    Base - $30338
XLE Nav Package (NV) - $2933
    Roof Rack - $110
Pref Accessory Package - $254 (Carpet floor mat set; Door sill protector; Cargo net; First aid kit)
    Fuel/Admin Charge - $13.96
    Handling Fee - $810
    TDA (??) - $587.0

    Total : $35045.96

Dealer is asking $500 over this invoice price so - ~$35.5k + Sales Tax / License etc (~9.5%)
    Out the door = ~$38.922k

    Edmunds TMV - $35.826k
True Car Value - Factory Invoice is $35055 and Average Paid in my area - $36.039k.. They also show dealer cost as - $34.396k

    My specific questions:
    a) Can I and should I negotiate this further down?
    b) Is 9.5% about what I should expect the tax/license costs to round up to? (I live in Northern California)

    Thanks

Hi, $500 over that invoice is high. Go to Truecar.com and type in your options and see what it produces. You should be getting something below invoice prior to the $1000 rebate. I've had many offers at $300 below invoice.

ecolorado, this is one of the worst quote and fees that I have seen. Without including the 1000 rebate, your quote is off by almost $2500. You can do better.
  • kanthrikanthri Member Posts: 5
Truecar.com shows the best value is $500k below invoice - ~$34.5k.. Can I trust this number and negotiate it at it? Just wondering if there really is room to negotiate down by $2500 like u suggest. Feel too deep..

This is what I am getting as a quote from Zag

    Base $30,712
    Options $3,346
    Incentives ($1,000)
    TOTAL $33,059 (INCLUDES Destination 810)

    + doc fee + registration + tax

    Options
    XLE NAVIGATION PKG (NV)
    PREFERRED PREMIUM ACCESSORY PKG (Z1)
    CARGO NETS (GN)
CARPET FLOOR MATS W/DOOR SILL PROTECTORS (CF-1)

Hope this helps to negotiate. Good luck.

offer is 28500, after 1000 rebate, it is 27500+tax+lic. Can I get better deal in Southern California, thank you very much for sharing!

While it was tough to find in my area I did get a SE today. Here are the details:

    Exterior: Predawn Gray Mica
    Interior: Dark Charcoal Edit

    PREFERRED PKG (SP)
    PWR TILT/SLIDE MOONROOF W/SUNSHADE (MR)
    TOWING PKG (TO)
CARPET FLOOR MATS W/DOOR SILL PROTECTORS (CF-1

    Sticker price was 35,099
My final purchase price was 31,726.96 (including rebate and not including taxes and fees)
Also, received the 1.9% financing on the vechicle through Toyota and free oil changes/car wash for life.

Overall, I was pleased. My goal was another 250 off but the dealership that could have done it wanted to charge me a 500 fee to have it brought in since they didn't have any in their area and they were 1.5 hours away. The SE made it difficult to get the addt'l 250 off because stock was so limited in my area. I guess Toyota doesn't produce many of these like the LE/XLE/LIM. I felt I received a fair deal though.

Just bought a SE last night in Phoenix, exterior - Black, interior Dark Charcoal with Preferred package and floor mat w/ door sill protector, door edge guard and tinted window

    Sticker price : $34029
Final price $31800 befor tax and fees, $285 under invoice, 0%/36month.

The negoitation is not very bad, it takes the dealer 3 rounds to come down to the price within 30minutes. Very pleased with their service.

Thanks for all the feedback on my first post! I wised up and made some moves. The dealer who gave me the original quote did not return my calls or e-mails on status for 3-days-too bad, poor customer treatment, yields well no customer. So, I went to the dealer's website that the vehicle was at yesterday morning, sent an email, got a response 5 minutes later. Worked on an offer. Then, I worked directly with the sales manager instead of the go-between guy. I told him I would only come in once a price had been agreed upon. I gave a very low offer. I asked the sales director to give me his lowest possible price if I buy "tomorrow", one that he could not possibly go lower. I said when I get it, I'll decide if I take it or leave it. I also reminded him of all the other quotes I recieved and that I was also considering the Honda Ody. So, he sent an e-mail with a firm offer. He offered me $900 below invoice, $1900 below if you include the rebate. So, I picked up the car today (Sienna XLE with entertainment package, cross bars, floor mats, lower side molding, mudguards). Sticker: 37097, Invoice: 34614, My price: 32715 (rebate included).

That's a great price! I really considered going for the XLE because I felt there was more pull on the price because of much more in stock but just wanted a dark interior. You did a great job! Enjoy!
  • lxowner2lxowner2 Member Posts: 51
Thanks 04max. I put the info into zag and got a 40,400 quote for the AWD Limited with the Preferred Package. In NYC, it is going for 1500 more. I will see what they come back with when they call me. If you know any NYC dealers with similar pricing, please do share. Thanks!

Hi...I've been reading this forum for a few weeks because we are thinking about getting a new Sienna. Thank you all for the valuable information you have provided so far.

We went to a local dealership recently but they did not have the Sienna we want in stock. We are specifically looking for a XLE/V6/FW/ in black with gray interior. Thats the only vehicle we will consider buying. The dealership had one but in a different color so of course they tried to unload it on us. We said no but before leaving we told the salesman that when the 2012's come in to give us a call (but only if they receive we we're looking for).

Over the past two days I've been trying to evaluate why I really want the XLE. At first I wanted the LE until I found out that it did not come with a power liftgate. The power liftgate is a must for me so then we began looking at the XLE. I can live without the leather interior in the XLE (we are in the south and that leather gets HOT) and whatever else comes with the XLE as opposed to the LE.

So my question is do you think it will be likely for Toyota to offer the power liftgate as an option for the 2012 LE model.

    Thanks in advance.

Great deal! Is it AWD? Which dealership? What was the sticker on the vehicle? Sorry about all the questions, your price got me very excited!
  • abhi_06abhi_06 Member Posts: 3
Thanks...no its a FWD not AWD. I got it from Haley Toyota of Richmond. The sticker price was 39799.No problem about the questions, this forum has been very informative and I hope to pass on the same and help others. All the best for your purchase.

What is the real bottom price for brand new 2011 Toyota Sienna LE in north Chicago area? I am ready to buy this month. So far I have $28,984 - $1000 rebate - $750 dealer cashback = $27,148 + tax, license and doc fees.

My friend purchased brand new 2008 Sienna LE in Jan 2008 for 24,400. Why is the delta in price so high now? almost 3000 more.
  • lxowner2lxowner2 Member Posts: 51
Still a great price. I am considering the XLE as an alternative to the Limited. I see the only real usable differences as power passenger seat and power fold-in mirrors with memory. Is there anything else I am missing here? Is it worth 2800 more for those items?
  • lxowner2lxowner2 Member Posts: 51
    Thanks again, very useful.

One NE dealership has a Limited, but it has the Convenience Package, which adds about $830 to the price, with headlights and rain sensing wipers that I don't really care for. So I am at 41,233.

To echo another person's questions, will there be any meaningful changes for the 2012 year?
  • 04max04max Member Posts: 15
I believe Limited also has Intelligent key and push button start. I really did not care about all these, hence went with XLE.

One feature that you may put to everyday use is "memory seat" , if you have more than one driver. This is something that I had decided to live with, after all 2800 is closer to 6 months of payment.

I honestly dont think there will be any big changes to 2012, due to
    1) 2011 being a new year model.
    2) Tsunami loss might not allow toyota to add any changes to 2012 .
    3) toyota usually does the face lift after 4 yrs.

    abhi_06,

That is a really great price. I offered 36,500 OTD for the same model and no toyota dealers in VA, MD would take it. Thanks for sharing.
  • roemer7roemer7 Member Posts: 1
That's pretty close to what I bought yesterday (Aug. 2, 2011):

2011 Toyota Sienna LE w/ tow prep, carpet floor mats, first aid kit, door sill protectors, and cargo net

    $27,898 - $1000 rebate = $26,898 + tax, license and doc fees. (Southside)
  • kanthrikanthri Member Posts: 5
XLE FWD w/Nav Package, Carpet and Roof rack cross bars - dealer quote is about $700 below invoice ($35,055 according to truecar.com). My local dealers have offered $500 over invoice and haven't budged so going about 100miles out and found this deal. $33,300 with $1000 rebate ofcourse. Feel its a good price but what do folks here think?

Asked them whey they are going so low. Their reasons are - they are a national dealership and have been given the flexibility to go a bit lower to hit the sales quota. Any comments?
  • abhi_06abhi_06 Member Posts: 3
    Hi Urglie,

I got it from VA dealer in Richmond - Haley Toyota of Richmond on Jul 30th,the Aug incentives may have changed hence they may not be willing to give your desired price, just keep trying... also some dealers accept Amex Zag Auto buying program which is very competitive. All the best for your purchase.
  • ecoloradoecolorado Member Posts: 5
$700 under invoice plus rebate = $1700 under invoice is a good price. What is the MSRP? and Invoice being quoted? But, if you buy on the last two days of August, you might be able to squeeze a couple of hundred more out. However, you might risk losing the model you are going after.
  • hwmovadohwmovado Member Posts: 9
Does anyone know the best purchase price in NYC and which dealer.
  • kanthrikanthri Member Posts: 5
MSRP: $37656 & Invoice: $35,055.. I will go for it. I called about 30 dealers around my town and 99% were offering $500 over invoice.

2011 Toyota Sienna XLE AWD with Navigation. Dealer provided quote at $35,600 + tax, license in SF, CA.

    MSRP: 39200. Good quote?

Is that before $1000 rebate? I checked truecar.com. With a Nav package in SFO a good deal is at $36385. If your quote does not include the rebate it appears you are getting a great deal. If it does then I think you can negotiate it down to $35185.. I just bought a XLE FWD w/Nav from Hayward Toyota and $700 below invoice.. I noticed some XLE AWD in their lot. Give them a call.

I am being offered (actualy, I offered them and they accepted), on a 2011 Sienna LE, V6, $27,183 before dealer fee and the other state related junk, plus 1.9% financing for 60 months. This is a normal Southeast Toyota rape deal (Florida) including all of their fees (SE Toyota is an equal opportunity raper....both dealership and customer). What do we think?
  • lxowner2lxowner2 Member Posts: 51
Hey guys, what are doing regarding the stated sliding door problems on the Sienna. Do you think it is resolved, or applicable to just a few vehicles?
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Sienna is still the most reliable van...I'm sure the problems are real, but there are a lot of them on the roads that don't have the problem, too.

Complainers tend to be vocal; people with no problem have no reason to post...
  • lxowner2lxowner2 Member Posts: 51
That is a very fair point. Do you know what changes the 2012 model will have? Some wrote better interior feel and mpg. Is there anyway to confirm this information?
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Rumors until we see more, IMHO. Right now I'd wait. If my van were totalled in a crash, I'm not sure what I'd get. Nothing grabs me.
  • lxowner2lxowner2 Member Posts: 51
True, if the only concern on this vehicle is really the interior feel, that is not necessarily all that bad, especially if you are in need (just had twins and don't feel I have enough room in my LX330). But waiting a month is not that much of a hardship. But what kind of deals do you think you can get on a 2012? Do you think you would still get 4K off the sticker?
  • kacmkacm Member Posts: 5
We have a 2004 Odyssey EXL w/ 65K mi. Given it's age (and the fact that it's still worth something), we're thinking of selling it and buying a new(er) van. I feel guilty b/c it's been a great car, but I don't like pouring money into older cars which I'm sure will happen soon.
Have to say I don't care for the new Odyssey-- feels small inside (esp. their price point & unavailability) so we've been looking at the new Sienna.
We're debating between the XLE and LE. I'm used to leather (although I hate it in the summer- we live in the south), but it's a big price jump to the XLE and I'm not sure it's worth it. I'm concerned about the "Easy Clean" cloth with 2 elem. age kids and their associated carpools and a dog (my husband swears he'll buy me great seat covers and have $$ leftover). What makes the "easy clean" fabric so EZ to clean? The salesman & mgr didn't have an answer. We have no interest in the towing pkg, Nav or Ent.
I received the following email quote for the LE (8pass, v6, FWD):
    Selling Price $ 28,638.00
    Processing Fee $ 395.00
    State Tax $ 870.99
    Gross Receipts Tax $ 57.28
DMV Online Tag Fee $ 10.00
    Title and Registration $ 50.75
    Sub Total $ 30,022.02
    Toyota Cash Coupon $ 1,000.00
    Total Out-the-Door Price $ 29,022.02

Should we proceed, I'm thinking there's still room for negotiations on the selling price. Am I wrong? Since we're in no rush should we wait for 2012s to see if some of the snafus are corrected? I saw 2012 pricing takes effect 9/6.

    Thanks in advance!!!
  • lxowner2lxowner2 Member Posts: 51
The 2012 pricing difference is negligible or nothing on all Sienna model trims, except the SE which is like a 2K difference.
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
We have a 2002 Honda Odyssey with 102,000 miles. Have only replaced brakes and done oil changes up till now. 105000 maintenance will be ~1200.00.

I would keep the '04 Honda Odyssey and drive it till 90 to 100,000 miles before selling it. You will not have that much in maintenance, and the depreciation on it will be nill compared to the 2011 Sienna. You will lose 3 to 5K when you drive it over the dealer's curb!

Now if you just have the hots for a new van and money is no object, go for a new van.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I haven't been looking closely enough to even give you an educated guess. I'll defer to the others here...
  • davidk12davidk12 Member Posts: 28
I have a 2003 Odyssey EX with 90K miles on and all I have done is brakes and the Aircon regulator went out a week ago ($140). I am also thinking of replacing my van, and after test driving both the Odyssey and Sienna multiple times, I am really trying hard to justify the additional cost. I much prefer the ride and build quality of the Odyssey over the Sienna, but is it worth the additional approx 2K. The Sienna just feels so cheaply built and plastic, but the scarcity of the Odyssey is keeping the prices up... What to do?
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
If the Ody did not exist, would you still buy the Sienna?

What I'm saying is, try to evaluate it on its own merits.

Am in the middle TN area, am looking for Sienna LE V6 FWD. Have been talking to Cumberland Toyota in Cookeville, After some haggling got a price of 28,319.26 incl. everything but tax, title, license. No options but flr mats and mudguards.Seem like they could do better, huh? Have also been using Zag/ Truecar, their lowest price dealer is Marietta Toyota in Atlanta, GA. Their online quote was 25,997. But what's gonna be added on? Anybody have experience with them? Marietta salesman is not very helpful, so haven't been able to ask all questions I have. Anybody have a dealer in Mid TN to recommend?
  • wardwwardw Member Posts: 10
For an LE V6 FWD I paid $27,183 plus a $700 Dealer Fee....Total before Goverment stuff of $27,883. That included Floor Mats. This was in the Tampa area. I have used Zag once.....They don't include Dealer Fees or Document Fees or whatever your dealer likes to call them.
  • puzzled16puzzled16 Member Posts: 2
Thanks for input. I know there are advantages to staying local.
  • azileretsisazileretsis Member Posts: 5
I have talked to the Marietta guys too. They did mention they are getting the 2012 models mid Sept. I've been getting more contacts from Toyota dealers but with low inventory and inventory having to be shifted around, I'm thinking I'll get a better deal in Sept even on a 2011.

    For $400:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4EWHtFe50Y

    2007 Toyota Sienna LE
    Magellan RoadMate 9055-LM
    Magellan Wireless Backup Cam

7" nav screen with backup cam function installed myself, total cost about $400. OEM Nav cost was $2200 on this model! And I got lifetime map updates included, plus the GPS has integrated traffic, bluetooth, text-to-speech, etc. It's the flagship GPS for Magellan right now.

Follow-up video demo of the custom bracket mount I made myself:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcLtA5S3QeU

Would work on any 2004-2010 model. Change the mount and you could do the same on 2001+.

I was sent a quote by our local dealership and was wondering if I can get any advice/opinion here if it is a good price. Apparently, you can only avail one of the ongoing promos, either financing or cash rebate (1k in GS region).

    Sticker Price - $36,175.00
    Quoted Price - $32,673.00
OTD price (TTL included) - $36,119.41 (not including $1k rebate as 1.9 financing is a better deal)

    Here are the options:
    Silver Sky metallic
    SE preferred package
Preferred premium package (cargo net, door sill protector, carpet floor mats, first aid kit)
    Power Tilt/Slide Moonroof with Sunshade
    Cargo Organizer
    Roof rack cross bars
    Vehicle Shield Package
    Premium Security System
DECOR PKG (no idea what this is)
    Cargo Net

    Thank you in advance.
  • vinceyvincey Member Posts: 6
I emailed 10 closest dealers and the quotes are all around 27.8K+TTL (including the 1K rebate). I think the quote is significantly higher than the good deals I saw on this board. What do I do as a next step? Anybody has any good sales person to recommend in Philly area? Thanks.

Just wanted post my deal. I paid for $26,400 plus doc fees ($499) from Zag in metro Atlanta. Black LE w/ V6. Tinted windows and floor mats included. No other upgrades. It was the best I could find. This also included 1.9% APR w/ $500 rebate. They are only supposed to do the deal on in stock vehicles but they gave to me on one that was due in next week. Hope this helps.
