Was planning to get the AWD limited will likely get the 2011 model in next few months. Once the 2012 are out. so you can get a better deal.
Additionally, our local dealer says 2012's arrive by 9/26 (toyota.com is also now showing Sienna 12 instead of 11). What's the best timing? Wait for a 2012 (don't buy first model year?) and maybe pay slightly more or try to hustle to get the best deal on a 2011?
Thanks in advance!
In regards to the 2011 or 12. I looked around with the honda as well. I heard a lot of complaints on the transmission. I had a accord which died due to transmission, granted i got out about 300,000 miles almost. Most of the problems with transmission started at about 100000 in the honda. So I decided to stick to the toyota and i don't think there is much change with the 2012. And since toyota is making the sienna for awhile i will take my risk with the 2011. Will get a better price i feel.
Can you post the price quotes that you get from the dealers?
I bought new 2011 Sienna XLE AWD premimum package for $37,500 from Fremont Toyota in East Bay area. Is this a good price?
Color is South Pacific Pearl. This car looks different color in different shades.
Total OTD is 41,300.
Today I ended up with the following:
2012 XLE with floor mats (includes processing) $31,500
taxes & tags $1,100
OTD $32,600
The van will arrive this weekend with the first batch of 2012's at this dealership. I lost the 1,000 rebate but am getting the color we wanted without overpaying for a 2011. Probably could have gotten a substantially better deal on the 2011 if the wife wanted Salsa Red or South Pacific Pearl.
Don't have much to go on as far as 2012 pricing, so just curious what you guys think of this deal.
My quote on a 2011 XLE is:
MSRP : 34.109,00
Sale Price : 32.000,00
Total Tax : 1.024,00
Processing Fees : 395,00
Registration Fees : 60,75
Total Delivered Price: 32.479,75, then take $1K off for incentive
The did get a 2012 XLE in stock yesterday. I haven't seen it yet, but was quoted via email:
MSRP : 34.600,00
Sale Price : 33.500,00
Total Tax : 1.072,00
Processing Fees : 395,00
Registration Fees : 60,75
Total Delivered Price : 35.027,75
Your deal is clearly better than what I received for the 11 and the 12-- thanks for posting since I now have something to work with.
Am wondering if any incentives will pop up in Oct for the 12s??
"
I just wondering is this sound normal or I have to bring it back to dealer soon?
If you do, then I think it is worth ponying up for the 2012. Since the msrp pricing has not changed on most models, you should get a similar price as the 2011s, losing only the manufacturer rebate (presently 1K).
Experts say that in Nov/Dec, there will be more incentives from Toyota and Honda so they can attempt to regain their lost market share. If you can wait, I would suggest holding off until then for maybe a 0% interest financing deal on 2012s.
If you can't wait, then you should look for 6-8K off the 2011s. But somehow, dealers think their Siennas are the world's best thing and won't let them go for that much.
However, as the previous poster stated I don’t believe the deals on the 2011’s are not good enough to justify purchasing the 2011 .just my opinion.
There is no way to tell what the incentives will be in November in December, but if you look at last year’s Toyotathon incentives there was a 1000 cash back on the Sienna but it excluded the XLE and Limited.
Right now I am debating whether or not to wait until the end of the year and see if there are any incentives on the 2012 XLE.
I'm going to wait for the 2012. The dealer mentioned the first one was shipped locally today.
Thanks.

the Base and LE have leather seats as an option, the SE has "leatherette" as standard, and the XLE has leather as standard.
If this is not correct, please post.
Seems demand for the XLE in Silver is "high" from their perspective and since they only had 1 2012 on the lot that's as low as they would go.
Guess we'll see what happens as more 2012s appear...
Just read the purchase contract and found they charge $310 for Theft Deterrent Devices which wasn't aware or acknowledge at time of signing.
optional DMV electronic Filing Fee $29
License Fee $210
Registration $110
Document Preparation Fee $55
California Tire Fees $8.75
Please let me know how to get dealer to refund of $310 & $29?
Thanks

Time to expand our search to greater new england.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
You won't be surprised that other people in this forum had much better price in other states.
