Also, what CB does everyone use? I thought the new Family Radios (FRS) would just kill the CB market but I have a couple of them and the performance is not really good. I have noticed some really nice handhelds and wondering what everyone has. Thanks.

I'm not sure what changer types were offered by Isuzu on later model years. Most later models seem to have either single-disc or 6-disc in dash units, and these seem to be prone to skipping if not mounted just right.
If you buy an aftermarket head unit and compatible changer then you could mount the changer either in the cargo area or under one of the front seats.
The biggest drawback for me with the original 12-disc changer is that I can't upgrade the head unit with aftermarket and continue to use the changer. The changer works really well (never skips) and I don't want to toss it just so I can replace it with a matching HU/Changer bundle.

Just guessing here but if the bad tire is the passenger side front make sure you get a good alignment or you will similarly prematurely wear out the new tire. It also wouldn't hurt to check the ride height in the front to make sure both sides are even before any alignment work. It seems that typically the passenger side needs about 1 turn on the torsion bar to even things out.
If you need a tire you have to do something. My suggestion is to try to find a very good tire shop. Explain the situation to them. See if they will work with you to try just putting the spare somewhere on the front (just to make sure you don't trick the rear limited slip into engaging with 2 different size tires). If you hear funky noises then you could try buying one new tire and running it and the new spare on the front (again less likely to fool the rear limited slip and TOD). If that too produces noises ask them if they will take back the barely used tire and give you credit towards the purchase of a set of new 265/75 tires.
Good luck and remember to do those tire rotations.

I looked at another trooper--I think a '99, in the parking lot here today. I noticed the front tires on that one showing similar cracks between tread blocks, although not as bad as my one front one.
I looked at the Scorpions--one thing I noticed was they are made in Brazil. I was considering Dunlops in the stock size.

P.S. Note to self, regarding Paisan's post (earlier today, but can't remember where) about speeds attained in his trooper, never, NEVER ride with him!
Juice has ridden with me from the subaru group!

FWIW we are also very happy with the ride and handling improvement the 265/75 Michelin LTX/ATs have given us. Paisan's 275/70 Pirelli option also sounds good but was not a typically stocked size, at least in the local shops I checked.
As for the cover, sorry, it is not for sale.

Conman's lund guard is still on backorder. As soon as he gets it installed I'll post pics.
