Hi, I lived in Virginia Beach, VA too and I'm looking to purchase a 2010 Odyssey EXL w/RES. Do you mind let me know what dealer you got quote from for the one you are looking to buy. Thanks.
Yes you are right. There really rude and difficult to deal with. Let me tell you the story how i did.
I went to a dealership and originally i want to buy a preowned but prices or preowned and new were not that different so i decided to check the price of new base model (with no research on new models)
After test drive he showed me Edmunds.com and said we can sell you for 28000. That dealership was also participating in AAA buying program and i aksed him how much i have to pay under AAA buying program and all of a sudden his manager came over with invoice price listing and AAA agreement and give me a quote of invoice price (i.e. 25,250) plus 250 and i was happy bcoz it is way low than what he was asking and gave him my deposit and went back home. After talking to couple of my friends i found out he might go lower.
Next day i went back and ask for my deposit and told him i cant afford this price and his manager came over and try to bargain little more but i kept insisting i want my deposit back and i am going for Toyota Rav 4 (no camparision but still) than another manager cameover and offered me $23,875 if you left the deposit and come back in two days which i couldn't. I called other dealerships and check truecar.com price and found out his price is good and went back to him on Black Friday and negotiate it bcoz he was not ready to give me 23,875 and we end up 24,000 plus tax and dmv.
I skipped the RES and NAVI thinking that I could get a decent plug in NAV for $200 and I have read reviews that the RES is VERY picky about the quality of the DVD disks used....who has a large collection of DVDs in perfect condition??
Anyone in the SO Cal area had any success buying a remaining stick 2009 EX-L for less than $28,500? Dealers are choosing to sit on these when 2010's can be had for only about $1K more in the color you want. There's even a dealer with one that has 1000 miles on an '09 that he still wants $29K for! Are the dealers just waiting for Honda Corp. to see the abyssmal 4th Quarter sales numbers, expecting to get some help in the form of rebates? Did they make THAT MUCH $$$ during C4C that they can sit and make nothing for 6 months? We all thought this would have turned around by now, but looks like Honda Corp's strategy is low 2010 production with no support to dealers until new re-designed 2011 launches as early as Summer 2010 (to compete with early release of re-designed Sienna. Any thoughts?
In some cases they do and if you check www.dealerratar.com you will see so many negative comments. If you are going in the deal than it is good otherwise if you try to bargain a little and tell them you are asking too high you will find it on your own.
I recently bought one for 31700 (incl dest) + 2200 (tax) + 200 (title, doc) = 34100. the only incentive they offer now is the 1.9% APR for 3 yrs..Not a bad deal if you qualify. & i did not get the extended warranty..one can shop for it till they hit 6K miles and will get the same rates as a new van, after that they go up.
Just landed a 2010 EX-L w/ R&N and wheel locks for 32700 including 710 destination, 34200 OTD in VA. This appears to be 1700 below invoice and 5300 below MSRP. Got several offers via Costco car buying program (lowest initial price) and dealer websites (~20 or so, you need a wide net), then started asking who could beat the Costco price. The dealers with the best "secret" volume incentives became clear and I used email to get the price down. Price came down even more once in the showroom. I may have been able to save another 200 or so based on previous postings, but I was happy and tired. Given all the electronics, I went for the 8yr/120k Honda Care warranty for $1236 ($1 profit). Of note, you need to have other offers (van and warranty) in writing. Got the color I wanted too! This forum helped a ton.
Congrats to you first of all! I hope you'll enjoy your minivan just like me. Does the $34,200 included everything and the $1236 Honda Care Warranty too? Even if it did not included the warranty, I believe you still get a great deal for 2010 EXL/RN. I'm happy for you!
Bought at Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg. Honda Care was added to 34200. I added the Honda Care after negotiating the OTD price, sorry for the confusion. Financed everything at 2.9%. Also had great offers from Northwest Honda in Baltimore and West Broad Honda in Richmond.
Offer from Northwest was around 33265. At Pohanka, I used the Costco internet sales route and got one of the salesmen. The main player was the sales manager (good guy) and I can't remember his name. The salesmen had to go to the manager with everything. The best advice is to have emails in hand with lower prices.
I just got one. I paid a little bit over Invoice, hopefully. They try and get you on adding the 8/120K year warranty thing once you work out your deal. I knew they would, so I worked it in mine after about 4 trips back and forth to the head guy. They want $1,989.00, but you can get it down to about 1,200.00, but you have to work it in your price before you go to finance. Basically, once I was done with the standard features and adds that might have been on the orignal invoice. I still called them out to make sure. (Darker tent than standard, pinstripe on site, splashgards, cargo tray, undercoat thing, wheel locks, crossbars, taxes, 8yr/120K Extended Warranty, Tag, State Inspection, Deputy, Documentation Fee, Road/Bridge Fee, Title, Delivery if Any. Basically, I'm out the door at $42,700.00. I might have gotten screwed, but we went back and forth for a while. What a beat down. I think you might do better. Oh... forgot they had to get it from another dealer, because what I wanted wasn't there. That price included all that. Have fun. I hope I like it.
We just got this offer for the Honda EX-L with RES in Northern Virginia. This is sales price of $32,900 plus tax and tags. I think this is a pretty good deal but wanted some feedback. I am going to try and negociate down to $32,000 OTD, do you think this is realistic.
I have several offers in the K.C. area on 2010 Tourings which run between $37,500 and $38,210, plus "processing" fees between $200 and $300. That is without any add-ons or extended warranty. Will probably wait for a couple of weeks to see if deals improve as month/year end approach. Also looking at several 2008 Tourings with under 20000 miles with current asking prices right around $33,000, but I would expect they will go a couple thousand lower. Not sure which is the better deal?
If anyone has recently purchased this trim in the North DFW area (TX) would you please reply with the price you've paid. I'd like to know what a "realistic" price is.
--------------------------------------------- For 2010 Honda Odyssey EX, I have recv'd price quote of $27,000 (Plus Tax+Title & Lic). (Its $29,500 ***Out the Door*** Price if you live in Chicago IL - Cook County). -------------------------------------------- For 2010 Honda Odyssey EXL w/ RES, I have recv'd price quote of $31,400 (plus TTL). $31,400 includes destination charge. -------------------------------------------- I've bought 2 cars from them in the past so I don't believe there's any surprises involved with the prices above.
Just curious if anyone getting better prices then these on EX and EXL w/ RES ??
I was in Flower Mound.-Around 39,000. Ask for invoice and it's going to be around 1000.00 over that with your taxes and then tack on your warrant for 1200-1800.00 Doug
