be leary of 2007s. they use some special tires that wears out faster and cost more to replace...flat pax tires
google it or look up the wiki
Thanks everyone for your input on this site! It really helped us find and negotiate our best price (at least I hope its a good one...)
To giving the SSN, keep in mind that if the purchase price is over $10,000.00 and cash literally means pictures of dead presidents, the Fed requires that you give the SSN. On the other hand, there is a growing recognition by the State DMV's that requiring the SSN to title a vehicle creates an unnecessary risk and some (I believe not yet all) States are moving away from that practice.
We live in Colorado. The best offer we found for exl-res-nav is 33,480.00.
They just laughed at us when we tried to mention about other people get a better price.
Is there anyone here from Colorado or in a neighbor hood?
We don't know what to do with the fact that the inventory getting lower and lower.
Please comment.
check my post # 25923 on recent purchase of 2010 Ody EX-L R&N...The only difference is the Location I Live in NJ, I believe there shouldn't be much differenc except state required fees, As far as Vehicle prices goes you need to do ....
first thing have you got a quote in writing? Have you checked with other dealers can you drive 20-30miles or more if you save thousands ? if there is a couple hundred $$ differenc don't even bother? it ultimately depends on you from where to buy...ask local people what they aresaying about the dealears you are interested in?
I would assume the quote you got is including destination,if correct then it is a reasonable price for vehicle and options you are looking for. you want to ask dealer to send you an email confirming the price quote and they will honor this price. Here in NJ many dealears have increased odys price by atleast $1000 you must make sure. Ask dealer if can give you Wheel lock FREE ($50) other thing like a remote start, paint protection it depends on how do you negotiate. Are you interested in buying extended warranty? Coast you somewhre between $1000-$1500 for 7yr or 8yr for 75K-120K. you can addthis items and ask to add FREE for other items that you need is most important to you.
I hope this helps.
We've had our Odyssey for 2 1/2 weeks now... love it. Can't wait to take it on a long trip and max out its gas mileage.
Can I purchase the xtended warranty for the recently purchased (last week) from California?
$150 splash guards, wheel locks
$399 doc fee
$31 title
$1,489.60 tax (7%)
$34,200.60 OTD
Go to http://www.hyannishondacare.com and request more info. Then call them and ask for Bob with the phone number listed on the website. Best prices anywhere in the US (as long as you don't live in Florida). I bought my policy when my Odyssey was 2 weeks old. Hope this helps.
Only SOME Tourings had the PAX tires. They were standard on 2005 and 2006 Tourings. After that Tourings could be ordered either way.
I know our store wouldn't order any with PAX tires. They do cost a lot more to replace and there aren't many places that have the special (expensive) tire machines that are required to change these.
I think it must have seemed like a good idea at the time and certainly there are some benefits. Most people didn't think so.
If you give him my name as a referral, I'll split the referral bonus with you.
Any time a new model comes out there are always some people who like the old model better and they will try to grab one before they are gone.
If 2010 inventories are getting low which is probably the case, the incentives could disappear entirely.
How is the VW routan which is being sold at 5000 under invoice due to VW incentive. I know VW is buid by Chrysler but Routan. Right now cannot decide between Routan SE w/DVD and NAV for $25000 versus Odyssey EX-L w RES @ 30,000. Please help
Joe
Very high 34s is the lowest I've seen anybody claim.
All I'm saying is if you try to second guess what Honda may or may not do you could easily outsmart yourself. I've been totally fooled myself in the past.
Not only that, the inventories will get so picked over that you may have to settle for a model or color you really don't want.
I heard the sales of the VW Routan have been dismal. If you see a 5000.00 incentive that should tell you something. They wouldn't do that unless they couldn't sell them otherwise.
As far as a VW, it is of course a rebaged Chrysler. Of course you can buy it cheaper. And any resale will be affected with lower values.
This is the best that we can do for over 2 weeks of dealing with all the dealership within 100 miles radius. It is came down to the last 50.00 bucks.
Thank you all so much for your post.
Take care.

'11 Odyssey production starts tomorrow at the Lincoln plant according to The Birmingham News. If true, they could be hitting stores as soon as next week.
See story here-->> http://blog.al.com/businessnews/2010/08/updated_honda_minivan_rolls_ou.html
They will be at dealer showrooms next month September.
I hope I can grow to like the 2011 Odyssey. Right now I think the rear quarters are down right ugly. To me it is like the rear quarters belong on a different vehicle. And they still have the sliding door track visible.
Customers can sick at home in their Underwear and panties with a 6-pack of beer/wine and Negotiate without going to the dealerships to listen to salesmen with Halitosis and Greasy hair trying to sell them something they don't want or need, only to be offered a coca-cola from the vending machine located in the back near the clerk's desk, the clerk has been at the dealer since it opened in the early 1900's....!!!! Nothing has changed with these goons....!!!
Car buying shouldn't be so stressful, but you have out there these Grease-ers peddling cars
the 2010 models are running out fast , i had to get quotes from multiple dealerships to get the color i wanted.
i was on the fence for couple of months , deciding to wait for the 2011 models or get the 2010
but i jumped in finally, i beleive the major differences are aesthetics and electronics
which in my opinion is not worth the 4 to 5k premium that the 2011 model will command
And clean cut, well educated salespeople who are top performers with a ton of repeat and referral customers.
Like I was for 13 years until I retired in May.
I agree, you have slime on both ends, the salesmen and customers--not all are bad.
Guess each side grows thick skinned because they have heard and seen it all, gone through it all. It's a shame, again--buying a car shouldn't have to be the way it is.
As customers, I met some great people that I would consider friends and I met some who I hope I never see again. Many more good than bad.
i needed one right away, thats why i got it, if you dont need one right away , then you can wait for the 011 model
I am in Atlanta. I ran thru the numbers for a HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L with RES and NAV and came up with 31470 + TTL = 33500.
Essentially I am asking for 33500 OTD price. Is that reasonable or I am being plain silly ?
I think I need a sanity check if I am right or way off.
Thank you for your time.
