    Picked up a 2010 Odyssey Touring last night for $35,750 +TTL. My sense is that is pretty good. Any contrary thoughts?

    Doesthat include destination charges? How much you are paying for TTL in atlanta?
    If the price includes all of the above this is a bargain price. DO not let it go.

    TTL in Atlanta is 1909.

    I have come up with that number and putting it to the dealer at 33500.

    The dealer is giving me 34491.

    So you think I can get 33500 or not. ?

    Hmmmmmm

    Here is how I came up with numbers.

    Invoice price on Edumunds 34474 (including the delivery fee)

    Honda gives 1500 discount

    Dealer gave another 1000 dollars off on an EX-L (white) so I am thinking he will do the more with RES and NAV at 1500

    So total is now
    34474 - 1500 - 1500= 31474

    Add to this the TTL at 6% tax in GA

    31974+ 1919+ 21 = 33383

    I am rounding off to 33500.

    Unless I am expecting that dealer will drop 1500 which is too much, this number is very much doable right.

    Let me know where I am wrong on this.

    Hey, give it a try. All he can do is say no to the deal.

    The RES-NAVI's are much harder to get. Not that many are made compared to other models. At this point in the year, just finding one could be your biggest challenge.

    The longer you wait the slimmer inventories are going to be.

    This was the best deal I could get in Gwinnett on my EXL with R/N. If they accept your offer... congrats! If not... I wouldn't let them push you any higher than my purchase. In the end, colors and trims are in short supply, so make a decision... QUICK.

    You can't imagine how many times I saw "frugal" shoppers trying desperatly, pitting dealer against dealer trying to wring another couple dollars out of a deal only to realize their offers weren't going to work.

    Then they find out the model and color they HAD to have are all gone.

    They outsmart themselves. I almost enjoyed watching this sometimes.

    NEWSFLASH:

    I just called one of my former co-workers and I asked about inventory levels on 2010 Odysseys and he said they had very few left and some models are now sold out.

    I see this happen every year especially when a new model is coming out.

    My cousin did it, he contacted 8 dealers--and it worked--dealer against dealer--it worked..the dealer he went was very Fair in price--however, they weren't adding on all that Fake Crap..such as Exterior and Interior protection---which is CRAP, wheel locks for $100, which is Overpriced to begin with, Scotch Guard for $200, you can go to Wal-Mart or Target and purchase a can of this stuff from 3M and spray it on.

    One salesman even told my relative that your Leather can catch on Fire if you don't put on "THEIR" version of Scotchguard, the salesman should spray that stuff into his "GREASY" hair, maybe he should catch on Fire himself. FREAKIN LIERS..!!

    Our store never did those things. We did install wheel locks because wheels get stolen around here quite often.

    What worked for your cousin may not work for someone else if inventories get depleted.

    I did not try to play dealer vs dealer. I calculated the cost based on the numbers in Edumunds, forums here plus what is good profit etc.,

    I got 31500 OTD for Honda Odyssey EX-L (no RES no NAV). I am asking 31000 as a nice number. Not sure if I am nickle and diming.

    I got 34474 OTD for Honda Odyssey EX-L (with RES with NAV). I am asking for 33,500 with willingness to go to 34,000.

    Not sure what documentation fee is ? What is it used for any ways ? It is coming to 600.

    Shopping around for a few days, here is what I got on EXL(no Nav, no RES)
    29000+TTL+4.0%APR(5years)

    Compare with the number I saw here (however, I did not see people mentioned APR number, does it mean paid cash?) I am wondering if this is good deal or not. Tried 28600+TTL (which I saw one deal on here), but rejected by all dealer. Anything I did wrong? any suggestions? I am living in San Jose, CA

    September is generally a perfect month to get a great deal on a new car, especially on the remaining 2010 models. Dealers are trying to make room for the new 2011 versions being delivered.

    Car sales slowed down last month after manufacturers cut back on incentives. Sales of Toyota, Honda, Chrysler, and Volvo were all down last month. The car makers realize they need to offer better deals to get sales moving again - which is great news for car shoppers.

    0% financing is now widely available on Ford, Nissan, Toyota and Chevrolet models while Honda is offering rates of 0.9%.

    There is also a slew of great cash rebates, some as high as $5,000 on GM models. All in all, September 2010 is a great month to purchase a current year model. There is still inventory to choose from on certain models and there are always some dealers who are more desperate than others to get rid of their remaining models.

    That doc fee sounds strangely high. Ask the dealer to itemize what their $600 covers. Most things included in the doc fee are administrative and are not negotiable. I asked one dealer to break down their doc fees and I found a $199 VIN etching fee they tried to sneak in there! You can do etching yourself with a $20 kit. If you find stuff like that, definitely bargain that down. If you want an EX-L +/- R&N, you better move quickly.... most of the lots I see only have Tourings left.

    You can offer whatever you want to. If it makes any sense to the store you will be driving your new Odyssey home. If not, he will just sell it to someone else.

    A 600.00 Doc Fee is nuts but I've heard of even higher ones. We charged 150.00 which is reasnoble.

    Don't take all of the numbers in these forums as gospel. Too many varibles and I think people tend to forget what they actually paid.

    Seriously, I just wanted to stress the fact that inventories are VERY low right now and getting slimmer by the day.

    We bought an EX last night at Jeff Wyler Colerain in Cincinnati, 25650 base price and 27500 OTD (with TTL). The dealer was aiming to clear stock at the end of the month and cut us a good deal. We also took Honda America Financing at 3.5%. All around a good deal and good shopping experience for us.

    Sounds like a decent price. I purchased an EX-L here in Southern California 1 month ago for $29,176 + TLL. Even back then, inventory for the EX-L trim was running low and color choice already limited (black and red more available).

    I'm sure that inventory is even lower at this time, and I'm not sure how much lower the price will drop. You may wish to consider purchasing now rather than waiting in hopes of a lower price and run the risk of not being able to find an EX-L or one in the color you may not be too excited about.     Last night we purchased Honda Odyssey EX-L with R/N OTD price is 33000, but we added 8yr/120 k extended warranty for 1648 and value care maintenance for 159 and totalled approx 34490.

    The dealer we bought had just one of the above model and we liked the colorand went with it.
    Moreover we got side edge bars, wheel locks and splash guards.

    Thanks to edmunds forums as i could negotiate more on extended warranty based on the reviews here.

    That would have been nice but, of course not.

    And I no longer have a horse in the race, I retired in May but I'm still in touch with my old co-workers so I do have my hand on the pulse a bit.

    Yeah, happy hunting. O2010 Odysseys inventories are down to practically nothing at this point.

    And, thanks for that post. Made me smile I retired and don't have to wear a dress anymore or put up with cheapskate customers.

    That is fine if people are really Finicky about colors and all, at the end of the day all these Cheapskates want is a low monthly payment. Hell, if you tear out the Leather Seats and bolt Milk Crates to the floorboard for them to sit on, and you knock $3,000 OFF the Price, those CHEAPOS would Kneel before you.

    Did this deal today outside of Boston:

    Silver Metallic EX-L (No RES, No NAV)

    $28471 including destination.

    Price is $100 over "cost", which equals $31,040 invoice, less holdbacks of $668 and $501, less $1500 dealer rebate, +$100 profit = $28471.

    You can find equivalent deal at Kelly Honda Lynn, MA on a gray one.

    Inventories are getting low.

    Hello All,

    Someone I know posted a negative review of a certain NEW Honda dealer here in Florida on Dealerrater.com and Dealerrater.com REMOVED THE POST because it was "Negative".

    Apparently this dealer has an AD telling customers about Dealerrater.com in their showroom. Since this dealer is NEW they don't want the surrounding community to know that even though their dealer is CLEAN, they are DIRTY...!!!!

    SCAM....SCAM....SCAM.....SHAME ON YOU Dealerrater.com :P

    I purchased a 2010 Touring Black with Black Leather, not dealer installed items for basicly invoice less the $1500.00 rebate tonight ($35,443 before Tax, Title and License fee). No BS with fees or dealer add-ons at an inflated amount for stripes, mudflaps or wheel locks which we can all buy from H and A for much less. I traded my 07 Odyssey and was happy with the trade value right at the Edmunds value for a 4/5. It needed a small amount of mechanical attention like 2 rear tires and a steering pump (should have been warranty in my opinion as I think there was a service bulletin but I was in fact very please with Valley Honda in Aurora/Naperville. Love the new Van and look forward to driving it. This is my 5th Honda Odyssey and first Touring Model. Still a decent amount of Tourings out there but the other models are picked through and not a lot of incentive for dealers to trade inventory as I think they feel confident that they can move these with the rebates.

    Oh, They matched my credit union rate of 3.99% for 48 months for a portion of the purchase price. Thanks for the information here as this helps us know what the current market is demanding and where to make our offers. I walked from one dealer and got plenty of bad offers before Valley agreed to what I wanted. They made some money and that is fair. When it's an all cash (no trade) you certainly have more leverage but when your trade is a part of the consideration you are somewhat subject to the discretion and fairness of the dealer. Good Luck!

    After much back and forth, I was offered $33,939.00 out-of-the-door. The dealer will only give me $850 of the cash-back incentive offered by Honda. Finding this model is proving a little difficult and I am worried if I wait any longer, the cash-back incentive will expire (it is set to end on 9/7). Can the price gurus tell me if the above quote is a good one? Thanks.

    Oh, I've been following the discussion closely and am sorry that I was unclear. My point was that, contrary to the assertion in the post in which the link appeared, the AutoNation inventory was NOT confined to vehicles in Central Florida. In other words, AutoNation does not have 306 Odyssey for sale in Central Florida.

    Central Florida, Southeast--it's all the same, go to Disney World then drive where ever in the Southeast and buy an Odyssey, why not make it a family vacation after all?

    Now a days everyone is getting WWAAYYYY..to politically correct, everyone stand back, drink a beer and go to the Beach and Relax..!!! :)

    I got my EX-L with NAV/RES for $33,700 OTD 2 months ago in Northern Va. That should give you an idea of what you may be able to get. Good luck!

    OTD pricing is tough to compare. What is the price w/destination before tax, title, license and dealer fees? I paid $30,400 in NJ back April which was a very good deal at the time IMO.
