They added mudflaps, cargo mat, and wheel locks and wanted an extra $360 for that. They claim they do that to every Odyssey they get in. We asked them to take it off and she refused, saying it will cost them $50 in labor and refused to give us a lower price.
I asked nicely for the total out the door price with 'with the accessories we are forced to get and don't want' and was called hostile. Told her we have to think about it and gave her hope that we'll call her back if we decide to move forward.
I was 'hostile' when she asked me what my credit union financing rate was. 2.99%. She told me I was wrong, it can't be that low. I told her 'I'm pretty sure I am right' in a not so friendly tone.
She pointed out that we were arguing about $360 when we were getting almost 6k off the MSRP. On the flip side, they are also loosing a sale over $360. For a dealership that claims to play 'no games no gimmicks', this was a gimmick - Give us the lowest internet price to lure us in and then surprise us with dealer add-ons.
We have 1-2 more dealerships to try before we will go back. They have another Touring coming in the color we want in September that we can get before the dealer add ons, but we have to put down a non-refundable deposit.
If it costs $50.00 labor to take add ons off, pay that and get the one in stock.
Putting a no refund deposit down really locks you down to their store. If a good deal pops up at another dealership you are sol.
If they quoted you a price on an in-stock unit, that is the price. Period. For them to change the deal once you're there, well, it's time to go elsewhere...
Except they're still cheaper and you'd get at least two items - splash guards and cargo mat - that are well worth having (I had them on my '05 Touring and just ordered them this morning for my incoming '10 EX-L). Suggest you offer $200 for those items and let them keep the lug nuts.
Plus, are you really going to trust them to deliver a future unit sans those items?
I'm hoping I can get them to throw in a cargo mat, what's the ballpark on a remote start for the Odyssey, is there a factory one or do I get stuck with an aftermarket and two fobs?

I agonized for weeks between the EX and EX-L and finally bought the latter yesterday (see below for details).
For me, there were several deciding factors:
1) Although I'm not a big fan of leather, heated seats are oh so nice;
2) As I learned with an '05 Touring a few years ago, VCM yields markedly better gas mileage; and
3) The power liftgate is a BIG plus.
It helped (and maybe this was just rationalization) to think of the roughly $3000 extra for the EX-L in terms of relative pricing 35 years ago so I divided the figures by 5 and considered that if the van cost about $5000, would I pay $600 more for an EX-L?
Then the choice was easy - that "$600" buys alot - VCM (and related items), leather, moonroof, back-up camera, power liftgate, XM radio, heated seats, and auto-dimming mirror.
Price - $28,555.40, including destination
Doc fee - $250.00 (universal in Ohio)
Tax - 6.75% of the above figures combined
Local dealers in Columbus would not match, much less beat, Castrucci's price. A couple of other Dayton stores (Hidy and Voss) were several hundred dollars more. Cincinnati dealers were not competitive.
I've bought a number of new cars this way and it's always the same story - if you cast a wide enough net, there's always a dealer who, for whatever reason, will sell for less.
Just beware of service needs. Our air conditioner in the 2010 went out last week. The earliest service appointment was 7 days from my call to them. It has been 90+ degrees every day. With that kind of advance scheduling, I hope the engine and transmission don't fail.
Personally, I don't think wheel locks, (if wheels stolen, your insurance co will buy you new ones) splash guards ( worth buying separately, easy DIY install) and protective trunk are worth the price the dealers charge. Just a profit maker for them.
I also got the 8 year/120k Honda Care added for $1,296. He said he could not sell it at $1295 because that was his cost but he had to add a dollar.
I got a loan from pentagon federal credit union at 2.99 for 60 months. Easy to sign up and be a member.
I'm happy about the price, not a great as other parts of the US but Texas is a different market. Good luck and I just wanted to contribute to this forum since it helped me so much.

base price was 35483 and had dealer added accessories (cargo mat, splash guards, and wheel locks) for $360. They refused to negotiate any further on price. Refused to discount the accessories package and refuse to take them off. We did not like the sales lady and her attitude once we got down to talk about pricing. The next 2010 Silver Odyssey was coming in mid-September and we can have it with a non refundable deposit of $500. They will not add accessories if we put down a deposit. Hubby was almost inclined to purchase it from them as the accessories package did not bother him as much as it bothered me. Well, her whole attitude bothered me (she told me I was wrong about my 2.99% financing...umm, I secured the loan). We walked. Oh, we couldn't figure out why they would still be getting 2010s in September either.

50-60 miles away. I gave them dealership #1 base price, TTL, and all fees. They said they can beat the Out The Door Price by $530. They were willing to take a refundable deposit. Confirmed no accessories were added. We almost went with them but I wanted to try one more local dealership.
Dealership #3
about 10-15 miles away. They price matched dealership #1 base price. Other fees were slightly higher but not by much. Next time, I will give them the out the door price. They also have standard with every new vehicle, free first oil change, free oil change and service at 10k miles, and 6 free details over 3 years. No added accessories. We only had to wait 2 days for the Touring to be delivered from the factory. It was a long 2 days. The salesman was mellow and nice. He even talked us out of silver and into Slate Green which does not look green at all. They did not try to sell us any extra services or warranty.
We went with dealership #3 because they were closer than #2. Base price was 35,458. Out the door was 37,148. Both dealership #1 and #3 could not believe how low dealership #2 was going on the Touring. We could not get a lower price locally and I did not want to drive that far if I did not have to. We used our own credit union at 2.99%.
All in all, we felt we reached a rock bottom price for our region..certainly not the lowest in the nation.
i even signed up agreement but later i was little reserve if i am getting good price, specially 2011 is about to release.

SInce i have a screwed up credit history (but points are close to 700) only getting 7% apr for 72 months. I don't see any ad on special financing
i tried couple of other dealers in 20 mile radius, i didn't get a price like this.

i was wondering, can the dealer play game on Doc, title, destinations fees? i always think they are fixed for that location..
the APR i got 7% , only if i take extended warrent which covers 7 years/75k miles (technically 4 years and 45k miles, which comes to $500 per year)
i was rejected by banks due to my ding my credit history (what else , housing!!)
my community banks are offering more than 6% apr.. which i haven't applied for.
What was final price ? $28605 plus ttl looks the cheapest i have got in e-mail quotes till now.
Did this have rear DVD ?
Here are my needs and choices.
Choice 1) Less than 30K miles, 2007 to 2010 EX-L with backup camera and DVD.
Choice2) New 2010 EX-L with rear DEV (backup camera is std)
In bayarea (CA) I am not finding any choices used in 2008 to 2010.
There are a few 2007 coming up. they have 22,000 to 32,000 miles and cost around $24,500 + tax. (10% fee).
What will be cost of a new 2010 EX-L with rear DVD ?
I am getting quotes for 31,000 + tax = 34,000
My break point is $10,000 difference after tax. if i am not able to save atleast $10,000 then i want buy new van.

I see the meter going one point above E. I am surprised to the mileage is just 188.
I am not sure whether the dealer filled in the gas for full. After few minutes of delivery, i saw the gas level came down one quarter.
I drove most of it local miles.
How much can I expect for mileage. Do i expect little early on the performance. What should i do exactly to check the mileage.
I am also interested in the EX-L (with or without RES - haven't decided)
For an EX-L (no RES/NAV) I"m getting a price of $29,500 + TTL = $32,000 OTD
For an EXL w RES (no NAV) I'm getting $30,800 + TTL = $33,375 OTD
I'm also getting a sob story about how the minivan market in Atlanta is so tough that they are in short supply etc etc.

Overall, good expereince, I don't know how good is the deal!!. I went for this deal because I saved atleast $500 from other dealers( when comapring apples to apples) Most dealers won't let you have $1500 rebate and special financing- 1.9/36month or 2.9/60months. I got $1500 rebate first in the price and then financed for 3.65% for 60month, Technically, I will be paying $1500 in finance charges over 5yrs. ($300/yr or $25/month) which ultimately comes down to 1.9%/60month
Thinks we kept in mind: Dealer will honor warranty only if they install accessories. if you find cheaper out side, go for it but at the cost of warranty ,which could be nightmare if your vehicle start giving you problems, consider most of todays vehicles are 80% electronics and 20% mechanical, Electronics are cheaper only if you know how to and where to get it. diagnostics doesn't come cheap...considering all these we thought it would be nice to have dealer install.

They are running very low on inventory (I think they had 6 left in stock). The salesman told me that after my offer, they raised the prices on the remaining '10s. Normally, I would think it was all talk, but their quote was at least $1000 less than any other area dealer.
What pissed me off a bit was, A credit-check was run even when i paid cash.
I asked the dealer guy why he is getting it signed when i am paying myself.
He said, that was the reason why he is not asking me to fill anything more than name and few other things.
So I am very Pissed off, when i got an e-mail saying there was credit check on me 3 days later.
Do not give your SSN, if you are paying cash as you have told.

It's rare to see people on here talking about an EX w/ RES. I just bought one last night and here is what I paid:
$32,285 MSRP w/ destination.
Sales price, $28,000 including doc fee.
Also got trunk tray, wheel locks, pin stripe, and splash guards, and a bunch of maintenace items such as free oil changes and car washes.
Wolfchase Honda in Memphis was my dealer, they didn't play any games, just worked with me til we found a deal.
I took the base quote from autopark and had crown honda match it.
Crown honda was low on inventory in all the trims, but they happen to have the trim I wanted being delivered so I got it before they added accessories...plus they give you free oil changes, 10k mile service, and 6 free details within 3 years.
I did a price match on the base price instead of out of the door price. Crown Honda fees are slightly higher, but worth it in my opinion with the freebies added on and no unwanted accessories.
The other dealership that actually beat Autopark was Bryon Honda in Fayatville. I did not want to drive that far to save 530 bucks (or 860 if you count autopark's accessories package) on the out the door price.
autopark raised their prices? mmmm..tempted to get another internet quote to see if that is true or not.
