Just email me and I can email you my essay about these theives, I mean salesman.
It looks like you and I are in the same boat.Right now the best price I can get for the Sienna is 7% over invoice. I want 5% or less. If I know for sure that the all-new Ody comes out this Fall then I will wait for it .Otherwise I think you can get the Sienna for 5% over invoice by this summer. But if you can get it at 2% over invoice in the Bay area , please let me know.

I know $1900 is nothing to brag like what the others have been getting, but for NY, NJ and PA area this was AMAZING. Farleyk can back me up that we really pushed these guys to prove themselves to us.
Dealership was Yonkers Honda. I can email you the salesman who helped close the deal.
I can tell you first email encounter with the owner was last Friday, another 6 emails during the weekend, and tonight we signed off on the offer. Spent a total of 30 mintues at the dealership.
PLEASANT PLEASANT PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.
To those buying in Ohio, I also have to thank you, if not for your discounts, I might have just grabed the first offer, but I had to insist on my discount and persisted and finally got it.
I look forward to picking up the Ody on Sat.
In the 3 months I have been lurking around this board, you are the most persistent person on working a great deal in getting this van. At $1900 off, you came out smelling like a rose as the Ody was at MSRP just 3 months ago before Christmas in many areas, except for the Ohio/Texas regions.
Many of us want to thank you for the spreadsheet you did on comparing the features of Ody versus 04 Sienna. Too bad there's no picture posting capability at these boards or else you can show us your new beauty.
And I had held out hopes that we all would be flying to Boise to meet up with the host Steve to get great Honda deals out there as he says it's big 3 country out there. Oh, well. Maybe next time when you upgrade to the new Lexus RX330 that's coming out April 1.
Or were you able to get that waived off?
With excise tax of 6.4% in Texas, your Tag, Title, and Tag will be about $1800?
My fried just bought a Hilander for $28K and her TTT was about $2,000.
I'm glad the excise tax in Oklahoma is only 3.25%, Tag of $90 for new car, and Title of $11.
On January 29, 2003 (the last Wednesday of the month), I faxed a request-for-quotes to 26 dealers in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and my home state of Delaware. Whew!!! I did not fax my 2 closest local dealers (Union Park Honda in Wilmington, DE and Martin Honda in Newark, DE). I wanted to give the local dealers a chance to counter the best "long distance" offer in exchange for letting them know that I would be bringing the vehicle in to them for service (and saving myself perhaps a long distance trip to pick up the vehicle)
I received 10 responses to my fax within 3 hours (most responses were by phone). I received a total of 15 responses within 24 hours, 11 didn't respond at all for a response rate of 58%. 6 or 7 dealers were still quoting MSRP+. New Jersey and Maryland dealers seemed to be the worst on price. The best quote I got back was $28,500 ($1,860 below MSRP) from Frederick Honda in Hershey, PA. I relayed this quote to the two local dealers. They did not meet or beat that quote...initially.
I used a credit card to make a deposit with Frederick Honda. Delivery was scheduled for February... then mid March... then late March. I was starting to get worried (I never asked for a VIN#), but in the meantime, I received a phone call Union Park who said they had my exact vehicle on the lot and would sell it for $28,400 ($1,041 over invoice / $1,960 below MSRP) -- beating the best offer by $100. The deal was completed on March 15th 2003. No pressure, and Union Park let me charge $3000 to my credit card to get those bonus miles!
Maybe I was able to score a good deal since I was told after the deal closed that they had 3 Sage Ody's on their lot (somehow due to the recent snows)
Feel free to email me (stinky_bokinky@SPAM.SUXyahoo.com)if you wanna chat -- you can figure out what to remove.
Congratulations on a great buy!
Enjoy your new Odyssey.
Just out of curiousity, did you consider the '04 Sienna?
Thanks for your consideration!

But I'm in Alaska this week and couldn't have met you for coffee anyway :-)
Steve, Host
6 disc changer, Roof rack, Cargo cover, Cargo mat, Mudguards from
Honda Carland Roswell, GA. Drive out price $32600.00.
All price negotiations where done through email.
Got my pricing info at consumersreports.org. I was told it would take
6 – 8 weeks to take delivery. My wife wanted Havasu Blue but we were told Honda stopped using that color in March/03. So we opted for Red.
IT'S A GREAT VEHICLE!
Chowmaumau1, looks like you got the best deal of anyone on your Odyssey! Congrat and enjoy!
2003 Sagebrush EXL with John Eagle Price at $27,161.00 plus TT&L is only $1700 below MSRP. and they are pretty proud of THAT PRICE.
I am still looking for a local dealer that will go invoice ($24,663 + destination charge) but that sure is not looking likely. tthhbb difficult dealers.
damn those honda dealers.. they sold u a van w/o wheels! no wonder you got a good deal:)
Now how do u plan to take ur new odessey home?
Very funny.
The Navigation system is very cool, and I think 9gikeve5 will enjoy that tremendously. It's so cool I leave it turned on all the time when I drive, especially at night.
One other option I got was the chrome license plate frame.
As far as wheels, the EX-L NAV already comes with alluminum alloy wheels, so 9gikeve5 must have upgraded to something fancier.

Dealer is pushing us to closed the deal this weekend. However we can't if there are no vans. We have instructed them that if we can not do it this weekend, it has to be done next weekend. Placing the orders under Aprils numbers and not March.
I am concerned about if we can't meet the deadline what will happened to our offer, but that is another story.
My question is, do you know from experience how good are these eta? Granted it is just that E T A. However, are they likely to come early or late?
Dealer desitination is Yonkers NY.
J.
But yes, the Navigation system rules! I've lived in Oklahoma City for 24 years, and I know just about every corner and street in this metro area, so of course, I don't realy need the NAV. But Damn it, it is the coolest thing out there. I love driving at night and seeing that beautiful thing glow in the dark. It shows the small creek water, ponds, and lakes as I drive by. It shows everything. It even shows the car in front of me----just kidding.
I told my wife that every car we buy in the future must have the NAV.
Andrew, never doubted 1 second that you do love you Navi. And if you have the goods to spend for it, then why not. Like you said it is a $2000 toy, but if it doesn't set you back then why not reward yourself. We all might be grownups, but deep down inside, "I don't want to grow, I just want to be a....." Enjoy
First Character denotes the country and the second character denotes the manufacturer name, right?
Does it mean that FORD makes this van for Honda?Would someone please explain? This is very urgent. I am planning in buying the odyssey in the next 48n hours.
J.
Was the vehicle off of the lot? I really think Honda has something going on, every dealer I dealt with in the past is harassing me this week. If not, see if you can get the VIN# assigned to you already. Otherwise, I have to assume that they will be ordering it for you.
My last call today was from the very first dealer I had contacted. A cousin of a family friend who said he would take care of us. Back in January, taking care of us meant he offered us MSRP, wow. Anyway, he calls again today, and says the usuall greeting. He then says he can still offer me MSRP and he has the vans. Now why would I jump to his offer for MSRP, when I nearly had a heart attack the first time he offered it. And why bother wasting my time only to offer MSRP. Was he hoping that by now I would have been screwed so many times that I would be willing to pay MSRP. If I got screwed by every Honda dealer, I would have gone to the Sienna or the T&C.
I began the communications for my deal last friday, and the owner said he could provide us with VIN# for each vehicle, which he did. From there, I called up honda, verified that the VIN# was legitimate and it was for that dealership and the correct type of vehicle. Then they went on to give me a time line of the vehicle. FYI, mine was this, on the rail March 14, UNLOADED March 25, ETA for delivery April 1.
So as you can see from my dates, your dealership should already have a VIN#.
I am not trying to scare you, I am just trying to keep you informed. I hope the above helps you.
NOW, just to give this a twist, there is one dealership I have kept in touch but have always gotten an offer for a lower discount. However we always do have a great conversation. He says that those eta's mean squat. He says he still have vehicles pending with eta as far back as February. Now he could have said this only to scare me, and make me think that these cars will never come in, but come to him instead because he physically has them. I tend to think that he is just a fast talker, and tries to undermine his competition. So I feel fairly good that the van will come in, in a matter of days.
