-It rides and handles better. There is only a very solid feeling thump when you hit a bump.
-Most important, all the rattles and creaks disappear for the most part. Bumpy, smooth, or any type of road, the whole car seems like it much tighter and solid-feeling in the rain. Even, the constant rattle/buzz behind the guages disappeared!
This seems very strange that it takes rain to make me fall in love again but what the hell?!
I was still thinking about possibly trading it in later this year for a 2001 but I don't think I can afford it. The price after trade was $17,000 and I have a loan for that much. It's a 60-month loan. I've made four or five payments so far. I wish I could figure out a way, but I just don't think it is possible. What could this car sell for?
Hey beach15..move to Seattle! But serioiusly, humidity typically causes expansion of materials. Cold winter air is very dry, so on those sunny winter days everything was about as constricted as it could get. Now that you've got some expansion things have snugged up. At least you know you're not going nuts.
Any opinions?
Race doesnt deserve a flag---you have to earn it race, just like the spider!
This car was blown around by crosswinds so much my wife asked me to drive. What a pleasure it was to get behind the wheel of my beloved Silver Bullet today! I'm looking forward to finding out how the JetChip experiment works out for our more adventurous posters.
Regards, Silver
Speaking of the Club, we're already getting dealers signed up for our 10% discount program; I'm probably heading to my 5* tomorrow to recruit them (before I go in for my 15K service). I'm expecting that my Club dues are going to provide a handsome return!

On another note, I was able to order the side maker lights from a chrysler dealer in Canada, have them shipped to my office mate's mothers house in Halifax, then she'll send them to me. All those hoops to leap through just to get some lights, sheesh thats DC for ya!
I have the aget interior so I don't think it would look out of place, the only think I don't like is #1, it sticks on instead of take panel off and replace with new one, and #2 cost of complete kits... Carbon is aroud $300 for essentialy a glue on look, if it was to replace panels, I'd be willing to pay more.........
Just some thoughts!
As denverm leaked, the 300M Enthusiasts Club will soon have a sexy new threaded message board. Hang onto your hats.
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to saving 10% on my 15K service in a month or so. Good way to get your club dues back in a hurry dudes.
Check us out: http://www.300mclub.org and watch the participating dealer list grow. When you become a member, you become the Clubs ambassador in inviting your dealer to join the program. They are absolutely EAGER to participate, because we're giving something they need, new business and happy customers.
Racefan: never knew you were Italian? Isn't that an Italian flag you're sporting?
Anyone have this problem and how was it corrected.
Also my drivers window is getting noisier--clicking noise when you raise and lower it --anyone have this problem.
My next step is to go after State Farm for the "diminished value" claim.
I am planning on taking the car out on I-95 this weekend for a shakedown run. Hope there are no issues/problems.
I will try to post some photos of the before and after repair shots.
Any suggestions on things to keep an eye out for following the repairs?
The repairs consisted on replacing hood, right quarter panel, entire front cowling/grill, lights, radiator, battery, other miscellaneous items on right front corner. No frame damage!!
Any insight would be appreciated.
Glad to be back in my M!!
Hopefully you can get 2-4 grand for the decreased value. This would be a major bonus as your resale value shouldnt be affected very much if you keep it for at least 5 years. Less than that and it might make a difference if they find out about the accident.
I sold a lincoln that had been hit more than once and I didnt have a problem with selling it. It was 7 years old and in excellent condition. The car looked so good that the buyer never even asked if it had been in an accident.
Just be sure to check the seams for proper alignment of panels. And listen for any rattles. Make sure car drives straight by taking your hands off the wheel on a level road.
Good luck on your fighting the value issue.

Easy i like the red white and blue, partriotic yet different from all the rest...
When I bought my M in Dec. 98, my dealer (they earned a free plug) Carson C/P/D/J in Plainfield, IN provided discounted oil changes for the life of the car. They charge for the Mopar oil filter plus $1 oil disposal fee. I just got my 18th oil change for $7.50 each.
I had that clicking noise on the driver's window too way back. Tell your "award winning 5-STAR" dealer to check this out in their computer!
