Also noticed that the 300M Enthusiasts Club message board has become much more active lately. And the layout is very convenient to help find discussions about specific topics.

You have to register before you can post a message but dont have to be a member of the club to use the board.
I noticed here on Edmunds that we are no longer in the top 10 list on Town Hall. Hopefully soon we will be back on top. If I recall, the 300M has more total posts than any other topic in Town Hall---OK guys, start your postings and put us back on top!

A 99' Forest Green Beauty with 39K miles. Have nothing but praises for "MissM" so far.
I did alot of research before purchasing this vehicle and have read every post on this board! Lots of good info on here, and alot of good people too! Could not find anything to discourage me from my purchase. "True" some folks have had some misfortunes, but so do some owners of any automobile built.
Well, I just wanted to jump in here and get my feet wet and say hi. Look forward to chatting with you all.

It's a really simple mod, but you should have the 2001+ type tail lights, since they have three of the 3157 large style dual filament bulbs. The 99 set I have, has a little single filament bulb in the middle for the nightime running light.
Man That Sucks!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry to hear that. How many miles do you have? I have just over 5K miles & my CL-S seems fine. Also I found out from one of my sources that Rick Case doesn't have the best service. Ed Morse is supposed to be the better dealer for service.
Have you taken a look at the club website yet? You should give it a look if you have'nt.

I hope you join the Club. Great organization.

So far Rick Case has been good although I am not crazy about driving a 4-banger Dodge Stratus.
However I have not heard from them since I dropped of my car there. I guess I'm gonna call and see what's up.
I think I have that headlight switch problem some of you have mentioned -- but I don't know if anyone has had this specific problem. At dusk on my way home from work, I frequently drive with the parking and fog lights on (no headlights). Last week, twice while waiting to get on the freeway, I noticed a reflection in the car in front of me that looked like my lights were blinking on an off. The first time I moved the switch to off and back again to full headlights, etc. , then back to the fogs/parking lights only, and it did it again almost immediately. 2nd time (on another day) it stopped after I played with the switch. This weekend as I was waiting at a stop sign and I had the fog/parking lights on I could hear a clicking noise from the switch (no one was in front of me to see a reflection, but I assume the lights were blinking again). The noise stopped after I played with the switch again. I'm wondering if it only happens when I'm stopped. Or am I driving down the road lots of times with my fog lights blinking? Anyone else experience anything like this?
For an explanation of why it is that way and suggestions on how to work with the realities of its shortcomings, you might want to read this: pat "Lost in the Town Hall? Ask the Sedans Host for directions!" Nov 13, 2001 12:49pm.
Unfortunately, it is something we just have to live with.

PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS ASKING IF THEY CAN GO OUTSIDE AND SEE IT!! Yesterday, an older guy she works with asked if he could go out and see it and when she looked, he had everything open and was sitting inside looking at all the buttons and smiling. Then, today, a customer asked if he could see it and she unlocked it because she knew him, and before long, he was climbing all through it too! People love our big black beast!
But, our favorite feature would have to be the Onstar! She just loves talking to one of the Onstar people or doing a phone call through the speakers with the touch of a button! It's so cool!
Tell your mom to remember to tell OnStar what configeration the truck is in so that they can spot it. LOL Boys (Men) always like thing like the transformers. I think it is in their blood to want to change things.
Chrysler parts offers a 2000 lb. class 1 hitch for a 300 that just bolts on easily. ( I've had mine off and on a couple of times to modify it).
They also have a lighting adapter module and harness, (to couple multi lamp brake/signal circuits to single lamp trailer lights).

Not from Chrysler parts but I suspect some bike shops would have them.

It is kind of like doctors charging you 100 dollars for an office visit, just to look at you. I tell them that I do not look that bad, that they have to charge me. I think I look pretty good. Maybe I should charge them. I wonder of glamor models have to pay for a doctor to see them?????????
What's more important for 0-60 times? Horsepower or torque?
I always thought that the more torque you have the faster you'll get off the line. But you need lots of horsepower to get a higher top speed. Is this correct?
By the way, nice web site. Big Red sure looks good!!!
I have not experienced this but have an idea of what may be wrong.
The clicking noise your hearing is probably the fog lamp relay which is located in the fuse compartment on the drivers side end dash. A loose relay or light corrosion on the relay pins or relay terminal block could cause a poor connection and induce the flashing light symptom.
Simply re seating the fog lamp relay may cure the problem. Another thing I would try is swapping the fog lamp relay with the park lamp relay or high beam relay. If the problem moves to the park lamps then you know the relay is bad. I would be cautious swapping with the head lamp relay as you wouldn't want to be cruising with the main candles flashing on and off...lol
If you want to try this I can send you a diagram identifying the associated relays. If it is not a relay problem you could be looking at a faulty ground circuit, bad connection between the head lamp switch and body control module, faulty switch or faulty body control module.
Hopefully it is just a simple and inexpensive relay.
