Sorry, Paisan. I never even knew I had to sign it. What's different at the DMV on Monday vs. today? Man, I feel terrible. I wish they could have gotten you a temp tag or something to go run it around a little.

    Jim

edit: I'm willing to do that power of attorney if it'll help. I'll be here for another hour or so (3:40 pm CDT)

they changed the law a few years ago here in Kansas, if a sale occurs below $10,000 and there is no lien you do not require a notary signature. you still need the seller's signature, though.

    that stinks, Mike.

Can we say a larger gentleman's WRX. Once we put the WRX Turbo, MBC and IC it'll be about as quick as a WRX. Car is immaculate. Many many thanks to Jimmy for selling it to me.

so, what's the 'pre' specs on it - hp torque, etc. And what will be the 'after' specs?

    -Brian
  • jimmyp1jimmyp1 Member Posts: 640
I was biased. Stock hp = 160, torque = 181. The 2.2t engine is known to be the strongest and most overdesigned Subaru engine, capable of 250 hp at a minimum, more like 350. My guess is that Paisan will be around 225-240 just with a new turbo and intercooler and turning up the boost. Add in some bigger injectors, engine management, and some other stuff and he's at the upper end of what I said above.

My biggest like of the car was its overall balance of power and handling. It sits low on its stock tires and wheels. Paisan will get it back down where it needs to be. It's like a go cart. It pulls strong at highway speeds even in stock form, that was another like of mine. It'll only get better with Paisan.

Got a big grin here in Texas, Paisan, have fun. And again, I'm very sorry I didn't see to sign that title. Let me know if I can help.

actually the cylinder heads on the 91-94 legacy turbo flow very poorly compared to the WRX heads. you will not make the same power as a WRX with the same turbo & assortied goodies, running the same boost... even with a 10% displacement advantage.

but that technical bit aside that is one OUTSTANDING example of a car. wow.

They say that with about 15-16psi boost on a stock wrx turbo and IC and DP and MBC you can get about 240 crank HP. Either way it will be a fun commute. The pictures don't do it justice. I'm thinking of keeping the seats in it, as they are pretty comfy.

but very few if any will argue with the strength of the deck. Have you seen the repair on the front left fender where the wheelbarrow hit it? If you look at it in the right light, you can see the.....ahem..."economy" repair that the shop down the street did. They were very cheap and they painted the hood too, including the blending into the adjacent panels that you talked about elsewhere, Paisan, all for $400, but their bondo (or whatever they use) work and sanding left a little bit to be desired. Not bad, but they didn't make it invisible. On the flip side, they did a very good job of matching colors for a ten year old car (8 at the time) with a darkish glossy color. Have fun with it Paisan. I always wondered where it would baseline for AWHP before mods, are you going to do that?

will you check in the owner's manual and confirm for me that the original window sticker is in there? If not, then there's another file around here somewhere. I don't remember seeing it in the package I fedexed you.

Hey jimmy question, was your ABS light on? Cause it is now, just trying to figure out if you had the fuse pulled or what not. Thanks.

occasions. It's the left front sensor, and it's gunked up from one of two things (1) magnesium chloride deicer on Colorado interstates or (2) axle grease from when my boots went bad on the front axle (fixed now, of course - only ~10k miles ago). Now here's where I will differ from a lot of people on this board....contrary to all manufacturer's literature and everyone's real world experiences, the ABS system functions just fine with that light on...two panic stops over the last year or so due to the moronic Houston drivers I have to encounter on occasion proved that to me. You can here it, you can feel it, and there was absolutely no wheel lockup on that or any other corner, so, I didn't fix it. If it bothers you, go for it. I've heard you can find the part for as little as $50, but retail is something like $200. I actually asked them to fix it for me once, and they "forgot" and I just never got around to taking it back. You want to know another little tidbit of info that I was thinking about? How's this for quality control....?.....every bulb on that car is original from 10 years ago. Amazing. So, did you find the original window sticker I was asking about?

    Jim
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
but will look tonight. I don't think it was in the glove box. I'll try cleaning the ABS sensor and see what happens.

Jimmy's Legacy went to it's first auto-x today. Even on the stock suspension and RE92s it did well. My guess is I'll finish about 4th or 5th in class. Beat only by well prepared civics and golfs and a national champ driving an escort.

So far so good, pics of it in front of Giant's Stadium should be up tonight.

    Texas in the hizzzouse!

What did you think of the gearing, Paisan? I always thought 1st gear was too short, even with the taller WRX wheel/tire combo, and "only" 160 hp. It's REALLY short with the stock setup. Curious. 2nd is a sweet gear, which should have been good for what you were doing. Those RE92's will be shot in no time, so I expect shorter sidewalls on there soon, yes?

    Jim
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
1st gear got me to the 2nd cone, then after that it was 2nd gear all the way to the end of the course. Just like driving my AT!

I'm gonna burn up the RE92 ASAP and then get some shorter/wider rubber on there. May go for some 215-45-16 Azenis :)

Have to figure out which sway bars work on it.

Finally got it registered yesterday. Always a chore. So no more TX plates for it :(

It did well in the snow yesterday even with the RE92s.

Debating new vanity plates for it.

Thinking AWD 4ME2 or AWD 4MI to compliment the plates on the SVX that say AWD 4ME

Could be. Although if possible I'd like to keep the 6 digits so I can put the state logo between the AWD and the 4MI.

How else to compliment the SVX's AWD 4ME but with
