Last time he flew in from California and I took the day off of work to go to the first showing. But I'm just not that much of a geek anymore, lol. I'm still realllllly excited, but kids change priorities I guess.
It does look really good though, and I think it will kick butt over Episode I.
MaltB,
I was answering multiple questions. No one is preparing you any food. They are preparing it for Meade.
12.9gal.
31.1mpg!!!!!!!!!
Same Shell station and same 87 octane pump.
2001 Protege ES 2.0 automatic. I see 27-28mpg on my daily commute but I tried driving around 65mph instead of my usual 70-80mph (and 2-3 daily trips to redline) and I finally cracked 400 miles on one tank.
The only thing of note is that I have Mobil 1 in the engine and 35psi all around which may or may not make a difference.
Has anyone done any better than 31.1mpg with the auto 2.0?
Oh, mine is manual also.
Meade
Meade
and 99-00 Proteges have 13.2 gallon tanks, for those that don't know ;-)
Are we talking flat panel LCD or just a CRT monitor?
Meade
Of course, that doesn't mean I'm not in awe. I don't think my TV is even that big.
(And hey, I have a 36-inch TV at home ... I refuse to make the jump to anything bigger because that would be a projection TV, and I hate them. My 36-inch Toshiba is still a by-God CRT!)
Is funny though, come to think of it ... this monitor is two inches bigger than the TV I had in my living room until I got the 36-inch last January, LOL!
Meade
Have to admit though, I do like the large monitor for my work (some CAD), even though it's overkill for word-processing etc.
Now, what I'd like is that new 23in LCD that Apple's put out. It's supposed to be even brighter and more vivid than their 22, which I thought looked beautiful. Too bad they cost so much.
Meade
Meade, this is Dale.
Any questions?
:-)
Meade
No, snookums, I'm not ignoring you.
Would you really like me to go into my e-mail account and add up the minutes, the hours, the DAYS, that I've had to wait for responses from you?? (And you know I'd do it, too!)
Time for a PROTEGE question:
How many Protege owners does it take to change a lightbulb?
Now, on to more "important" things, like your dumb-assed riddle ...
THREE!
One to change the bulb, another to tell you that your replacement Japanese bulb was of inferior quality to his new German one and won't have as much resale value, and another to tell you you should've replaced it with a Bulb SI.
Meade
P.S. "smart a***"? Usually each asterisk replaces a letter ... so what's this? Smart Ants? Alpo? Acid?
I must have taken a wrong turn. I thought this was a discussion about Proteges.
;->
It was nice & hot... mid 90's. I'm kind of mad that I drove that far and didn't even get to meet the rat... I mean mouse. I'm not going to drive through WV again seeing I got a ticket on the way home (70 in a 50 zone). I'll talk to you more @ Thursday's chat.
======================================================================
Pat's section:
After driving 2000 miles(round trip,) the Protegé5 handled nicely, even though the vibrations from the tires(17" Kumho 712)started to get to me after 9 hours of non-stop driving.
Jason
I quote...
Highs: Athletic stride through the twisties, taut control responses, sporty cockpit feel, console perfectly shaped for painless bracing of your right leg.
Lows: Same low eye point as in sedan, (HUH?) buzzy vibrations at most speeds, loud engine
The verdict: A sports car in station wagon clothes.
I WAS talking about Proteges -- I was responding to Dale's question about how many Protege owners it takes to change a light bulb. I also posted a bunch of information this morning on this topic, and on the Protege5 topic, about MAPP III. Still haven't heard from you on your possible attendance ...
Good to hear from you!
Meade
What do they want? SUV height visiblity??
Now, if Dale had asked "how long would it take to change the light bulb," we Protege owners could've said "10 minutes, unless it's German ... then it takes at least two weeks and needs a rubber treatment."
LOL
I'm outta here for the day, guys (much to Pat's dismay, I'm sure ;-) ) -- so everyone have a great zoom home tonight, and I'll see you tomorrow -- NINE DAYS TILL MAPP III!!! Be there or be in the river!!!
Meade
When I saw that I about died:).
(If anyone cares, I once scored 32.7 mpg on a 2.0 automatic - in the 300-lb heavier 626. Repeat: once.)
Meade
P.S. THREE POSTS LAST NIGHT EVERYONE? Poor ... POOR!!!
Actually, I had kind of wished that the Protege sat just a tad higer. When you're a little shrimp (height-wise, anyway), every little bit helps.
But once I started driving it, I didn't notice any visibility problems.
Perhaps Car & Driver said it best back in May 2000 (pulled from the article on their website):
"The seat knows exactly how the orthopedist told you to sit. It's easy to find a good driving position in this car."
Meade
While it's not 4x4 pickup truck height, I think my Pro5 has a very high eye height for a small car.
Anyhoo, yeah, the P5 does sit a couple to few inches shorter. Still, in a PT Cruiser, Matrix or anything like that, I still couldn't see over or around an Explorer/Expedition/Excursion/Excavator/Excessivator thingimajig. Given that, I'd prefer to hug the road (not scrape it, as in an MR2) than feel all tippy in the turns.
