Shipping was around $30 but that's air to Hawaii. Ground should be much cheaper. My Denali is a '00 which is the old style. Was glad I got that one too since reading the initial problems that came out with the new generation Yukons and Tahoes. The new generation Denali followed in '01 a year later....hmmmmm...did GM know something?

There's this guy in town that specialized in speedometers and odometers. Was planning on giving him a call to see how much he would charge...Course could always go the way of the door tag...will have to see how much he wants to reset the odometer first. It is kind of a pain cause you have to take both old and new down...and this guy is kinda old and a one man gang so who knows how long he will take....

What does the Denali cluster have that would make one go out and buy it?
  • eric2001eric2001 Member Posts: 482
The coloring is different. And yea, I have been actually looking at the Escalade cluster... Sorry about the confusion.

gotta warn us young people before opening up the 2000 picturetrail page. I forgot it was carmine. haha

Nice truck what kinda grill is that? Looks real good
  • mpalombompalombo Member Posts: 186
Thanks, It's a Street Scene speed grill. The website is http://www.streetsceneeq.com

I forget how much it cost, around 130 I think. It was easy to install too, only warning that I would post is that you can see the factory grill behind it. I did not care about the factory grill so I cut it out. They recommend painting it black or cutting it out.

They have a new style now, mine is a diamond shape. The holes on the new one now are shaped like little bowties, I like it. You can also see them on http://www.stylinconcepts.com or http://www.performanceproducts.com

About the Carmine, I meant to say something...it must have slipped my mind... haha.

yep first thing you lose when you get old is your memory hehe ask tim about that
  • txyank1txyank1 Member Posts: 1,010
"your" Black Billet grille at Pep Boys over the weekend. $80. Now the one they had was for the old body style but I'd assume the new one should be about the same. Steel Horse brand.

SINCE AUGUST? Holy crap thats a long time hope you get the job. I have a few applications in but who wants a part time college kid? Especially when they see what i was getting paid for my internship they dont think ill work for less :(
  • mpalombompalombo Member Posts: 186
Thanks, the phone interview went great. They are calling me later today to set up a face to face interview.

I set up a database on my Palm when this first started to track my resumes. Believe it or not I have sent out 94 resumes. Those resulted in 3 interviews. This one that I am currently trying to get. One didn't want me. And one offered me the job and I accepted. Two days before I was supposed to start they called me and said that the main office called and said there was a hiring freeze. They recently laid off a bunch of people.

Unemployment runs out the second week of Feb. If I don't find anything before then I am going to have to go work for a store or something. I really hope I get this one!

I hope you get something soon.

Do you by chance know if part time people get unemployment?
  • mpalombompalombo Member Posts: 186
I'm not sure but even if I was the laws may be different in Indiana than they are in New Hampshire. You could probably look in the phone book and look for the State Department of Employment or something like that and call them and ask. Or if you call your local town or city hall they could tell you who to call.

    Good Luck.

Yes i know where the local place is. Probably take a ride there thursday
  • tomh12tomh12 Member Posts: 240
Please stay out of the "unemployable" line...Even if you qualify, you can earn more doing most anything. How about going to work for the local chevy dealer detailing new or used cars and trucks? Or cleaning up the repair shop if you can't get a job as a mechanic/trainee? Or how about a job at a local truck parts store? Or how about installing stereos or selling computers? Is the job market really that bad where you live? How about construction labor for some of the guys whose trucks you used to load? If you really need a job, do anything rather than taking that unemployment check. Just my .02 worth.

i have a few applications in trust me id rather not sit at home (school is starting next wk). A break from workm might be nice for a little bit however. Id like to go to the gym a little bit

The area i am in is pretty bad. Over 2000 steel workers have been laidoff in the past 2 months.

I's wondering, my ol '99 LT had head rests that would adjust. Is there a replacement available for LS models? I thought you guys would know and save me some time searching around.

    Thanks ahead,

Why so defensive on the TOTY page?I really don't know what the hypertext language thing does.My take on farmer_rube is that he (she?)im better educated than I am ,and is a caracature of...of me.I'm someone that works them trucks and knows which ones got the hual in 'em.I have a 10th grade education and have been earning a living since I was 16.

BTW;mind my own business?I thought the whole point to this forum was for strangers to respond to eachother's posts for entertainment and education.Am I wrong?

I don't mind if anyone comments on what I post. What disturbs me is the comments that followed my HTML remark. It tells me that Scorpio doesn't know what he is talking about...and you agreed with him. Here it is in context:

    #202 of 225 obyone by sc0rpi0 Jan 06, 2002 (06:31 pm)

In case you don't realize it, posting a message here does NOT require a working knowledge of html.

In fact, it doesnt require knowing what html is.

All you need to do is that you need to move the critter on your desk and press few keys.

Yep,thats how I do it.Wat's "hypertext markup language"

    kip

Perhaps I took it the wrong way...but it sure looks like you agreed with Scorpio....

I addressed the post to ndahi12 who couldn't figure it out. If scorpio or yourself had anything constructive to say...that's fine...in the case of the aforementioned posts, it doesn't seem like it. What Scorpio nor yourself noticed, farmer's post had a portion in BOLD type. You think a farmer driving a 52 chevy would know how to do that? He also was one of the first to place pictures in his posts....

It's just one of those "been there, done that, got the T-shirt" sorta deals. I've lived a lot of places, from Newfoundland to the South Pacific. Don't want to go back to Newf country, but also can't handle anywhere with high rises running several miles back from the beach; no matter how nice the climate. Besides, when was the last time you got a paid snow day off from work.

Ryan must be getting tooooooo excited using his new Dell that he forgets to proof read his content.

Actually the tow strap shackle attachment for the receiver is a good idea to have... but the Z would have to have more juice to use it in the deep stuff....haha

    good luck on this one

Don't get your panties in a wad....wasn't directed to you. Was directed to Ryan and was intended to convey that I think a college student who lives at home that loses his job should not draw unemployment benefits as long as he is able bodied. Working hard, with a good attitude, at ANY job, will get him a better job, sooner than waiting for the "perfect" job and drawing a check for doing nothing. I consider people who won't take an available job because it doesn't pay MORE than unemployment benefits, to be "unemployable". They are unwilling to work their way up. I am talking about unskilled labor...(No offense, Ryan). I know Ryan is not afraid to get his hands dirty and there is a lot a future engineer can learn working at the "dirty hands" level of construction, auto repair, plumbing, etc. that will help him in the future more than drawing "unemployable" benefits.

For probably $30 you have just provided yourself with your next career....."Ryan's Towing Service"

You need to get someone to ride in the passenger seat with dirty coveralls and tobacco juice running down their chin....your girlfriend will NOT work for this.

    LOL

...I understand what ya meant....and agree

yeah....the "ultimate" job may not be there now....but do something meantime....

..although I understand some people just can't get back into a job sometimes.....period...

I have never taken an un-employ check..and hope I never have to.....but understand those who do..

every fast food joint and tons of stores are dying to have more employees...as well as gas stations looking for someone to push the buttons for $12.50 an hour...

one guy told me...."but I haven't had time off in a while..."

welcome to life after high school...summer vacation is over!

Sorry about being snappy. Being out of work and trying to get a job for so long is getting to me. I may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel though, I have an interview Friday for a really great position at a great company. The "unemployable" benefits run out in Feb. I may have to go to McDonalds or something. I really hope it doesn't come to that. No offense to those who work at McD's.

    Again, I'm sorry.

Can you believe i am on my feet? Spent most of the day on my back or rolling down the hill haha. Overall it was fun. Wish i had a snowmobile though so many trails would have been more fun

Overall fun day might turn this into a yearly event

My gf got really good by the end of the day. She could make it down the hill without falling. Now she wants to move to colorado.

She won't like it Ryan. Acid rain, ozone, bears etc. No good.
