    I'm all confused, Raymond.

Paul and I just got finished chatting. I thought you weren't going to be there until later.
  • meinradmeinrad Member Posts: 820
I left around 1:30, so I must have missed ya.
  • mdaffronmdaffron Member Posts: 4,421
    Now I'm gone.

    Where were you?

...people come and go so QUICKLY here!"

(Quick--name the movie that's from, and no fair using Google.)

Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.

Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don't they?

Maybe I should shut up then :)

am I a good witch or a bad witch? ;-)
  • dinu01dinu01 Member Posts: 2,586
    So the question should be:

    Which witch are you?

Okay, everybody get back to work!
  • meinradmeinrad Member Posts: 820
scared the crap out of me.

    Quit talking about it!

Anybody else see TTT last night?

I didn't think you guys lived under rocks. That's cool. :P
  • the_big_hthe_big_h Member Posts: 1,583
I am planning to see TTT very soon, hopefully sometime this weekend
  • protege_fanprotege_fan Member Posts: 2,405
If you've never read the book don't bother. Peter Jackson (PJ) was a little more than liberal in his interpretation of events.
  • maltbmaltb Member Posts: 3,572
Did you like FotR? I'm planning to take my son to TT on Saturday.
  • protege_fanprotege_fan Member Posts: 2,405
I enjoyed both FOTR and TTT...highly entertaining and visually stunning.

I don't want to give anybody any bias before seeing it though, so I'll just say go see it. It's definitely worth it.
  • Karen_SKaren_S Member Posts: 5,092
It was very tempting, but managed to resist going to the midnight show of TTT. Kids were begging....husband was begging...I'm such a Grinch...or an Orc?? Sheesh, having a major personality conundrum today. The "ring" will have to wait till this weekend.

    "...my pressshious..."
  • protege_fanprotege_fan Member Posts: 2,405
Gollum was incredible. Truly incredible...He stole the show IMO.
  • the_big_hthe_big_h Member Posts: 1,583
i say that all the time now, especially when talking about my cars... :-D
  • chicagoprochicagopro Member Posts: 1,009
    you're weird. :P
  • ashutoshsmashutoshsm Member Posts: 1,007
I didn't notice how active this boar had been (having not been on Townhall too regularly over the last few weeks) and the post count has doubled since then. Wow! My next post will address some older discussions ...
  • ashutoshsmashutoshsm Member Posts: 1,007
Chickoo - those Infiniti's are awesome. Tell us how you like them when they arrive. As to your center channel speaker construction - cool. But have you considered the effect connecting speakers in series will have on the impedance? Most amps/receivers handle a certain load at a certain impedance (usually listed at 4 or 8 Ohms) - connecting speakers together may mess with that rating big time, risking either a multi-speaker or an amp (or channel) blowout! Do a little research and look into impedance matching speakers (check google, for starters, and buy a couple of home theater magazines or read their website reviews)

Dale - sorry I missed out on all the harrassment (although don't assume I didn't mean I missed out on 'joining in with the harrassors', as opposed to 'coming to your rescue'!)

Dinu - congrats on the new house - it seems to be coming along pretty nicely at this stage. When will it be ready to move in (how long before you move out of your apartment lease?)

The whole post #500 discussion was reminiscent of the 10K wars on the Protege board!

LOTR - I'm halfway trhough my second reading (1st was ages ago - perhaps during middle earth!) and we're cutting out of work on Friday afternoon to go watch it. A bunch of my friends and colleagues are more enthused than I am, and I can hardly wait, either!

OK - that's about it, thanks for playing catch-up. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming ...
  • chicagoprochicagopro Member Posts: 1,009
Of course, I wouldn't expect you to come to my rescue.

Fortunately, I learned how to dish it back a long time ago. :P
  • dinu01dinu01 Member Posts: 2,586
Welcome back! I was wondering where you were. The house should be ready by Dec. 31, 2003 as per our builder. So far, they're on track. Thanx for asking.

    Another trip to Disney?

You should do a commercial for them!
  • krotinekrotine Member Posts: 93
you could be the director. Now how would this commercial go...?

    Take care while zoom-zooming.

    And stay warm, everybody!
  • chikoochikoo Member Posts: 3,008
long break....trying out my infinity IL30.
    Amazing sound.

I did check out the speaker impedances and its effects on my amplifier. Nothing to worry about. Only that I returned my Sony speakers and brought an Infinity center channel to go with my IL30's.

These speakers are not good for my heart, i tell you. I skipped quite a few (heart)beats listening to the gorgeous sound.

He left an Acura RSX-S under the tree. He took the Mazda Protege with him when he left, though. Thanks for the fun folks!

congrats darren! a truely excellent car you got there! Hope you'll enjoy it!
  • ashutoshsmashutoshsm Member Posts: 1,007
... at least in terms of interior appointments, quality, ergonomics and room ;)

I'd love to drive an RSX-S if it were right for me - congratulations! You'll probably have as much, if not more fun with it, as the Pro - and driving a rev-happy 6-speed in the Rockies should be fun as well :)

Be safe, and it was good having you around.

    ...you don't like the Eagles??
  • dinu01dinu01 Member Posts: 2,586
And a Happy New Year and all the best to everyone for the new year.

    Dinu
  • mdaffronmdaffron Member Posts: 4,421
And frankly I don't CARE about the Eagles, Dale. I was merely saying "BOO" because I'd been AWOL from the TH for 10 days.

    Keep up.

Just because you got rid of your Protege doesn't mean you can't hang out with us still! (I can think of one example ...)

Just don't start comparing your Acura with our Proteges; we may just have to tie up Paul and place him in a shipping container and FedEx him to you!

Hmmm, maybe just tying him up may make me decide to keep him here with me ...

The Protege posters are the only ones who generate any interesting discussion anyway.
