Yes, it will take some getting used to, since I currently get about 30 mpg in my '97 Mazda Protege, but I'm cool with it. I don't drive a car fast or hard.
Frankly, I am obsessed with this car. I spend hours each day searching for more photos, reading forums, reading customer reviews, and looking at the brochure I got at the dealer. I can't get enough.
I'm planning to buy the 2007 Limited in Sage green, beige interior, with the Ultimate package in just a few months. The salesman told me there will be a rebate on the 2007 Azera soon, so I'm holding out for that. And I should get XM.
I want to thank all of you for the information you have posted. It was very valuable. And, it helps me to feel confident in my purchase.
Any advice would be welcomed.

I have that exact color combination on my 06 Ultimate.
The car shows well, especially with the customn stripes I had hand painted.
The only negative about Sage Green is that it is not a color sold in the Korean market. Therefore, the Korean painted upgrade parts that are available on the internet sites are not available for my car. Such parts are the non "H" grille etc. As you are buying an 07, the lighted side view mirrors will be factory installed on your car.
The XM will be a great feature. If you can get a factory rebate, even better.
Thanks Again

I don't plan to do any upgrades or replacements, so the color works well. I want people to KNOW it's a Hyundai and be amazed.
I should mention that I have a friend who has owned a Sante Fe for some time and really likes it, so this helped to seal my decision to buy the Azera.
Floridabob1 - are your photos posted here somewhere?
I will attempt to post some this week.
Good luck!
Airbag light illumination is usually either from a faulty sensor or a computer fault, both warranty items. In either case it requires a dealer computer reset.
"Do not place any objects underneath the front seats as they could damage the seat track position sensor or interfere with the occupant classification system. Do not place any object that may cause magnetic fields near the front seat. These may cause a malfunction of the seat track position sensor."
Don't know if any of the above applies to the current problem , but it was interesting reading!...
Travel over the hills/mountains in Kentucky and Tennessee was painless, mileage did not seem to be affected at all in such sections, and with the great torgue available, the car only needed to downshift once in the whole trip.
My only complaint was that at the end of a long day, my rear was feeling it - the seat felt a bit underpadded.
I have had over twenty new cars in my lifetime and this one is the best. It is so much nicer than the Jag X-Type we traded. My first new car was a 1966 Chevelle SS396 and to all those who think the Azera needs more power, the SS ran high 14s in the quarter ( 360hp, 4 speed ) and so does the Azera. The Azera has a higher top end by about 15mph and get 2 to 3 times better mileage to boot. Motor on!
Glad you're enjoying your Azera though!!!
My eyes opened wide when I first read "rubber bladder". I thought that it was a cool new option for long drives.
Other than a bit more from the lumbar support, side bolsters would be nice too.
I am considering the Jag X-type and the Azera Limited w/Ultimate package. What do you like better on the Azera? Anything better on the Jag?
Thanks.
The ride on the Jag is much rougher if the roads you travel on are not perfect, although it does corner flatter. Interior noise level is a good deal higher in the Jag, and it's not as quick as the Azera, although the mileage in city driving is a little better. I would rate highway mileage as being about the same, 'though the Jag recommends 91 octane gas vs. regular for the Azera.
The main reason we traded ours, though, was the reliability issue. My son had an X-type with similar miles as ours, and when his tranny went south with a $7000 rebuild - my Jag was history.
No problems with my Azera...Also I getting an average of 26 mpg after several fill ups...Only 1100 miles on the Azera and it should improve with more miles
I got about $3500 off window price
I understand.
I have been considering buying the Azera for several months. I also have a tender butt & car seats need to be soft. It may sound humorous to many folks, but trust me, it ain't funny in the least...
I literally sat in the Azera for hours while parked in the dealers lot, doing a "butt test". I was a bit sore after 2 hours. First hour or so seemed OK. It took longer to really tell....
I have spent & wasted thousands of $$$ on cars in recent years that just caused a lot of pain & misery, looking for the right one. My basement is full of junkyard car seats & parts I have used to rebuild seats... It is easier to rebuild an engine that to get the seating just right. Ugh, it is a grind. I fully understand that the problem is me, and not the cars. However, for those looking for a comfortable car, they simply are not made the way they used to be. Remeber when Cadillac seats were like sitting in a comfortable living room chair? No more....
My favorite was a 1993 Sable. A totally unimpressive vehicle mechanically, but the seat & ergonomics were outstanding- at least for me.
My current plan is to buy an Azera replacement seat base from the dealer for a few 100 bucks, and rebuild it with soft springs like the older style (1993 Sable) seat design that is softer. If I succeed, I'll buy the Azera & install the modified seat. If the seat redesign does not work, I'm out a few hundred bucks- instead of yet another clunker that will cost me thousands to get out of (again).
I've been to several auto upholstry shops- those guys can add foam, etc. But they have minimal ability to really affect the seat comfort- I find that the comfort is in the base, not the foam cushioning.

WOW! And I thought that I was anal.
There are aftermarket seat manufacturers like RECARGO. Some will even build custom seats, molded to your butt.
These are used by NASA and some fighter planes and race cars.
It might be cheaper to have your butt modified.

You can get back a bit of the gas you use in city driving by coasting up to stop sign and lights, although if there's anyone behind you, they won't care for your driving style.
To achieve any where close to 26 mpg, a driver must be very carefull and drive in areas with no hills.
I am seeing 27-29 for longer highway driving up to 80MPH at times. (Now have about 4K on mine). It is harder for me to believe that the majority of owners are getting 20 or less than him getting 26. On the 07's at least, I just find that very hard to believe. Certainly, I would expect those getting the low numbers are complaining versus those getting 21-22+, but I do not equate the few who are so upset they get on a board to complain, with the majority of owners who don't even know there is a forum, let alone post on one.
This was based on driving 1000 miles in 07 Azera. I live in Wisconsin and drive 80% of the time is On the Interstate. Want better mileage? No jack rabbit starts no hard braking not trying to pass ever car on the road .. I know it’s hard to do this at times because this car is so responsive. The last car I owned was a 04 XG350 and on a 4000+
mile trip to California I averaged 28.7 mpg and that included driving a lot in L.A.
22-23 is what I'm regularly getting in "mixed" driving for my location, with nearly 8,000 miles on the car. I did get 26 mpg for a Walt Disney world trip of about 125 miles one-way, but there were several opportunities to "show off"
This is a Korean site that has been known to obtain sketches. Great looking car with Infiniti and BMW cues

X-type sales, though, were greater than all other Jaguars combined.
The air quality switch when in the "Auto ON" position allows the air sensor to detect foul air. It will signal the flap to close allowing the cabin air to recirculate. If the sensor does not detect foul air it will not activate the flap and bring in outside air to the cabin.
In-town average MPG is 23.5; I run the numbers manually, and compare to the computer. The ride is quiet -- no dreaded clunk, ever.
Cruising round-trip from suburban northwest Denver to Santa Fe, NM, the average MPG was 28. I set the cruise at 80; bear in mind I drove through several mountain passes in the high desert.
The dealer replaced the silver-tone door protectors that run across both doors. The end near the rear wheels was loose on both sides of the car.
I do very much wish the car had an iPOD port; that's about it.
Motor On!
Susan
I noticed my drivers side door trim- protector strips on both front and rear door seem to be lifting out of the strips. I assumed it was the winter ice getting behind the trim and expanding. I'll have the dealer look at mine on the next oil change to see if the entire strip needs to be replaced or if there is a way for the body shop to press them back in. This is the first and only flaw I have had with this car in seven months & 14K miles.
Love that Shiftronic in the mountains, we hit Blackhawk probably once a week. I also noticed the very ends of the silver strip lifting. I thought they were supposed to be that way, lol. I will check also.
