I dealt with BMW Fort Myers. The salesman Pat B[non permissible content removed] was great. Everything done over email or phone and only took 30 min when I arrived to complete paperwork and go over car. The best car buying experience I ever had. I had never used the forum before but it would not have been possible without their great information. If you call there let him know I sent you. Gary G.

Tax is 9% here. And yes, thanks for confirming that the shady dealer is making me pay extra upfront amount.

Can you run the math for me using:
    RV 62%
    MF .0013
    MSRP $62,825
    Selling price $52,825, and
    Drive-off (1st month, acq, title & registration) $2100.

What would be the monthly payment including tax?

This is essentially $2000 less than offer that yielded $599/month. Wonder how that affects the payment?

Anyone have thoughts on this deal?

    $505/mo. + 9% tax = $550/mo.

I was able to get this deal. $550/month including tax for a 2014 535i M-Sport with premium package, rear view camera, and PDC. All the numbers are within a few bucks of what was estimated above. I think I did quite well, but there could have been a few more hundred dollars left on the table if I wanted to squeeze every last bit out. Thanks for your help on this forum!

Base MF is .00129, so the dealer is marking that up on you for extra profit.

The tax obligation in Texas for leases is onerous and will inflate your payment greatly, unless the dealer offers you a tax credit to offset.

Trying to lease a 2014 528xi (36 month, 12k miles per year) with an MSRP of $57,425. I got the dealer down to $470/month (includes 6% tax) with $3875 for inception fees broken down as follows:

    First Payment: $470 (includes tax)
    License fees: $250
BMW Bank Fee: $975 (includes tax)
    Tax on downpayment: $180
    Down payment: $2000

Is this a good deal or do you think I should be getting them down lower?

Hello! Was hoping you could post the MF/Res for a 2014 550i sedan. Looking for 36/10k. Also, was wondering if BMWFS does 7,.500 mile leases.

    Thanks much in advance!

Hard to say ... what is the negotiated selling price?

We are not fans of making a down payment on a lease .. if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out the money. $2000 would increase your payment by about $56/mo ($59 with tax) - $530 or so. Still a great payment on a $57K car.

You should look into making MSDs to lower your MF.

Trying to lease a 528i xDrive and wanted to see if I was getting a good deal:
    2014 528i xdrive, 10K Miles, MSRP $58,225, NYS Vehicle
    Monthly Payment - $459.33

All in, $7637 down (taxes, first payment, fees), further reduced by the last two payments on old car ($600), for total down of $7,037

    Money Factor - .00149
    Residual - 61%
    Selling price of $51,770
    Cap Reduction of $5,100
Taxes upfront in NYS - $1,893.11 (including cap reduction taxes)
Other Fees (insp, plates doc fees, etc. - $185

    Is this a good deal?
  • e90me90m Member Posts: 30
Honestly - that is not all that great. Selling price is pretty decent but MF is being marked up and why not use MSDs? You get that money back at the end. Cap cost reductions paid by the lease makes zero financial sense with BMWs or any manufacturer that supports MSDs.

I concur - use the $5100 to lower the MF - you'll get that money back at the end of the lease.

And, work to get the base MF of .00129.

Multiple security deposits (MSD) are money paid up front to the finance company - each security deposit is in the amount of the monthly payment rounded up to the next $50. Each MSD lowers the MF by .00007 - a maximum of 7 can be applied, lowering your MF by .00049. This lowers your monthly payment.

And, you get the MSD monies back at the end of the lease.

So if I put that $5,100 down over the course of 7 payments, instead of upfront, I could lower the money factor, thus lowering my monthly payment. However, it wouldn't be as much of an upfront savings but better in the end? Am I making sense?? Thanks for the help.

No, MSDs are due at lease inception. Yes, they would lower the MF and your payment.

It's better to do MSD than a straight "down payment".

    Registration : $350
    Money Factor : 0.00129
    Residual : ?
Monthly Payments : $581.14 (Taxes Extra)

Due at Inception : $5,947 (Including Taxes and All Fees)

    Thank you.

    36/15 residual is 58%. Add 2% for 12K and 3% for 10K (or 61%).

MF is .00129, and there is $1500 innovations credit available this month.

We don't recommend you make a down payment on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out the money. Instead consider using MSDs to lower the MF.

    What state is this?

Using your downpayment money for MSDs will actually result in a higher payment than doing a big CAP cost reduction, but since it's a security deposit, and that money comes back at lease end, you will save money overall..

Could I please be able to get October Lease Numbers for a 2014 and 2015 535xi GT for 10K/12K and 15K miles for 36 Months? I had a deal pending in September which has now passed on to October since I did not commit to anything last month.

    Thank you.

    2014 - .00129 and 61% for 36/10. Subtract 1% for 12K and 3% for 15K. $1500 innovation credit.

    2015 - .00129 and 62% for 36/10. Same adjustments for 12K and 15K. $1000 innovation credit.

Thank you so much. The numbers look pretty much the same for October vs September.

This will certainly help me get the deal closed.

I've been talking to a car salesman about leasing a 2014 528i x. Their offer included a MF of .00169. I told them I knew the MF was actually .00129 and they claim it varies from region to region. They asked if I was sure I checked for Metro Chicago. Any truth to this or are they marking up for their profit.

Maximum allowed markup is .0004... You do the math and decide what is truth... ;)

want to ask about this lease deal

    528i 14

    MSRP: 52650
negotiated: 42400 (actually dealer offered this when I test drive)
    down: 0
    tax: 7.5%
    36 month 10K/yr
    rate 3.1%
residual: 32116 (61%, dealer told me)

my calculated payment based on this is $410, however, dealer ask for $449, I will pay the registration/acquisition fees etc at sign. is this still a good deal?

Money factor .00129. That roughly converts to 3.1%, but you need to know the exact money factor in decimal form, or they may be marking it up on you.

If you want to know why the amount is different, ask for the CAP cost and money factor, and find out why they differ from $42,400 and .00129..

Thanks! Basically they later they made a mistake and negotiated price is higher.
Math aside, is this still a good deal to get? Thanks much.
