2014 Platinum Edition Pathfinder $379 per mo. + tax 36 mo. - there 2 at this price at my local nissan dealer. It's a 2WD with trailer hitch. Only question I have is how to interpret the fine print which says:" $4,725 due at signing includes $2,500 customer cash + $2,225 Nissan lease rebate. Residual is $21,000, 12k miles per year."

Does this mean it's zero down? or does it mean I have to put down $4,725 on top of the $4,725 that Nissan is kicking in?

There's also the option of buying at $8,000 off MSRP - but with the tranny issues on this car, I feel better about leasing for 3 years.

I read that as the customer coming up with $2500 (customer cash) due at signing. Nissan is kicking in the other $2225.

We can't help with the payment unless we know the MSRP and the net cap cost of the vehicle.

And, do you mean "$0 down" as in no cap cost reduction, or "$0 out of pocket" meaning nothing due at signing. They are very different - most leases require the first payment, the acquisition fee, the dealer fee (if any) and any state mandated tag or license fees at lease signing.

Quoted with $569.52/month 36 months 36k miles total. $3301.18 Cash Price up front subtract $2425.00 worth of rebates and I am on tap to pay cash up front of $876.18 which includes the first month fee. IS THIS LEGIT??? SHOULD I TAKE THE DEAL? MF 0.00003 and Residual is 48% base + 1% residual BUMP. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

What is the net cap cost as quoted by the dealer? And how much cash are you expected to give them at signing?

I see. I was just wondering if the price for the Platinum we are speaking of can still be lowered? I am looking at the disclosure paper they are giving me and it looks like the cost of the car is $43310 (msrp $46565). PLus the $2500 incentives. So the final price of the car is $41480 without taxes. Should I pull the trigger at the price?

Truecar lists the 2015 Platinum in the SF bay for ~7500 below MSRP (that's 17% off). But not sure if any dealer will match this price.

he's not giving me the cap cost, but is saying the residual is 50%. Is the residual something they can play with like that? He's basically saying I'm at $6246 below MSRP.

No, the residual is fixed by the bank and cannot be modified by the dealer. Without the cap cost, it's very possible for him to hide extra charges and inflate the monthly payment.

Might be time to reach out to a new Nissan dealer.

Current Nissan numbers expire today ... new numbers won't be available to us until later in the week.

.00003 MF for either FWD or AWD.

36/10 on FWD is 52%; for AWD it is 55%.

FWD payment with your numbers, pre-tax, is $286.94; for AWD, $261.00
