Yes, I went to two different dealers and you were right. I was missing a few of their fees. But, this is what I want to know. After getting home and looking on my lease worksheet, they have the base residual for Ally at 58% and they have adjusted residual at 60%. How are they able to adjust the residual to 60%? I thought that this was set up by the bank and could not be changed? This is on a 2015 LTZ 4WD....

It's just semantics... the standard mileage allowance is 15K/yr. The adjusted residual is for the lower mileage allowance.

Hi, can I get money factor and residual values for a 2015 Tahoe LT, 36 months/15k? Anyone out there been shopping for one? Seems like they're not giving too much of a discount or incentives off msrp. I'm based in NYC, anyone know any recent good deals from any dealerships? Help is appreciated. Thanks!

New member here, shopping for 2015 LT 4wd for a lease. I really appreciate this info. I have been following this post for months.

If possible, please post the residual and MF for April for a 36 or 39 month lease at 12k miles per year. Is it reasonable to shoot for the cap cost at invoice and no other dealer fees?

Any things else you recommend I know as I start the process? Thanks.

Hi I'm new here. I've been reading the forum and thinking about leasing a 2015 Tahoe MSRP at $55,540. My question is what's the lowest lease they can offer me With 4k down? They offered me at $611 including taxes. I'm in Las Vegas and Tax here is 8.1%. I'm trying to negotiate down to  around 580. Is that possible? Thanks in advance

What lease term and how many miles per year are you looking for?

We don't recommend making a down payment on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money. And, it doesn't change your total cash outlay for the lease, just the calculus of what's due when.

Don't negotiate the payment, negotiate the lowest selling price.

The 48/12 lease numbers for the Tahoe are .00120 and 46%, unless it's the LS trim, in which case the residual is 48%.

If you can provide a selling price, I can model a payment.

If you plan on keeping the vehicle for a long time, an outright purchase is probably the way to go.

The guy contacted me today and said the car I want is in the msrp is 55540. I asked him for capital cost
  • kingtanakingtana Member Posts: 12
    So they're offering me $569 plus tax (8.1%)comes out to $614. 48/12k . That's with 4k down.they haven't told me the capital cost yet. I don't want it unless it's in the 580
  • kingtanakingtana Member Posts: 12
I put the numbers in and if they knock off 3000 of msrp it would be 586. Are they able to knock off 3000 off MSRP?
  • 12many12many Member Posts: 7
Yes. Will they? Don't know. Other please correct me if I am wrong but chevy provides 3% of MSRP as a holdback that is paid to the dealer. So, even if they sell it to you at invoice, they are still making 3%, but as with any business, they want to maximize profit. I think they should come down 3k under MSRP as these are not that rare anymore, but I never can figure what a dealer will do.

For a GM Financial lease, is the acquisition fee allowed? Is it negotiable or is it fixed and required? This is the fee I don't know much about. I believe document fee is up to the dealer in NV.

Kingtana, someone else who knows more can comment, but the numbers you can work on to get a better price in your estimate are increasing the discount ($3892) from MSRP, or reducing the document prep fee and the acquisition fee. Or your trade, but too many variables to comment.

Acquisition fee is mandated by the bank and cannot be avoided.

Does the Edmunds invoice price include dealer hold back. For example, when dealer invoice price for a Chevrolet at Edmunds says 50,000 on a 54,000 msrp car, and the dealer sells it at 50,000, do they still get the 3% holdback from GM? Thanks.

Thanks Michaell. My deal fell through. Commercial sales guy had confirmed the price with me twice by email, but the morning of the closing, he said he could not close the deal because they would lose money. Others have said this is typical of this dealer, but they had the color/options that I liked so I gave them a try.

Wonderful car. I felt like a king driving it after 9 years in a Pathfinder. But, when the dealer said no deal, I felt like a kid with a new ice cream cone, only to have it taken away just before the first bite. Someday . . . .

The deal was as follows: MSRP - $57,115 using 53% resid, .00098 MF, $4120 total amount down (not including DMV registration) and $608 per month for 39 months.

BigBanjo, I usually lease through my business and leases are better from a tax write off perspective. I like the features of the 2015i models, particularly the fold flat 3rd row. I will look at the 13's Better value to let the depreciation occur with a prior owner.

I am going to talk to another dealer that Kingtana recommended.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

I am surprised by how much the residual changes. The residual was at 60% early in the model year I think. On a 57,000 car, that is about $4000. Divide that by 36 months, that is an extra $110 per month in payment. If someone is buying at lease end, then you get a lower purchase price, but you walk away, the lease is quite a bit more expensive. Seems like in some ways, buying may be better than an end of year lease.

The residual value usually drops during the model year. However, the MF may also decrease as well, somewhat mitigating the hit in depreciation on the monthly payment.

Hello all I am new here and would appreciate any help the board can give me. While in the show room today here in Richmond, VA I requested pricing for a 2015 LTZ, with a sales price of $66K, without running my credit, and received a 39 month lease, 51% residual, MF unknown, 15K miles, for a monthly cost of $1,180.48. Considering I want the vehicle and have seen some great per month leasing numbers around the $550 - $700 mark, I am wondering what my money factor and residuals would be on this vehicle through both GM Financials and Ally. I would like to thank you all in advance for your guidance.

    $62k was offered to me.

With a $66K MSRP and $62K selling price, along with the 51% residual and .00100 MF, I get a pre-tax payment of $822.33/mo for 39 months.

Find out what the net cap cost is; if different from the selling price, get the dealer to explain to you what's been added. Also, the MF is almost certainly marked up on you.

Can you confirm the tax rate in VA?
