Hello all I am new here and would appreciate any help the board can give me. While in the show room today here in Richmond, VA I requested pricing for a 2015 LTZ, with a sales price of $66K, without running my credit, and received a 39 month lease, 51% residual, MF unknown, 15K miles, for a monthly cost of $1,180.48. Considering I want the vehicle and have seen some great per month leasing numbers around the $550 - $700 mark, I am wondering what my money factor and residuals would be on this vehicle through both GM Financials and Ally. I would like to thank you all in advance for your guidance.
.00100 and 51% for 39/15.
What is the MSRP?
Sticker was $66k
Ok so what was the selling price offered to you?
$62k was offered to me.
With a $66K MSRP and $62K selling price, along with the 51% residual and .00100 MF, I get a pre-tax payment of $822.33/mo for 39 months.
Find out what the net cap cost is; if different from the selling price, get the dealer to explain to you what's been added. Also, the MF is almost certainly marked up on you.
Can you confirm the tax rate in VA?
Motor vehicle sales tax in VA is 4.05% last I checked. I would like to thank you in advance for all of your help. What i am seeing though is that I need to try and lease as early in the model year as possible because the residual drops so much, unless my cost of money says otherwise. That said, I am assuming the 2016's will hit in Nov/Dec. time frame. Is this a correct assumption?

Generally speaking, residuals are best at the beginning of the model year. However, the MF is often high as well, so the overall deal isn't that much different.
You are trying to lease a very popular car; it's going to be expensive whenever you decide to make a deal.
Hi, new to forum but I see some great info already! Trying to lease a 2015 Tahoe LTZ in the Northern NJ area. 15K and no $ down with taxes and fees in payment not upfront. Sticker prices are around 65-67K. What's the mf & rf this month? I don't see any manufacturer incentives on them yet. Do you think there will be any incentives anytime soon? Is it worth waiting a few more months on the 2015 models? Thanks in advance!

.00100 MF and 53% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr.
You are right ... no incentives. No crystal ball, here, either.
wowo, found this to answer my own question (54% & 0.00100)... cld.bz/4BJprPu#89/z which is nice to have! See page 90-93 for residuals & page 104 for adjustments. Page 107 for MF's and Cash Rebates (CCR?). They have the #'s for the 2016's there also. For 10k/39m, residual is 59% & MF is 0.00220.
So what fee's SHOULD be included in my Capitalized Cost besides a $595 acquisition fee & Title, Registration & License? That doc on the link above says just $595 acquisition fee, but $0 Early Term Fee, $0 Disposition Fee, $0 Purchase Option Fee. Are document fees legit? What fees might the dealer try to tack on that I should fight?

That's awesome... we didn't get Chevy numbers this month.
Document fees are a fact of life. Some states restrict them by law. In Florida, they seem to go through the roof.. Which state?
Also, better to pay government fees upfront, as those fees are non-taxable. You don't want to put them in the payment and then have to pay tax on them.
Good point on the fees & taxing them. Ok so as far as the fee's due at signing in NJ, this is what I understand to be the only fees I should have to pay (despite being shocked at what I paid for after reading my past lease contracts): NJ Tire Fee $7 Title, License & Reg (4 x $85/yr as per NJ DMV) $340 Acquisition Fee ($595 as per GM) $595 Early Termination Fee ($0 as per GM) $0.00 Disposition Fee ($0 as per GM) $0.00 Purchase Option Fee ($0 as per GM) $0.00 Dealer Document Fee (average doc fee on my last 2 leases) $325 NJ Sales Tax 7% on Depreciation of $23,204 $1,624
Total Fees & Taxes due at signing = $2,981
Can call 'BS' on any fees over and above that? Or do I have anything missing or any of that wrong?
Also I've calculated the payments to be $682 (on $54,870 TMV of Tahoe LT w/ Lux Package)... does that look right?
PS- Think I can instead insist on basing it off of invoice seeing that its a lease and they get holdbacks, etc?

$300-$400 is probably an average cost for doc fee in NJ, but don't be surprised if they ask for more.
I don't know about the selling price, but it really doesn't matter if it's a lease or purchase, the dealer is still looking for the same profit margin.
You can roll the acquisition fee in, as it's taxed, either way. You can also roll in the taxes, as the tax calculation is done pre-tax, and that won't result in double taxation. So that just leaves about $7XX + 1st payment due at signing...
So I emailed a dealer for pricing and they threw in some "Rent Charge" for $3,625 which they added to the Depreciation Charge!?!?! What is that baloney? Is it legit? assuming not.

The "Rent Charge" is the term used to represent the interest charged during a lease. Totally legit.
Do you have any info on 2015 or 2016 Tahoe LT 12k/36 4x4 & Sun, Entertainment & Destination Package in CT? Looking specifically for MF and residual. Thanks!

So, the reason this lease is much higher than my Lexus GS350, is because the residual isn't nearly as strong. Any idea if you can use MSD's with Chevy? Leasing a 2016 LT 4wd looks expensive. I wonder if people are getting them down to $50k with the current programs out there..?

$62k was offered to me.
With a $66K MSRP and $62K selling price, along with the 51% residual and .00100 MF, I get a pre-tax payment of $822.33/mo for 39 months.
Find out what the net cap cost is; if different from the selling price, get the dealer to explain to you what's been added. Also, the MF is almost certainly marked up on you.

New to the forum and must say the advise given on here is very informative. Thank you all for that.
Looking to lease a 2015 Chevy Tahoe LTZ
MSRP is 67 K. The truck is a demo with 5k miles.
I'm looking for a 39-42 mo lease with 12/15k miles.
What money factor and residual % do I use?
Also, any thoughts about the amount of discount I should be looking for due to the fact the truck is a Demo?
You should be able to get .20-.25 per mile additional discount ($1000-1250) for the miles.

Just got the following quote on a 2015 Tahoe LS and I wanted to run the #'s by to see if this is a good deal:
MSRP $50,930
36 month lease
0 down
$944 due at signing (first month, doc fee, taxes, transfer plate)
12k miles/yr
$493.63 per month (includes taxes)
I qualify for GM discount as well as lease conquest.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
But, a $490 lease payment on a $51K vehicle can't be a bad deal.
