I just took a quick look. Infiniti Q50 RWD Red 400 Sport is $52k with no extras added on. Vs $46k for the Stinger GT1. If you want all the driver assistance garbage, you have to step up to the $52k Stinger GT2, but also add those options to the Q50 for a total of $58k. So $6k difference either way. That is fairly substantial.
$6K is a lot, but is it? About 70 extra horses in the Infiniti 400 right? That's got to be worth something, not to mention a luxury dealership with free loaners when you need them.
Do we know what the weight of the Stinger is? I know the Infinity is about 2 tons.

So in other words, the cop was offended and wanted revenge. Very professional. And I suspect if the LEO was called out on it, there'd be a trumped up "contempt of court" threat. Gotta keep the money coming in, the insane bennies won't fund themselves. Corrupt, it's about cash flow. Enforcement and punishment must be consistent - but we all know it is far from it.
Generally it was because the guy/girl was a jackass. Crooked? How so? If any officer wanted to give their input to every plea bargain he/she certainly could- but most didn't have the time, and neither did the prosecutors, clerks, bailiffs, or judges. In my 22 years in traffic court 99% of the defendants who had the box checked conducted themselves in court in a way that validated the officer's judgment.
Cash flow has nothing to do with it- in KY, the Circuit Court Clerk gets a very small percentage of the fees and everything else goes to the state. I'd be willing to bet that the ATTN box system resulted in a LOT fewer convictions than it would have without the system.
That's the old, robbing Peter to Pay Paul Defense on revenue. The "As long as we don't DIRECTLY benefit, we are not benefiting defense." I don't buy it.
Police say that stuff all the time. Yet they seem to be given very generous and rich budgets. The government is good at laundering their own dirty money

I like the Stinger and give props to Kia for producing it and targeting the 4-series GC. We had a good ownership experience with our Kia van, so would consider the brand again.
Having said that, I wouldn't buy one new without serious discounts, and probably not even then. For anyone open to buying used/CPO, the 4-series and A5, as well as the domestic competitors, have been out long enough that there are plenty of used examples available at prices very competitive (and lower) with a new Stinger.
I could see a 1-2 year old example being a great buy on the used market though.
I must have missed the V60 Polestar story in the 2,000 posts I skipped to catch up; can you summarize the story or link me to the page where you posted about it? Did you get rid of something to get it?

Nope. Only 35 hp difference. Stinger makes up some ground with 26 more torques. Looks like it might come in 150-200 lbs lighter. I predict a darned near virtual performance tie.

Stinger is 190” long, so def bigger than a 3 series. I forget, is the Kia a sedan or hatch? At that size and RWD configuration, seems to live in its own little niche. I guess the aforementioned Infiniti is about the closest comparable.
How else are you going to get to 42K posts or 19K on only one board -- no names mentioned? Marco posts several a day sometimes and will be a contender before long, though he has slacked off a bit lately.
Today is the six month anniversary of the wife's Civic. You want low mileage? Here is low mileage. It would be even lower if I had not used it as our primary car for six weeks. She takes a lot of really short trips, so I've got to get it out and get it up to temp occasionally. I suspect this will be her very last car.
So I write to Kohler: We are looking to replace a toilet in our bathroom. The sink and bathtub are a rose/tan color, possibly called bone, almond, beige or biscuit. Could you mail us color samples so we will know what color to order so it will match. Thanks
This is the reply I got: Thank you for contacting Kohler Co.
We are sorry you are having difficulty matching the colors of your Kohler products. We do offer color samples, however they are not sent out free of charge. To order samples, please call us at 1-800-456-4537 and request our Literature department.

When is customer care kind of like....customer is a hassle - to be made money off of any way possible?
You are tossing out a customer who could be making a $200 to $300 purchase, companies pay a lot of advertising bucks to attract a potential customer.
Not sure if I want to deal with this particular company judging by this answer.

2000 miles a year...it would cost less to use taxis.
I have no doubt there quotas or similar encouragement, but "just following orders" will be the rebuttal there. For the rest of that, I think trust should be given by the person rather than by birth or badge.
I'm convinced I only get pulled over by the bad ones, or else I wouldn't be pulled over, right?
Actually, there are other reasons. It could be the Officer is behind on his quota, had a slow month and is making up for it, or that they are just an over-eager young rookie cop out to save the world.
I'm not sure which professions I trust the most, but it certainly isn't the Police. I would say family first, and then friends. 1st hand recommendations from those people of other people. Firefighters seem to be cool. I like my Doctor, but I feel like a number at my Dentist.
Indeed, being jerky, especially to someone who might come at you with a huge attitude and a lecture of questionable cred, isn't illegal, and shouldn't result in harsher punishment.
When everyone knows certain people have a de facto get out of jail free card, it's hard to take some things seriously. I can see how LEOs would get jaded about the population in general - and vice versa. However, the negative aspects are figured into the compensation, right?
I agree with you! The pleasantness of your demeanor and comments towards the officer have no bearing on the crime that has been alleged to have been committed. Unless someone has a study where rude or foul-mouthed people are shown to be more dangerous drivers than polite and clean spoken people.
If all I have to do is say how handsome or pretty an Officer is the day they pull me over, sign me up!
Can I rob banks as long as I give the Police Dept. a 10% cut of the proceeds?
Is it against the law to have a negative attitude towards Police Officer's?
I see A7 price/looks for A4 price. However, it might not be A7 content, and competing on size or looks can be a tough job - ask the K900 or Equus which are supposedly an S-class for E-class money, but not really.
I am wondering if Kia will test that $52000 to see what the demand would be at that price. My guess, it will drop off pretty quickly if sales are slow, which they probably will be since it is an unknown competing against some of the most established cars in that category.
Well, the court clerk doesn't fund the departments and bennies, right? Yeah, not money, it's safety, or even more laughable "law and order" - unless you hold a FOP or similar card, or just have certain looks. And I am sure if someone speaks up about it, the threats begin.
I am not sure if I can believe there would be more penalties if cops weren't encouraging judges to look at some offenders in a different light from others.

Whatever happened to fezo. He's here and reasonably well. Just busier amongst of projects, like getting the house as I'd like it. I'd hate to move in a couple of years and have to fix it up just so and say "this'd be great if it weren't for winter." A lot of paper tossing and finally trying to do the writing for what will be my next CD (finally!). Aiming for an August release date. Have to get more copies of the first. After all these years they're almost gone. Close to 1,000 people were foolish enough to buy it (that includes the cassette version).

I tried indie plumbing stores and they don't exist around here. If you order from Kohler direct - even if I knew what color - they charge about double the Home Depot/Lowes price. I also sent an email to American Standard at the same time...I'll see what they say, but the form I used looked suspiciously similar....like maybe they are owned by the same company.

Truth, andres3. Because my commute is 68 miles each way, and I'm good with it. Of course, coming home in the morning when I'm dog tired can be really tough.
I thought I was bad, taking a full month to get to 300 miles.
I think I mentioned this before. When I took the Genny in for a PA state inspection this past spring, I knew I would be emission exempt (5K miles or less) and I told the guy at the desk about that. After the inspection was complete he said I had only put on 684 miles (I think). In any case well under even 1K miles.
My big mistake was that I told Mrs. j about this and she said something like, "I don't want to hear anything about you getting a new car. You don't even drive the one you have". :@
I just took Mrs. j's 2012 Subie in for an inspection on Monday. She put less that 3400 miles on her car in the last year (odometer shows just over 30K). Not going to get anywhere with her about replacing that beast anytime soon either.
The way things are going @iluvmysephia1 will get at least 2 more cars before we get another one. I'm going to ask him how I should go about putting my foot down.

I've found Kohler to be a very helpful company when I've had faucet valves or toilet parts go bad. I called and they sent replacements gratis. Same for Delta. I buy either brand based on what the boss says I want to buy when she does with me to look.
jmonroe, yeah, my situation is every bit as dire as yours. To Mrs. iluvmysephia1, me getting my new car is dumb on each and every level you can think of. I'm noticing that the 2011 Kia Soul's ghastly mileage is starting to suck.
I've got two more days off. I know I said I'd wait until after my 90-day probation is up, but even my boss in Wenatchee said as I was leaving yesterday, "your wife's still not on board yet?" Yes, he was talking about the new car purchase I am still planning on implementing.
Only he still thinks I want a Subaru. Hang in there, jmonroe. I like you even though you're a Steelers fan.
