Renewed XMSirius today. Their script has totally changed. I was able to renew my $25 / 5 month plan with the Travel info added. AND it was a pleasant interaction.

I wish our local cable company Spectrum,. a part of Charter, were so easy. I'm considering going with DISH.

I just received an email survey from XMSirius. The questions included ones about the number of people with whom I've shared my opinion of my experience. Maybe XMS has finally realized the highly scripted upsell rather than renewing lower rate packages has had a negative impact on public opinion.

Yes a venerable British brand going back to the very early days of the automobile. Humber was absorbed in the Rootes Group in the 1930s, as their upper range, above the Hillman. Humber made a lot of the staff cars you see in British films about WW II. Gen. Montgomery drove about in one. They made military vehicles for the British and German armies after WW II. Chrysler bought them in 1964.

That Mercedes wagon looks like an old Taurus from the back.

Was at the grocery store today. Got in the line that accepts up to 15 items.
Guy behind me put his stuff on the belt, salsa, chips, pickles crackers, and a few other similar items.
Then he took a few steps away and added a 50 TV!
I got a chuckle out of that.

I told my wife I was gonna buy a new TV for the Super bowl... then I got superstitious and thought I watched the Phillies win their championship on that TV and now I’m going to watch the Eagles win theirs!!!

Yes it was a good game - it was fairly well matched which always makes for a great SB. New England is in a fairly weak division - Buffalo being their only real competition this year. I would not be surprised if the Pats experience major player changes in the off season.

Often overlooked in this Pats run. The AFC east has been a tire fire for so long, they practically start the season with a playoff Bye. At worst a first round home game.

Michael, you have the Jets, the Bills, the Dolphins and the Patriots in that division. The Dolphins have no real quarterback - Tannehill is damaged goods now, unfortunately. The only chance Miami has of challenging the Patriots is if, by divine intervention, a quarterback and a decent offensive line should arise from the ashes, much like the phoenix did in myth. The Jets are in a situation whereby a defensive line would help them out, but only time will tell. The Bills have a good team - they need some outstanding coaching and play development.

Even if Brady retires, which at this moment seems unlikely, the depth of the Patriots is awesome - so they will probably win their division again next year - but how far they get will depend upon who is the quarterback. If it is Brady, they have a good chance again next year.

I have good reports from friends on the ground that it really wasn't THAT bad. I mean when I lived in Pittsburgh I was there for a Stanley cup win and a super bowl win, and I have never seen more cars flipped over and more sofas burned in my life.

The same can be said about the Steelers being in the AFC North but they haven't been able to take advantage of their situation.

You should have heard all the crying going on this past week on the Burgh sports talk shows. OMG if the Patriots win they will have 6 Super Bowl trophies just like our Steelers. The NFL gods can't allow that to happen, oh my oh my. I predict, for whatever that's worth, the Pats will get another trophy before the Steelers do unless and that is a big UNLESS the Steelers change their ways.

The head coach has created a typical head coachism, "we can't live in our fears". Well, maybe he should because if he isn't afraid of losing playoff games like they have the past 2 years, maybe he should. Just love all this coach speak and the talking heads and fans repeat it.

Hey, Mike,
Netflix is great for original content series (House of Cards, Narcos, etc.) and for viewing great tv series from other sources (e.g., Breaking Bad and Mad Men from AMC). Good for documentaries. Bad for motion pictures: they have low level films that you never heard of (and not great "sleepers") or lower tier films. We have had it for several years and alway spend 10 minutes looking for a decent movie. But we still keep it for what I mentioned above. Regards, David

Actually the IDEA of alternative currencies is appealing, and in the USA, in the past, many states in fact had their own currency, which you would exchange as you went from state to state.

I was telling my friends who were watching the game last night.....Brady is the best QB I've ever seen play the game in my lifetime. And, BB is the best NFL coach I've seen run an NFL team.

Happy for the Eagles and their fans.

I had no dog in the hunt and really didn't care one way or the other who won. But, there are players I consider to be "good people" in addition to great football players. Nick Foles is one of them. Genuinely nice person and given how he's been discarded more than once in the league, it's good to see him win.

OK guys, I need some advice from my poster buddies.

I just got my threat from SiriusXM in the mail today for Mrs. j's Subie. To keep my subscription they want $238.55, all in (Base Price $191.88 plus $36.67 Royalty Fee). They said I'm not to worry, they will send me a bill before the expiration date which is 3-13-18. Well, that price sure as hell ain't going to happen.

The all in price last year was $103.63 but I think that is even high given what I have heard about their pricing today. So, my question is, what is the price you guys have bit on?

It sounds like I should wait for the price to drop to $500. That way, if it continues to drop, I won't feel as bad as the dopes that bought at $17,000.

I have tried my damnedest to understand bitcoin, but to no avail. I simply can't wrap my head around a totally made up non-tangible fantasy is worth actual money. I might as well pick up a rock off the ground and declare it worth $1000.

Looks like most folks are able to renew for 5 months for $25 ... I'd hold out for that.

A few things you can try;

Tell them you want the same rate as you had, or forget it.

Check online and see what their special deal is. Don't renew and start over.

Just be sure to mark on your calendar the day you want to cancel, mark the date, time of your call and get the person's name you spoke to.

I renewed my 5-month trial on select plan for $26 approx Plus $5 for Travel link ( incudes the gas station prices). Plus about $350 for royalty for musicians and $2.50 for taxes. So I'm out about $7 per month. But I have to remember to cancel in 5 months.

The travel link with the gas prices is fun while driving to watch the prices go up and down and I pick a Shell station where I will pick a low price for my bathroom break midway to Pigeon Forge.

The renewal price is about $15.75 per month and about $2 for travel link: that ain't gonna happen. I'll put music on my android or a usb drive.

To repeat myself from earlier post, they were very compliant about renewing at the trial rate. There was no upsell attempt. I just said I don't use the car much but I do really enjoy having it for the price I'm paying.

I found it hard to find out any promotional rates they have online. I never get an email about renewal and offers. If they offered a yearly rate close to what I am paying, I would take it just for the inconvenience of renewing at 5 months. But I'm retired more or less, so I can do it.

I think it's a bit more complicated than that. Blockchain technology is real with potentially far reaching consequences into our lives, just as were railroads, radio, television, or internet. However, companies built around it are mostly a joke, fraud, or unsustainable, just as those build around the mentioned technologies when public became aware of them.
