I was talking to my friend who has a 2017 Audi S8, and I said there are some cars that don't have many dealers....I would probably not buy one of those because if it broke down it would be hard to find a dealer.

He drives to Arizona for the winter....about 2400 miles and he said there are hardly any Audi dealers on the way there. He said he might consider a Lincoln or Cadillac SUV next time, there are a lot more dealers.

I don't think he would switch, but the same thoughts have gone through my mind.

That's what I've used for years. Unlike No Salt, which tastes like dried-up battery acid, the Half-Salt variety sort of tastes like salt.

I never put salt on anything. And barely add when cooking. Though I’m sure packaged stuff (like boxed rice pilaf you still have to make) is loaded with it.

Lots of folks are leasing cars, specifically to use for Turo. I think there is a couple here in Colorado who have 7 or 8 Wranglers available. If you can rent them for $100/day, would not need that many days to cover the lease and insurance costs for a month.

But, getting the vehicles to begin with is the challenge, at the moment.

So $400/month lease, $100/month insurance and upkeep is $500/month per car. Is they really get $100/day, 10 days rented is 100% ROI. Is that reasonable? Too high?

Also seems it moved (at least for them!) from the original concept (make spare cash from your car when you aren’t using it) to being basically a small rental car company.

Wrangler? $500/mo. lease. I think Turo provides the insurance for the renter, but you'll need your own insurance. Once State Farm finds out you are renting out your car, that's probably closer to $300/mo, if they'll insure you.

Also, I'd imagine that Turo takes a pretty good chunk of the $100/day. I bet it's 12 days/mo or more to break even.

Sounds yummy, but how is the salt content? And by adding condiments make a palatable sandwich even worse. When I was younger I didn't mind the high salt content but today I just can't ingest this stuff. Perhaps they should offer two versions: normal and low salt---and hold the sauces ketchup.

Almost all processed food has tons of salt....it adds flavor, it is cheap, and people like the taste.

Nope, if I am making fries 🍟 in my air frier I will lightly coat them with salt prior to frying them but not after.

What a deal. They find someone to beat the hell out of your car and they get a big cut for doing it. Nice work if you can get it.

Rental companies get big discounts on new cars...but with the shortage of cars car makers want to sell their cars to regular buyers.
People are keeping rental cars longer and they are staying somewhere else.
The one not mentioned which is my own guess - car rental companies off loaded cars during early covid when renters were scarce.....to reduce debt.
Advice.....rent very early like kyfdx, one week ahead isn't enough.

I don’t know how many Hertz had before but Enterprise bought 200,000 of their lower milage cars. Most of them including much of Enterprise’s own inventory were sold off during 2020 because values were so high. I think they oversold because they assumed that they could purchase new cars to replace them. How did that work out.

So now we have the perfect storm. Demand skyrocketing, no inventory and no way to get more. I just tried to get my BIL my employee discount and a Mitsu Mirage booked for $350/week. I’m going to give him the pick of my fleet instead.

That crossed my mind. Unless something happens like a ruined tire we should be good for a couple of years.

One of the reasons given for a "possible" tire shortage in the near term was the blockage of the Suez Canal. All in all, I don't think it's really going to happen. Sometimes I think we need to quit looking for things to worry about.

Sidewalk looks good....what is happening to your grass?
The grass in our yard has mostly turned to mud with a few weeds....the guy is going to add soil and grass seed like oldfarmer suggested....grass that will grow in the shade. Apparently the trees grew and now make too much shade....I can't win!

It's perfectly fine to end a sentence with a preposition. It's not, nor was it ever, a violation of English Grammer. It is a violation of Latin Grammer but not English. Anyone pressing that Latin rule on English is just a snob.
