I took mine off this weekend to Zaino my wife's car and there was so much sand trapped underneath the mask it was unbeleivable.I also think the sand left several scratch marks in the paint.
Thank God for Zaino-it took care of those fine scrathes, what a mistake on my end to installed this paint damaging accessory.
My only other choice now is to get the 3M invisible bra.
Does anynoe in the the Connecticut area (Fairfield County) know of an installer (3m that is).

Here is the 3M website where you can get a list of their authorized Installers:

You have a second, and more viable choice. Why not use the paint that Honda applied at the factory? That's what perhaps 99.5% of owners use.
The well-recognized damaging effects of "nose masks" or "bras" are what most users fail to research prior to purchase. You will find that "invisible bras" have their shortcomings too, such as two-tone paint after a couple of years.
I just bought an 04 EX V6 Coupe (black leather interior, silver exterior) with the metal trim kit and steering wheel. Absolutely love them... the color of the trim contrasts nicely with the black interior, really decks it out nicely. Goes well with the silver exterior too. I can try to post some pictures if anyone out there is interested in seeing it for themselves; I know it was hard as hell to find any pictures of trim kits with black interior.
Are you suggesting that I use Honda's paint as a protection from rocks and debris or use the paint as a touch job for the chips?
I am desperate right now for some sort of front end protection-I did even know that the invisible bra in the long run would cause a two tone effect.
My wife wants to keep this car for at least 10 years,so I am trying my best to keep it in tip top shape.
"For 2004, Accord models with leather also have XM Satellite Radio. Dealers can add an MP3/Windows Media Player, a DVD rear-seat entertainment system, and a hands-free cell phone."
Does anyone know if the availability of a hands-free cell phone system for the accord is true? I assume this would be something like the 2004 tl's bluetooth system... This would be a very attractive option for me, but I have not been able to confirm it with honda's website or any other sources...
Not sure if the Honda's hands free system is still available. I herd rumors that it was discontinued.
I was wondering how easy it was to install the front and rear sway bars from the 04 TL also is the Accord Strut Bar bolt on also?
Here is the list of parts I have found from looking at the Acura Dealership's website for the Rear Sway Bar
52300-S3M-A01 (Rear Sway bar 19MM SOLID) $33.20 (you need ONE)
52306-S0E-015 (19mm bushing) $4.45 each (you need TWO)
52308-S3M-A00 (19mm bracket) $3.55 each (you need TWO)
I had read that a bunch of people had done that with the <03 Acura TL Type S and their 6th Generation Accords.
Also could you list what parts you bought if they differ from above and did you have to use a lift to access the sway bar? I might not have access to a lift, would it be possible to still change out the sway bars?
Thanks In Advance!
I apologize for the amount of questions, but I have not seen anyone else that has done what you did.
I was trying to convey the idea that you should just relax so that both you and your wife can enjoy your new car the way it was designed and built. In ten years your windshield will probably have a few rock and debris nicks. That doesn't mean that you should add a protective layer there too.
I am very picky when it comes to my cars- yeah, I am the fellow who parks a million miles away in Malls, Home Depot, Strip Malls you name it.
I just like my cars shiny and dent free.
Are you related to PLANE @ a major hedge fund in California?
I have eight, count them eight, chips in my paint already. The largest is 1/4", most are small. I used Honda's touch up paint, but eight in five months is excessive.
My old car, on the same commute for five years, had three or four chips. Eight in five months is not making me too happy. I was thinking about a bra, but I'll have to do research on their issues.
And just today at lunch I saw my first door ding. Grrr.. I knew it would happen eventually, but it still sucks.
I see a couple of chips in my wife's car and you can definitly tell that the paint is weak.
Red is great....hardly shows, silver it's totally invisible, white....only slightly noticable in early morning or late afternoon sun.
The only thing the current owner of the GTP has done is replace the hood piece last year due to an edge that came up after his 6 year old picked at it and pulled it up. It wouldn't go back down after so many years.

Fifthwheel... both the trim kit and the steering wheel were installed at the dealership at time of purchase. I believe Handa Accessories has installation instructions for both on their website though; perhaps that will be of some use to you if you decide to install it yourself.
Don't know what professional installation costs, but it'll take the weekend tinkerer like me from 6 to 8 hours. Put in what you think your time is worth and compare with an installer's fee.
Key features: 1) true foglighting - wide peripheral coverage with good forward throw; reflectors and Osram bulbs are of high quality, and 2) auto-off on high beam.
Quite a good value...
I installed OEM foglights on my Accord shortly after purchase a year ago. Very nice for fog and snow, especially at dusk.
So far, rocks have broken the lenses of 3 foglight lamps. So, before installing new foglight lamps, I bought and installed 40 mil 3M headlight projection film. Purchased from www.rockblocker.com. This 3M stuff is supposed to protect lamps from rocks at up to 140 mph.
The foglight lamps have the black plastic ring that snaps off. After snapping off the plastic ring, I cut the film to fit the lamp and applied the film to the lamp. Then snapped the ring back on. Can't tell the film is on the lamp. Hopefully, my foglight lamps will last lots longer!
BTW, prices at rockblocker.com are very reasonable. Thanks again, John.
The mirror behaves wonderfully and is MUCH nicer than the stock mirror that the car comes with.
The standard mats are rather thin in the Accord. Once they are almost worn out we will replace them with the premium mats.
You were right about the mats. $34 is almost free. Also noticed that they have the front underbody spoiler for $185. I paid $230 when I ordered mine around Christmas last year.
I heard a while back that there is a device that you can connect to the accord 04 navi system to play DVDs and watch TV. Where do I find info on this and how hard is it?
Has anyone done this?
My main concern is getting the airbag cover off and removing/reinstalling the airbag. (It is an explosive device, ya know)
james
Thank You.
I like the look of the stock lights except for the pinkish tint, I would be interested if anyone has found out a way to make it clear, or knows of a guide on the web that explains the process.
No offense to anyone who has them..but...I definately do want a set of those cheesy altezza aftermarket lenses
If anyone has pics of 03-04 Coupe taillights and have eliminated the pink and replaced it with clear please post pics.
Is this something that I should talk to my Honda dealer about covering under warranty? I did have them install them when before I picked up the car.
I'm going to try the 3M film also.
Can't hurt to try the dealer to see if they will replace the foglight lamps. I'd be suprised if the dealer replaces the lamps. However, very much worth a try.
My take is the foglight lamp glass breaks pretty easily because it is quite thin (and it is glass).
Good luck with the 3M film.
Well-conceived product, too, with the vendor/maker anticipating issues like high-speed peeling (a strip-lock clamps the bra to the hood edge).
It won't scratch the paint unlike the common leatherette bra; install and un-install are very easy.
Next to the clear 3M film, this is probably the best hood finish protector. On a black car, you'd probably not mind having it on most of the time.
Only downside is theft; while fussy to steal, it can still be ripped off in a minute or two by the determined petty thief.
