Any response is appreciated.
Navigation system is unable to acquire a proper GPS signal.
The Solution reads:
Make sure there is nothing on the rear shelf blocking the GPS antenna....Rear window tinting and after-market devices can affect the GPS reception.
Does anyone have some advise (or a good website) as to whether I should install oversize injectors and/or remap the computer? Any info is appreciated.
I had a heck of a time trying to hook this thing up. It's because the directions weren't too clear. I did not want to hook up the yellow brake light wire to the brake light because I wanted my wife to watch DVDs while I drive (for those of you worried that I might watch movies while I drive, I have installed a plastic device that keeps me from watching the movies while I drive). Since I have one of the newer units from www.avelectronic.com, I could not, I repeat, could NOT hook up the red wire (power wire) to the yellow wire. If I did that I would have fried the unit. I paid a kid at Best Buy to hook up the unit (under the table, they won't hook it up incorrectly at Best Buy) while he was off from work. He hooked up the yellow wire to the brake light, but I just took that yellow wire and attached to the brack (ground) wire. I tested the unit and it worked! Now my wife can watch DVDs while we drive. It's great!
I was going to get the Day/Night mirror from my dealership when I bought the car, but the sales manager actually advised me against it - he said he'd seen lots of problems with the 2004 mirror.
As for warranty, if you buy them with the car they are covered under the car's warranty. If you buy them separately, they are covered under their own warranty, whatever that may be.
I am in the process of doing the same.
I have an 04 EX accord with 6cd player.
I want to put my Blaupunkt mp3/cd player in addition to my 6cd honda player.
I got the same kit as you.
I was thinking of hooking up my mp3 player as the Aux to the honda player.
But the wiring harness that comes with the kit is NOT for the Aux.
So my question is that does your factory cd player work or you gave it up ??
thanx

I am planning on doing the same but want to retain my 6 cd player..
did you have any success??

K&N does make the cold air intake system for the 2004 Accord. I've thought about it myself but, for around $175 to $200 it is kind of expensive for me right now.
Did you notice any improvement with the addition of just the K&N filter replacement you've already installed?

Furthermore, does anyone know if modifying the audio system by adding an amp and replacing speakers voids the warranty in any way? I actually bought the extended Honda Care warranty. Anyone know if the Honda Care warranty is voided in this case?
The only way you'll void the warranty is if the changes you make cause the issue with the system. So if your screen dies or something...no, it shouldn't be affected.
any cold air kit is just the begining of mods. the gains will be cumlative over time as you add more. of course you'll here gains in hp and mpg's, but that's all very minimal at first. most hp you'll pick up is 5-10hp in reality. mainly at the top end of the rpms where you can actually feel the motor pulling stronger and breathing better.
again, nothing huge, but certainly a start and well worth doing so long as you don't mind the roar you'll hear when you floor it
Do you by chance drive an 03-04 Accord with the V6? And have you installed the cold air kit?
I'd like to know just how loud it can get when you punch it? What it sounds like during normal driving? And, anything you'd like to relay about installation of the intake.
Thanks!
If you've not had a CAI before, then the best I can say is that at normal to moderate performance it's normal. You won't know it's there. Open it up and you'll here a very pleasant roar from it as it pulls air in through the fender.
Not difficult to install so long as you're comfortable removing the battery and all the stock intake items. Takes about 30-40 minutes total.
You can clean the filter once per year through the wheel well if you're understanding of how to remove the shrowd that lines it. However, you can just remove the battery and what not and pull it out from there too.

I took a look back at the pictures of your car. Didn't figure out who you were until you responded to me. I thought your car was very tastefully done. Good clean look, no one would know of the modifications you've done from looking at the outside. I like the "sleeper" approach rather than alot of the over the top mods I see all the time here in Houston.
I'll see about posting a couple of pictures of mine here soon.
How do you post a picture on this site?
Could someone tell me time frames of how many hours does the window tinting take and please give me your experience w/ the shop name in Sacramento/Elk Grove area?
Thank you so much for your input.
I have a 2004 Accord Coupe silver/black and had my windows tinted yesterday. I always use a metallic type of tint. These tints reject 98% of UV rays and about 50-60% of light energy. I believe the metallics are better quality, tend to last longer, and their reflective properties are better. Some are more "metallic" looking, which I do not like but that is taste. A good tinter will educate you on all this. My cost was $160 for the 2 doors and rear, and it took about an hour.
Couple more questions for you on the CAI if you don't mind? Have you ever needed to change your CAI to the shortram setup? I only ask because K&N makes reference to the change if needed for inclement weather. The concern being ingestion of water through the intake and into the engine.
I live in Houston, so it rains here quite a bit. Is this something you've dealt with and is it something I should be concerned about? I don't plan on driving through deep water but, running through puddles and such, I won't be able to avoid.
Many of the CAI have a bypass valve and or the ability to convert to a SRI. I would go with a bypass valve for about $40 if you're concerned. I like the AEM intake.
Any particular reason you liked the AEM filter over others?
And (hopefully this works) here are a couple of pictures of my 2004 Accord LX-V6.
Thanks as always.

Actually, try these two links. This will give you a better look at the tint.

Overall, there's not much difference between the brands AEM and Injen outside price and personal preference. I sold my Injen as I just didn't care for the polished look. I like the powder coated finish better.
