We all know this is an utter lie. Honda dealers are simply saying this to save face for a car fallen on hard times (relatively speaking), and HMC is trying to save face by hiding the cash rebate from public. The chest thumping will go on, albeit deceptively.
What I am curious about is:
1. What will happen to the inventory these dealers have, in excess of 150 Accords each?
2. Where will they park the 2008 models when they start rolling in? Honda is holding 2008s back probably.
3. What will be the affect on 2008 model sales, and on sales of 2007 model, with a wide price difference between the two?
I won't be surprised to read a news story where some unsuspecting customer will be handed a 2007 model thinking he is buying the latest.
Honda Accord EX Coupe V4 leather seats: 20,000 (Including Destination Charge)
Honda Accord EX Sedan V4 leather seats: $18, 800
Now can someone please offer me some advice? I do not want a dealer to tell me "if they are willing to sell it for that...then buy it from them"
Can someone please email me ddmew's deal on EX PLEASE and some advice about how to get the car for that price... intwalamd@yahoo.com
Very low prices on 2007s could spur those sales, but that will negatively affect 2008s. If there are tens-of-thousands 2007s not sold, and people buy them in front of 2008, that does reduce demand for 2008s.
On the other hand, 2007 Accord is way behind features offered by Camry and Altima and that is probably the problem. If 2008 Accord has very modern features, you will see only customers like myself buying 2007s ("a car is just a means to go from one point to another"), but a large number will simply opt for 2008s.
Who is to know how the masses behave.

Actually, that is true. Honda does not give cash rebates. They do give dealer incentives, however. Those can be passed on to the consumer or not.
I am interested in knowing what features you are talking about. This probably is not the right forum for such a question but if you can answer it briefly that would suffice. I am not doubting what you are saying, but merely wanting to be educated. I have not kept up with the features in the latest Camry and Altima. Thanks.
You make a valid point here though you got the wrong year. Since the 2008 model is a redesign, it would probably look different from the 2007 one.
However, the possibility of a customer being cheated with a 2006 model is higher considering some dealers still have unsold ones.
How does one make out if they are getting an '06 or an '07?
Another thing is that Honda does not seem to put trim letters on the trunk lid. So there is no way to tell at a glance which trim you are getting. One is constrained to check features to determine what they are getting.
Also saw the same thing on the new Camrys. I guess they are doing away with the old-style rubber lining.
You may want to compare your car with other new ones before going to the dealer.

If you go to a dealer and tell them you are looking for a V4 powered Accord, you are going to pay through the nose. This simply tells the dealer that you don't know much about cars. There are no V4 powered cars on the US market at this time.
Ex indeed does not come with leather, EX-L does. Go to http://www.hondacars.com and compare trims and features, so that you know exactly what trim comes with what. This way you can show the dealer that you know the vehicles, and you know what you are talking about.
Good luck.
Bluetooth, power lumbar support, auto-dimming mirror w/compass, rear view camera, and least important, keyless start.
I have no idea what features a Camry has, since they don't offer a manual with the V-6.
That all being said, those are not terribly important and I may way buy a 07 EX-L if I can get the right price (invoice on the Above altimas are 29K +).
If anyone finds a deal that is close or even better, please drop me a line at zswx2@yahoo.com. I would really appreciate it!
Anyways I think I've narrowed the choices down to buying a 2007 Accord Coupe EX-L or leasing a 2007 Acura TL, but I'm too indecisive.
I'm just wondering how much it would probably cost me to buy the EX-L including all taxes and fees? And let's just say I did 36K miles in 3 years, how much could I get for this car? I'm not too thrilled with the accord and even less thrilled considering the 2008's are coming out soon and I don't like the new body style at all.
Second question regarding the TL, how much could I get the total lease cost too? I went to one acura dealership and he got me down to a bit over $17k which includes all taxes and fees. Could I get it any lower? I love the TL but am pretty cheap and kind of made the reasoning in my head that if I buy a car for $25k total cost, have it for 3 years then sell it for $10K It would come out the same to justify leasing it, but obviously I'd probably get more for the car if I sold it (don't know how much more) and probably can't lease a TL for that little (or can I?) So just wondering what the price difference would be between leasing a TL and buying an Accord assuming I do 36k miles on the accord and sell it in 3 years?
Last thing, are they picky with the damage to the car after 3 years? I mean the dealer told me they waive the first $1.5k in damage, but would they charge you for every little scuff mark on a rim, little rock indent from driving on higway, etc?
Thanks
For the 3 leading cars Toyota, Nissan, and Honda, I say the depreciation for a 3 years old car is ABOUT 30% from invoice or 40% from MSRP. However, if you buy a '07 now, the car is already 1 year old. So, it's not a good idea to buy an old model year unless you keep the car longer than 5 years OR you get a big chunk of discount like the Accord now.
Many people who don't like to buy a new, they like to talk about the depreciation from the MSRP to make it like they save a lot of $$. :shades:
If you're indecisive about the coupe v/s the sedan, I'd say go for the coupe. It looks a tad better with those wrap around tail-lights and the GT style silhouette. And Honda hasn't messed around with the interior trim colors as it did with the sedan (try getting a black fabric interior on the 4 dr).
Also the MSRP for the Coupe EXL is 25K, how did you get under 20k?
When I bought an SE 4 cyl, they said "IF you find a dealer who can sell for that price, we'll buy all their stock'. A half-hour later, they were meeting my price. Go figure. Thank god we only have to buy a new honda every 10 yrs, dealing with car salesmen is the WORST.
The other point is Carmax proposal is good for seven days.
If you like Carmax price see if the dealer will match their written estimate.
I tried emailing you with the contact info but got a message back saying that you aren't set up to accept messages from non-carspace members. Do you have another email address?
This is a great car and I wonder why anyone would wait to pay over MSRP for the 08's.
After looking for weeks through this forum I am getting ready to buy one this weekend.DDMEW's posting for EX did not bring me any luck despite several attempts. It did bring me nasty emails from dealers though.
My hats still off to him for the awesome deal.
I have a quote for $16695 + 595(destination)+399(documentation)+TTL. I think its going to come out to $17900approx.
If anybody is interested in joining me this weekend then we could try and get it down lower.I shall buy it only on sunday though.
Also, compare Carmax's offer with KBB & Edmunds trade-in value.
Thank you!
If leather is not a priority then talk to Sheehy Honda .They told me they will give me an EX for $19800 OTD.
I would like to aim for 18,000 (3k below invoice). Do you guys think I should start at 21,000 and talk down to 18. Or just start saying Boch is giving me the car for 18,500 and I am ready to buy if someone can beat the price! I do not know what works better. I wanted them to include a gold emblem and all season floor mats!
I got the car from Sports Honda with the same specs. The car I got includes rear wing spoiler and mud guards, if you take out around $600-$700 from the original price, that was the price, I was quoted without options.
you shall give a try to get a quote from them, I am not sure, whether they are still offering at discounted price. The details of my purchase are in #16160. Price paid without destination is around $19600
Enjoy the shopping..
I did not find any of the great deals mentioned on this site, but I figure that my dal was about $1400 below stick with all the dealer fees included. The inventory of EX and SE I-4's is fairly small at least in the colors I wanted. Good luck with your shopping. Ralph
Best quote so far came from Hendrick Honda:
2007 Honda Accord Sdn LX Auto
$16,695.00
10 TO CHOOSE
Plus $300 internet coupon.
I live in Midwest and dealers can't believe (so they say) prices out east. Using other quotes gives you some leverage. But i have heard from a few dealers say go there (Mass) and buy it. But the Salesperson told me out of State takes longer because they don't give temporary tags in Mass. Paperwork has to be mailed to me then I have to take it to my DMV to be filled out then take it to dealer. Sounds crazy.
Also, I did email dealers before today for about 3 days- now I am doing calls because it is close to weekend and they seem busier, plus I am in the "I'm ready to buy now phase". Hope this helps. Good Luck.
I bought my accord LX tonight from Hendrick Honda in woodbridge. The experience was very good and took me an hour and a half to complete the sale. The guys were nice and honoured all that they said they would.
My price.
Base price with destination $16553
Plus VA tax ,tags ,title.
Total price out of the door $17498
Got honda finance at 5.95% for 48 months.

Shall be glad to answer any of you folks questions.
Could you please forward the email from Ourisman to percy_charcy@yahoo.com
Thanks
Hats off to you man for such a wonderful deal. I am looking for accord but didn't get any quote so far which can match yours or anyway close to yours.
Can you please forward your quote or email form Ourisman at bob_sassy@hotmail.com
Thanks,
bob
I don't think, however, the price will drop $5k in 2 months. If you CAN get it to $15k in 2 months, then you should be able to get it for much less than $20k now.
