One of my friends who is living in Columbia,South Carolina just bought a 2010 Sonata GLS Auto. The OTD price is $15,900. What's wrong with Texas......sigh

Internet person (not on site)- Jim at Lynnes Hyudai in Bloomfield NJ 973-743-2111 ext 1113. The onsite sales person was Steve Eveillard at 943-743-5100. In and out in 20 minutes. Steve and the manager are a pleasure to wok with.
My walk in price at another North Jersey were about $2200 more for the car line item listed above. They called my every 3 days for one month trying to sell me the car for 27900.
Are people really that stupid to still walk into dealerships and negotiate with a salesman?

What's the tax rate in MA?
You said the best offer you received is $16,500, so it's the OTD price?

WOW......
Could we still get so sweet price?
I wish you the best of luck!
I'm holding off for now.
I know some people in VA and SC successfully hit $15,900.
Sad we have a car payment again but so happy to have a bigger safer car with so many features and a warranty to back it up!
GLS w/PZEV 5-Speed Automatic 4dr Sedan
MSRP: $21,405
Included Packages and Options
P2 - Popular package 2
CF - Carpeted Floor Mats
Ipod cable
Window etching (Did not want but was already on the car)
I paid $17,900 out the door here in NJ.
I could have gotten a base model MSRP $20,720 for $17,100 out the door but really wanted one with the P2 package.
My dealer got the Allocation on 3/23. I signed the papers on 3/24.
I got notice yesterday that the expected arrival date is 4/9. Unfortunately, I will be on my way to Seoul, and won't be back until 4/17.
If I get lucky maybe I'll get the car before I leave, but it's looking more like I will have it when I get back.
The transaction was interesting.... It started on 3/12.
I have bought from this dealer before (Elgin Hyundai, in Elgin IL.) They have been good to deal with, but as always, I checked around and got several internet quotes. The happily matched the quote
(Limited w Nav, Cargo Mat, and Floor Mats Sticker $28.3K
PAID $26.6 - .5 owner loyalty= $26.1 + TTL & Doc)
They also were did me right on the trade. They definitely wanted my business, so they took my car in trade, and gave me a 2010 Sonata Limited to drive until mine arrives.
Originally, we all thought they could do a dealer swap within a few days. I knew where a few were, and could have bought in Mid March. The problem was that no dealers would give up a NAV car unless they got NAV in return. My dealer had no navs to trade, and it took them a couple of weeks to get the allocation from Hyundai. While it's a bit tough to wait, I am pleased that they stepped up, wanted my business, and gave me a loaner until my Sonata arrives. They also were great when I completed the paperwork. Got the 2.9% with no hassles, and they respected my wishes to decline add-ons.
I will post more when the car arrives.
- IS, TSX, BMW, MB, they all can be expensive in maintenance. Solution: Hyundai's car is cheaper in maintenance, and plus with same amount of money, you get a brand new Sonata with America's best warranty
- Paying more money just for the badge is not wise. That is true not only in car, but in everything else. Nevertheless, more expensive stuffs can be higher quality and more durable than cheaper stuffs, that's why research, test-drive, reading reviews can help you make right decision.
- "It's still a Hyundai" --> well, Genesis is a Hyundai, and it was named 2009 North America's car of the year beating BMW, Lexus, etc...
Get internet quote, call several internet managers (not just a regular salesman), compare prices and make dealers fight for your business. Good luck.

they show 3 slate blue (my preferred color) in inventory. i called 1 hour before going and was told all 3 were in stock. when i got there, i was told none left. did they really sell 3, nope. they just told me that to get me in the dealership.
one other area i did not like was that window etching is alreay included, no way to decline that option.
lastly, their doc fees were a little on the high side.
i had better prices from franklin sussex hyundai but they did not have any with P2 package.
so if anyone is going to buy from towne denville let me know because i get a $100 referral fee !!!!
I assume you are talking about right as you crank it, when the seatbelt chime dings, etc... right?
Every car I've ever driven does this. Go to youtube.com and search "Hyundai cranking" and I'm sure someone's posted something like that.
