The $500 owner loyalty coupons were mailed to a lot of current owners, but not everyone will get one. However, you are still eligible for the $500 coupon if you currently own a GM vehicle. Instead of turning in your coupon, the dealer only needs to make a copy of your current GM vehicle title or registration. $500 coupons are valid with almost all other incentives. They are not valid for Corvettes, Suburbans and Tahoes, also some other GM vehicles.

Any incentive is applied upon delivery, not when you place an order. Incentives can increase or decrease while your order is being built. Whatever the program is when you drive off the lot, that's what counts.

I tried to find the GM loyalty plan article on autos.com but they only go back to January 6th.

I was told that the coupons are transferrable, by GM. That is what I was banking on.

I have a copy of that article in memory, and if you will give me your e-mail address I will send it to you. Or if you prefer not to put it in the forum, for some reason, my e-mail is:
    rshornsby@clearwater.net.

I ordered ll/19/00 and still don't have an order#, and believe me I am getting restless.

article is on it's way. I hope it gets thru o.k., but if not just let me know, I will re-do it and try again.

Ray: Think I'll go have a beer for you, or with you which ever is appropriate. I hope to get an order# soon. Buyer for my pickup is getting antsy and I can't say that I blame him. He found another one, same as mine, except for the mileage. And if things don't pick up soon, he just might buy the other. Been putting him off for about 3 weeks now. Where's the bottle opener.

The article states that all the customer loyalty coupons will be mailed to millions of people by mid-January. Has anyone seen one of these coupons? What was the stated transfer policy?

    Thanks

    I am looking to buy a 2000 Chevy 1500 4X4 Extd Cab
5.3 Auto w/4.10 gears for towing. What kind of
mileage can I expect. I have read many posts about the 3.73's but not the 4.10's. Also has anyone had a good experience buying in Northern
California. Which dealer? How much over invoice should I expect here. aduran@bellcarter.com
  • rshornsbyrshornsby Member Posts: 200
I did receive the e-mail. The only thing I can say is I'M ENVIOUS of anyone that got an order#, let alone a TPW. Good luck anyway....

    Roger
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
Ive heard the 4.10 gear gives slightly less mileage then the 3.73 ive heard 0-2 mls a gallon. What r u gonna be towing? If its not something all that big the 3.73 should be good enough for like a bass boat jet ski snow mobile stuff like that it should be fine. Now if u have a bigger boat or something then consider it. It really all depends on what you tow.

In my own warped way of thinking, GM must hire the most stupid think tank type of people to decide how to up market shares. They know full well a person can't redeem the coupons if they can't get the pickup. The reason their market share dropped is the non-production of 2500's and a lot of 1500's and then announcing that a 4 door was on the way. To add fuel to the fire, why would anyone in their right mind opt for a $500 coupon, have to use it by 2/00 and go on a waiting list for 4 to 6 months or longer. Honestly I don't think GM has anything on the ball at all anymore. They used to, but now it is just a don't care attitude. Wonder how long they expect to stay in business that way?

    "nuff said.......Roger.

I do have a jetski, and a utility for hauling firewood and crap. But I do plan on buying this summer a travel trailer upwards of 26 feet. Probably around 6000-8000 GVWR.

has anyone used or know anything about the finance company PeopleFirst.com that's advetised on Edmunds? I've never done financing over the 'net, consequently I'm a little queezy about it. They have pretty good rates, but are there any sharp edges I should know about? Your incite and knowledge is greatly appreciated. HELP, please, I'm getting ready to close a deal on a 2K 1500 LS 3-dr loaded-$200 over invoice. Thanks, Jim.
  • werkingwerking Member Posts: 431
show him your invoice and then demand to see his. $543 sounds like the same ballpark as the destination fee ($655) but not exactly. if he won't show you his invoice price (validate it) walk. that $543 may be his intended profit too. you oughta c'mon back to greg stancill and montgomery chevrolet...

I used PeopleFirst finance and it was a piece of cake. It took a matter of hours for approval. I opted for the invoice option rather than the automatic payment, so my interest rate is 7.49% rather than 6.99% (which was being offered about a year ago). Even so, the difference in monthly payment is only a few bucks. Thus far, my experience has been positive.
  • rshornsbyrshornsby Member Posts: 200
Hi: Just my 2 cents worth. I think you will find that his invoice includes the "adjustments" which in reality is advertising fee. It runs any where from 1 to 3 % of MSRP (bottom line) I think.
Looks like your dealers adjustment is about 1.5% of invoice +/- a red hair. I called Greg about this a couple of months ago. And that was what it was. None of the car sites (Carwizard, Stonehedge, etc) show this cost. They don't know what it is. But they do state that is isn't included when you read their fine print.

Roger (still waiting & waiting &waiting.)

I just bought a 2000 Silverado LS for $400.00 over invoice. To receive the rebate all you need to do is show a current registration or title of a GM auto with your name on it and they will process the rebate for you. Little tip don't tell them until you negotiate the price of the vehicle.
  • number1number1 Member Posts: 71
Correct, but if anyone does not currently own a GM follow the instructions on post 513.
  • hopper1hopper1 Member Posts: 25
Talked to dealer today after GM 800# recommeded it. Was told by dealer that loyalty coupon is for GM owners who bought GM vehicles over last several years (he was not sure of year span. He said coupons will be sent out mid Jan. He went on to say you don't have to currently own a GM but have to have owned one since (not sure what year, at least since 1996). He said you can give dealer a copy of registration or bill of sale with your name on it. The dealer would then send it in for you. You have to buy a GM product by Feb 29th. I was told by GM 800 # that some mid ton "work trucks" would be excluded. This did not include the Silverado's. Hope he's right. One sideline: I was told Dec. 17 by GM that my 1500 LT, 4x4, Z7l, 4th door, extended cab was to be built week of Jan. 10th. Called GM 800 # today and was told build week was now week of Jan. 17th. I was told to call back on Monday and they would have detailed info re build info for me. My dealer also called and said they had info it was to be built week of Jan. 10th. Hope it is soon!!! Also I have used People First to purchase car and had no problems.
  • number1number1 Member Posts: 71
My post 513 is valid. You do not have to actually own a GM to get the coupon. An owner of a GM product can call and have the coupon sent to you with the 1-888 number described in the mentioned post.
  • number1number1 Member Posts: 71
The GM folks at the 800 number are very happy to work with you, but they are a big organiztion and the left hand does not always know what the right hand is doing, nor the dealer. I recieved a different response about the coupon each time I called and finally tracked down the 1-888 magic number that was needed.

Did they give you date that you can take delivery of your truck? I looking to order a Sierra SLT 4 door or Silverado LT 4 door 2wd the next couple of weeks. I'm just trying to get my info together.
  • bhimelrightbhimelright Member Posts: 12
THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO PLACE ORDER ON TUESDAY, AS SOON AS I GET ORDER # SHOULD HAVE BETTER IDEA WHEN TO EXPECT DELIVERY

Thanks for the info, if you can like me know the time frame it would be a great help to me.

I just ordered a 2000 LT 4X4 4dr. with limited slip differential, etc. etc. Loaded as much as possible including cellular wiring. Everything except the camper wiring. Ordered the rig with medium graphite with an aftermarket two toned pewter on the bottom. You cannot order a LT two tone. After market is the only way to get it. Spray on bed liner and bug deflector. Bottom line was $34006. Could have purchased from Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, Idaho for 150 over invoice but Larry in Pasco was incredibly cordial and good to work with. I paid more but I would rather support a guy who's going the extra mile.
My question is this: Where can I find a catalog or better yet, a website that has Silverado accessories. I haven't been able to find one.
Promised delivery date when I want to pick it up is the third week in March. Present for the wife.

    Obesa cantavit!

I know that the gmcanada.com (Silverado) web page has gm accessories.

I was told that my truck has a TPW of the week of 01/22/00. GM told me that it takes anywhere from 3 to 44 days to arrive at your dealership (depending on your location).
  • afs11afs11 Member Posts: 86
Sorry, I forgot to add this to the last post. In Canada, the LT model can be ordered with the two-tone!

Since someone has asked a lease deal, I haven't seen any responses. So I am putting my lease deal up for your information. I don't know if it is a good deal, but hope it is the case. The lease is through Wells Fargo Bank. The dealer said they could not find any lease deal GM was offering to meet my payment requirement, only Wells Fargo beat out all the deals available, go figure.

First my reasons for a lease. I don't drive to high miles, mostly city hauling, home improvement work, but also want to be able to take family out of town if have to. I don't care for all the bells and whistles except AC, Auto and radio, which this truck has. It also has the 4.8 v8, extended cab, is a 2000 three-door with front bench seat. Cloth seats but bare floors, you got the idea. Below are the numbers with no trade-in:

23,700 full MSRP without dealer markup
    22,170 Gross capitalized cost
    11,353 Residual value
    595 Acquisition fee
3,014 Total drive-off by the GM card rebate
    60 Number of payments
    250.53 Monthly payment excluding tax
    12,000 Mileage allowence per year
    Closed end lease.

My objective was low payment and no upfront costs, which I was able to obtain. I had hoped for a shorter lease term, but the dealer was not able to get the payment down to what I wanted unless it was a fiver year lease. Oh well.

I hope this fills in the lease gap. I know most people don't care for a lease, just in case some do. I don't have any concern of not owning a vehicle, since I rarely did.

even though im not gonna use it.

A hughes or GM employee or retiree can call the 1-888 number in topic 1473 and have the coupon mailed to a non-gm owner. gm owners simply need to bing their title into the dealer

Is everyone opting for the 500 off option?
The coupon also lets you get the 5yrs/60000
    miles warranty.
Does anyone think the extra 14000 miles warranty
    is better than 500 off?
  • schirfschirf Member Posts: 7
I live in State College, PA and havent found
any good deals on a silverado 1500 LS.
Best one is 765 over invoice.

If I want to use the 500 off coupon, is it too late?
I dont have a truck ordered or anything right now.
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
if something serious is going to go wrong it will go wrong within the first few yrs anbd it will still be under warrenty many people have told me this. Its all up to you though save $500 now and use it or take the chance later and never use the ext warranty. Id go with te $500 off of the truck.

If anyone has access to one of the $500 coupons and would like to give it away, please email me at chuckw@us.ibm.com. I called the 1-800 number and they told me my current GM ('88 Chevy S-10 Blazer) does not qualify. I will be ordering a Silverado LT Ext-Cab 4WD before Feb 29th.

    Thanks,

My dealer called today and gave me a number that Chevy gave them when they accepted our order. I called and they don't have a build week yet..can someone tell me how long they waited once they got this number for the build date? He also said it will be close, if I'll be able to use the $500, since we have to take delivery. He said as long as I have a Chevy registered to me, they'll take off the $500, if delivery is on time.He didn't mention it had to be a certain age.I'll be surprised if delivery is by then, so I'm not getting too excited!
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
If ur ordering before Feb 29 it doesnt matter it has to be on the lot before the 29th for the coupon to be used. Your probably SOL (u know what that means) You will not get one by Feb 29th unless you take off the lot

  • rdve80rdve80 Member Posts: 139
The average from placing order to vehicle delivery is 8-10 weeks, but this is also dependant on the details of your vehicle, availability of options, and transportation to your dealer. When you receive info also depends on how aggressive you are. I placed order 11/24, got order number 12/3, was notified on 1/5 that the build week was 1/10. Actual build was on 1/13 and dealer should have the truck the 1st week of Feb. in Texas. After build week 1/31, your chances of meeting the 2/29 date start really dropping.
