Hi I have alot of blue smoke comming out of my tailpipe. I took it to a local volvo shop that said it may have too much oil. They wanted to replace the oil before any other major work was done. The oil presure did not go down and there was no cpu message or idiot light. Could this be a turbo? if so what is the cost to replace the turbo on a 2001 Volvo V70 2.4t

    Thanks
    Matt

Yes a worn turbo could cause oil burning. Probably a $750 to $1,500 job. If you are handy with tools, you can remove the turbo and send it to rebuilders listed for instance in major automotive magazines. That's what I did and it cost me $400 for a rebuild.

The technician at the garage I frequently visit tells me that it is a 3.5 hr. job to get at the brake booster....is there a quicker way to get this done? He is open to suggestions.

    thanks

For future Volvo issues, please post in the particular model group. You can find them using the "browse by vehicle" to your left.
