I have not been around reading comments for a while. It looks to me as if CC prices have finally started to come down. Is this true? The last time I checked out the message boards a few months ago, people were not able to get them for much under MSRP. I still haven't decided which brand of truck I'm buying yet. However, someone in work just purchased a loaded SE CC 4x4 in the Sand Dune color complete with utility package, bed extender, and all. That truck is very sweet looking in person. the brochure does it no justice. I was impressed with the look. Needless to say I will be looking at CC's when I'm ready to buy. Hopefully next month. Even if I can get one at 2-3% over invoice, that would be great. Any comments would be appreciated.
I went through Microsoft CarPoint. They referred me to a dealer about ten minutes from my home. I was advised to deal with the dealer's fleet department. I went in with my e-mail from CarPoint and pricing information from Edmund's and Kelly Blue Book. Right up front I let the salesman know that I had done my homework, had all the pricing information and was willing and ready to go to another dealer or order one through the Internet if they were not willing to seriously deal. I also let him know that I was willing to purchase the truck on the spot if we could agree on a price. They had at least 15 CC's on the lot. I picked out the truck on the lot that I wanted. They had one with the color and options that I wanted. I drove it home to show the wife and see how it fit in the garage. Their first offer was $500 over invoice. They showed me the factory invoice and the prices matched those given by Edmund's and Kelly. We eventually agreed on $300 over invoice. The entire episode lasted about three hours. It was not a bad experience at all.
TO ll7 I PAID $680 FOR THE LSII. SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE A LITTLE OVER. I HAVE A SPRAY IN LINER. AND THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEM WITH THE COVER. NOT SURE IF THERE WOULD BE ANY PROBLEM WITH THE INSERT. JUST GO ONLINE TO THE A.R.E. PEOPLE AND THEY CAN ANSWER THAT QUESTION. I ALSO FOUND AN ATTACHMENT THAT EXTENDS THE BED CAPACITY ABOUT 3 FEET, SO LONG LOADS DON'T FALL OUT. IT'S CALLED THE HITCH HAND AND SELLS FOR $169 PLUS SHIPPING. I ALSO LOOK AT THE QUAD CAB, I AGREE IT'S BIGGER BUT WOULD NOT FIT IN MY GARAGE. QUALITY WAS A MAIN CONCERN ALSO. I LOOK AT THE SPORT TRAC BY FORD,LOOKS LIKE A NICE RIG. BUT GETTING THE OPTIONS I WOULD LIKE, THE DEALER'S QUOTE WAS 33k. TOO RICH FOR MY BLOOD. IT'S ABOUT 6 INCHES LONGER THAN THE CC. AGAIN QUALITY??? I PAID ABOUT 3% ABOVE INVOICE BUT GOT ALL THE OPTIONS AT DEALER COST. NOT THE BEST BUT NOT THE WORSE. I LEFT ON GOOD TERMS WITH THE DEALER WHICH IS RARE.
I've had my SE CC 4x4 6wks. It's doing good. MPG seems to be 18-20. No vibrations so far. Alpine green and tan inside looks really nice. I'm happy with color choice. Almost picked out the tan, 2nd choice. It was broken in at 79mph by the older guy that drove it the first 391 miles from one dealer to the other. He said he had it on cruise most of the time and loved the ride. He drove a Pathfinder up there and said he liked the CC better. My only complaint so far is the material for the SE seats. It seems cheap compared a friends 91 Stanza GE. I hope I'm wrong in the long run. If not, seat covers will work.Prices seem to have stabled but it'sall in the homework. Read and follow the instructions in Edmunds. It's good advice. Unless you can't wait, just say no, until your comfortable with the deal and final price. Enjoy the ride and view!
I have a SE CC 4X2. 5 speed tranny, sunroof, cd player, alarm, remote entry, bedliner, fully loaded. It's solar yellow w/ black pinstripes. Paid just under $22,000 (500 over invoice). Will take $21,000 for it. It has 3,000 miles on it and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, great truck. Just need out from under the payments. I won't negotiate on the price. AZ tags good for a year and I live in Tucson. I can be contacted at etuffly@aol.com.
Has anyone set up to tow an ultralite travel trailer as yet. I am considering purchasing either a trailer or fifth wheeler (ultra lite). Please advise if anyone has any experience
The Nov issue of Trailer Life magazine's cover story was a 2000 Crew Cab towing a 21 foot Prowler camper trailer weighing 3,540lbs. This was a small but full size trailer. The article had nothing but good news as the Crew Cab towed just fine. I haven't towed yet in mine, although I've installed a class 3 hitch and am all set up. After reading this article, I feel the truck can easily do the job.
Hi, I have the same truck as you. I don't have that problem but my stirring wheel rattles and my dome light falls down all the time. My cc that I bought, doesn't seem to be as tight as the one I test drove. But I'll keep taking it back to Nissan until they fix it.
YAHOO, JUST PICK UP MY BLACK SE CC WITH ALL THREE PKGS. LOOKS GOOD. WELL BE CHECKING THE GAS MILEAGE AND WILL GET BACK TO YOU. WHAT WAS NICE IS THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET IN ON THE 2.9% FINANCE FOR 5 YEARS AND A $475 REBATE WHAT A DEAL. I THINK THE REBATE WAS FOR THE WA. STATE LICENSE TABS. MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS THAT THE CRITICS WERE RIGHT ABOUT A FEW THINGS. THE STEERING IS NOT AS TIGHT AS I WOULD LIKE IT,BUT IT'S A TRUCK. THE ENGINE AND AUTO TRANS IS SMOOTH BUT NOT A POWERHOUSE. ADEQUATE. AND IT FITS IN MY GARAGE. HAVE A NICE NEW YEAR EVERYONE
looking for a nissan crew cab. Are there any great rebates or financing deals going on now? The local dealer says 5.9% ....Sounds too high to me for end of year special. Also .....How does it handle?
I just bought an SE 4x2 Crew cab and at 200 miles I love it. I bought it as an alternative to an SUV type of vehicle. I need seating for four and thought I would get better use of the small pickup bed than a small enclosed area. It came with the bedliner, extender and roof rack.
I looked for XE's, but all of them in my area have the value and power packages installed. This brought the cost to within $500 of the SE. That additional $500 gets you a lot more stuff such as the CD player, better tires, step rails, fancier paint and the option to buy the roof rack.
After negotiating with the dealer here in Jacksonville, Florida, I had him down to invoice + $100 advertising fee, and a $395 markup. This was the lowest he would go. I left and ordered through greenlight.com. They sold it to me for invoice + $500. On top of this they are to send me a "rebate" check for $500 in two weeks. This is a special they are running until 1/22. So, the result is I bought the truck at dealer invoice with no extra charges of any kind, not even advertising fees. And to top it off, greenlight.com sent me to the same dealer to get the truck. It was the same one I had test drove! I hope I am as happy a 100k miles as I am today.
I am also interested in a fiberglass shell for the back. I have seen snug tops on a couple. They were flush with the top of the cab. With the roof rack and fairing installed on my truck, I would like to look at extended height models. Has anybody found one for the crew cab yet?
I am quite impressed with the CC. I don't think you can beat the price and Nissan reliability. Have owned Ford's for the past 11 years. Obviously I am not a quick learner, but I vow to go import this time. Unfortunately I am in a business that needs a bigger bed on the truck. I don't carry alot of weight but need the volume. Has anyone seen a cc with an aluminum flatbed on it? Do you think it would look like a mistake? I was thinking of making it as long as the current bed is with the tailgate down. A flatbed would also not need any wheel wells. This would give me the people and gear carrying capacity I have been looking for without buying a full size extended cab truck. Any comments?
Glad to see you escaped the hail damage! This weekend I was dodging bushes on the backroads of Florida. I know it will get scratched sooner or later, but I would rather it was later!
The shell looks nice. What brand is it and, if you don't mind saying, what did it cost?
I'M NOT SURE WHY YOU DIDN'T SEE THE REBATE FOR THE CC. NISSAN IS OFFERING 2.9% FOR 60 MONTHS. I TOOK IT, FREE MONEY.YOU NEED PERFECT CREDIT. THEY ALSO OFFERED $475 REBATE, BUT COULD HAVE BEEN A LICENSE TAB REBATE. THIS WAS PROBABLY FOR WASHINGTON STATE ONLY. WE PASSED A $30 license tab REFERENDUM. SAVE BIG BUCKS. I PAID $28,400 FOR THE FOLLOWING: SE CC 4X4, ALL THREE OPTION PACKAGES, (TIRE,SPARE TIRE,TAILGATE LOCKS) SPRAY-IN LINER, A.R.E.LSII TONNEAU COVER,WINDOW AND BUG DEFLECTORS, 100K/72MONTH BUMPER TO BUMPER 0-DEDUCTIBLE WARRANTY, AND 8.4% SALES TAX. BOTTOMLINE ABOUT 3%OVER INVOICE WITH THE EXTRAS AT DEALER COST. NOT BAD OR GOOD, EVERYONE IS HAPPY
The cap is locally made here in the frozen wastes of Canada by Arrow Industries. It cost me $1250 Can, approx $870 US. It came painted, the windows are tinted, sliding and screened. Also a brake and an interior battery light and a sliding front window.
Have never regretted putting it on. Visibility suffers a bit, but hey, life is hard.

YES 2.9% FINANCING WITH PERFECT CREDIT. NISSAN IS TOUGH ON CREDIT REVIEWS. ACTUALLY MY WIFE BOUGHT IT,HER CREDIT WAS BETTER. I COULD ONLY GET 3.9 FOR 60 MONTHS. I THOUGHT IT WAS NATIONWIDE GOOD FOR ONLY 10 DAYS. OH BY THE WAY I ALSO GOT THE CARBON FIBER INTERIOR TRIM IN THAT PRICE I QUOTED. HAVE A NICE DAY
Got pricing from Tynan'n in Fort Collins, CO last night for an auto SE 4x4 with all 3 packages (power, sport & utility) with bedliner/extender for $23427. I've checked KBB, Edmunds and other sites and the price seem right where it should be. Anything else out there within that price range that I should be looking at?? I like the handling and appearance of the Nissan Crew and the power's adequate. Also, in terms of aftermarket parts - any websites out there yet for the Crew?? How big a tire can I go on the SE (16" rims) without affecting the speedo, ABS, aso. Thanks in advance to all who respond!! Later, Manny
Manny, Check out your price against carorder.com I will be ordering from them in a few weeks. I can't hardly wait. I'm looking to get a 2WD XE (base model) with the addition of an over the rail bed liner, and a bed extender. CarOrder gave a price back that was only about $100 over Invoice and $1000 under MSRP. I can't find anywhere to beat that price. Check it out! Smitty
That sounds like a good price. Greenlight.com is selling the 4x4 at invoice + they have a $500 rebate, but they are only serving the Southeast at the moment.
Check out the Xterra club on yahoo. They have some good information on tire sizes. I think the Crew Cab and Xterra are pretty much the same from the cab forward.
Maybe we should start a Yahoo Frontier Crew Cab club.
I just saw my first add on TV for the Crew Cab. They mentioned 5.9% financing. I haven't seen any other incentives. I have 7.24% through peoplefirst.com. The best bank/CU financing I found when I was looking was 8.25%. There was no mention of financing incentives when I was at the dealer on 12/31.
After reading more than a few responses in this forum regarding 2.9% finacing, and having only seen advertising for 5.9%, I called my local NJ Nissan dealer and asked about it and the response was if you have excellent credit I can get 2.9%. Before you agree to any other rate make sure all of you ask first it will save you lots of cash that you could better spend on accessories for your new toy.
Hi guys, been reading your posts for days now, as i prepared to buy. Settled on a price today. 4x4 SE with power package, utility package, under the rail bedliner, floor mats and automatic transmission, and paid 22,400. I figure thats 1 1/2 % over invoice. I played two dealers against each other to get there, just like Edmunds said. Took a lot of nerve, and a lot of arguing, but got there. Hope I did ok.
I just started a new "clubhouse" on Yahoo. Follow this link to get there. You have to register with Yahoo to use it, but it comes with all kinds of nice features. I have already started a list of links to web sites.
Hi guys, I just put my deposit down on my new CC, and I ordered an under the rail bedliner, because I really like the fiberglass tonneau covers, but one question. The tonneau cover has a lock on it, does this also lock the tailgate closed, or will I have to get a lock for that too?
I'M LOOKING TO TRADE AN OVER THE RAIL BEDLINER FOR AN UNDER THE RAIL BEDLINER, ANYONE INTERESTED? I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (PLACENTIA), IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT ME AT WILMAC42@AOL.COM THANKS
i have an xev6 crew cab manual 5sp. dealer fixed rattle problem. noise was from horn contacts in steering. they said springs are too weak for air bag horn pad--anyway they fixed problem by installing foam tape @ mounting bolts also when i take my leg of accelerator say 55 or 75 the engine has a very slow response 2.5 to 3 seconds before the rpm drop this also happens at slow speeds, meaning i have to brake more plus abs makes a crunching sound when braking in icy conditions -- any help!!!!!
Postalman, I just purchased an ARE LSII tonneau for my CC. When the cover is closed and locked it locks the tailgate closed because it extends over the tailgate. I believe that all tonneau covers basically work the same. By the way, I paid $745 plus $40 installation charge in Houston, TX. It looks great and the color matches perfectly.
I found a glitch on www.carorder.com 's website. This error gets you an automatic 4-speed transmission for the price of a manual 5-speed. This may work on other Trimlines too but so check it out. I configured an XE 2WD (which comes standard with a manual transmission). However, when you go to customize the configuration, there is not an option to change the transmission. I never noticed a couple weeks ago because I was looking for a 5-speed anyhow. Then when you go to the invoice printout screen, it shows that there is an automatic transmission. You can check it out against Kelly Blue Book. The same model in automatic trans should be selling for $992 more!!! I called carorder and asked them about it and they said they were required by law to honor that price and configuration. Therefore, I ordered and am getting my truck at $892 BELOW Dealer Invoice.
Finally got my Silver Ice Crew with all the bells and whistles. The dealer had a bike rack sitting at the back that a customer didn't want so he threw it in with the deal. Question, does anybody know how these things mount?? It looks as if it's missing parts but not sure which part. Can anybody help me out on this or if you know of a site, pass it along. Thanks a lot and Enjoy the Ride!!
My son wants to buy a Nissan Crew Cab. Any comments pro or con from owners of this vehicle would be appreciated. COmments can be on Town hall or send to my email address kente@erols.com
I bought a Nissan CC XE 2WD, Charcol Grey, Automatic, with no packages (I regret that now) last November. I do have the wheel well flares, bed liner, bed extender, cloth interior, and other "extras", though!! I got the dealer down to about 18,500 before 7% tax, tag, title, etc. I financed with Nissan for what was then a low 5.9% rate. Folks on other topic lists are saying that Nissan is offering down to 2.9% based on credit. My beacon score was passed 800 and I did not get offered anything lower (or know to ask) so I got the 5.9%. Now on to the truck. I broke the vehicle in as recommended and am getting 18 MPG which is normal. V6, to me, is plenty of power as I don't tow boats or campers. Smaller bed, too, is fine and handles everything I want to drag around. Back seat has plenty of space for my three boys as I am not tall and don't have to push the front seats all the way back to be comfortable. Some complaints from others on tight back seats, but not from me (try getting in and out of the Cherokee over the wheel well with its puny back doors and the Nissan CC stands proud!). If you got the $$$, I'd splurge for the SE models which have step rails, 16" rims with 265 tires, and cruise control, not to mention power everthing. This, though, will run about $25,000 and up, but you will not have the "I wish I had" syndrome like have now! My only complaint is the gas milage and small tank. You have to stop every 300 or so miles to fill up! Other than that, I hope you pick the Nissan. They deserve it as they "came out" first here in the U.S., but have been building crew cabs for 20 years for other markets. Dodge, Ford and the others are relatively new!
WENT THRU MY FIRST TANK FULL WITH MY 4X4 CC SE AUTOMATIC, GOT 18.3MPG. I'M NOT A LEAD FOOT BUT I DID USE IT TO GO SKIING AND HAD TO USE THE 4X4 AT TIMES. EASY TO ENGAGE BELOW 25MPH BUT HAD A LITTLE TROUBLE DISENGAGING IT. ANY POINTERS??? ALSO HAVE AN A.R.E LSII TONNEAU COVER WITH A SPRAY IN LINER. IT LOOKS GREAT. HOWEVER, WITH THE TONNEAU COVER,THE CLAMPS DON'T ALLOW THE BED EXTENDER TO ROTATE IN OR OUT. EVEN IF YOU MOVE THE CLAMPS THE LOCKING MECHANISM IS IN THE WAY. JUST THOUGHT I POINT THAT OUT. SO I FILED THE PLASTIC NUT SO THE EXTENDER COULD BE REMOVE IN ANY POSITION OTHER THAN THE UP POSITION. SO FAR I'M ENJOYING THE RIDE. THE WINDOW FLARES AND THE CARBON FIBER INTERIOR IS NEXT TO BE INSTALLED. PART OF THE DEAL WHEN I PURCHASE THE TRUCK.HAVE A NICE DAY
Just finished a deal today with a near by dealer. Got a WHT 2000 4x4 SE CC with all three pkgs (pwr, utility, sport)a mats, bed liner and extdr. Got it for 23,344.I hope I did well on the deal.
By the way I want to put a tonneau cover on it, must I have an under rail liner for hard cover or over the rail will also do. Let me know ASAP.
YOU NEED TO GET THE UNDER THE RAIL OR A SPRAY IN LINER LIKE LINEX OR RHINO. USUALLY THE TONNEAU COVER IS INSTALLED WITH FOUR CLAMPS. THEY CLAMP TO THE OUTER RAIL. WITH THE NISSAN OVER THE RAIL LINER IT CAN'T BE DONE. I HAVE A OVER THE RAIL SPRAY IN LINER. I FEEL IT'S THE WAY TO GO. CHECK OUT MY ABOVE POST. BED EXTENDER DOES NOT WORK WITH A TONNEAU COVER. HAVE A NICE DAY
Just purchased a charcoal SE 4x4 Crew Cab this past Saturday. I got all 3 packages (less sunroof), under-rail bedliner, bed extender, and tonneau cover (deal ended @ $21,959). I'm very happy with this truck -- plenty of room for kids and my "stuff".
One question to lebeau69, how did you modify your cover to accomidate the bed extender?
Lebeau, What did you pay for the ARE tonneau cover, I'm looking at one for my truck too, I stuck with the regular under the rail liner, I like being able to slide my jon boat up in by myself, worried the non skids will make it tougher.
I PAID $670.00 FOR THE A.R.E. LSII COVER INSTALLED. IT'S MADE OUT OF FIBERGLASS. PRETTY STIFF STUFF. IT'S MADE TO LOOK LIKE THE FRONT HOOD SOMEWHAT. JUST A POINTER ON WHOEVER INSTALLS YOUR COVER. HAVE THEM WASH IT BEFORE. I HAVE A BLACK TRUCK AND THE COVER WAS COVERED IN FIBERGLASS DUST AND IT'S VERY ABRASIVE, WHICH CREATES SWIRL MARKS WHEN HANDLED BY CARELESS PEOPLE. I MODIFIED THE BED EXTENDER BY FILING DOWN THE PLASTIC FASTENER THAT IS USED TO ATTACH IT TO THE BED. HARD TO DESCRIBE, BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE PLASTIC FASTENER,IT IS FLAT ON ONE AREA. THIS ALLOWS YOU TO TAKE IT OFF IN THE UP POSITION. IT ALSO LOCKS IT INTO PLACE WHEN IN THE EXTEND OR RETRACT POSITION. WHEN YOU MODIFY IT, LIKE I DID, IT WILL COME OFF IN ANY POSITION. SO THE FASTENER IS HELD DOWN WITH SMALL BUNGIE CORDS FOR NOW. I USE THESE CORDS BECAUSE OF MY MODIFICATION TO THE EXTENDER,IT DOES NOT STAY IN PLACE. WITH THIS MOD I'M ABLE TO REMOVE ONE SIDE AT A TIME AND REPOSITION THE EXTENDER THE WAY I WANT. WITH THE TONNEAU COVER LOCKED I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SOMEONE STEALING IT. ONE MORE OBSERVATION IF A TONNEAU COVER IS NOT INSTALLED, THEN A TAILGATE LOCK IS NEEDED IF YOU DON'T WANT SOME ONE TO WALK AWAY WITH THE EXTENDER.

I PAID $680 FOR THE LSII.
