here in N Cali dealers are quoting MSRP. reason they say is Camry is running out of stock. any truth to this???? they really sold all the Camry sitting in the ports.

i hope prices will get better!

    Hi AU74.

Yes, we were suprised about getting both. The Fitz guy told me on phone that all their cars would be marked up $500 when the zero percent interest went into effect. But I kept looking and the Red one never went up friom the $19,288.
Even when I went to dealership, I kept expecting to hear about the 'error' regarding the $500 . . . but it never happened.

Please look at my earlier post and the post by au74. We clearly show that we paid 84.4% of the window sticker. And the dealer is still making money off of us. So that gives you a beginning point.

And best if you leave out all the info about your clunker, the taxes paid to your state, etc., as that just confuses the issue for those who are reading and trying to determine what is a good deal.

Just look at the bottom of the window sticker, multiply by .844 and go from there.

This car only came with one add on; that was the set of carpets for inside car and trunk. This runs window sticker up from 22650 to 22850.

But talking about options is the wrong way to try to ascertain what is a good deal. It just confuses the issue and makes the numbers almost meaningless. Just stick with whatever the window sticker is for the car you are interested in and go from there.

Hello Moulder 1, You are on target. You should pay around $20,200 with the CARS rebate ($23,700-$3,500 = $20,200) + TTL
  • au74au74 Member Posts: 4
Though I posted additional numbers, I agree with camrylooker about the numbers that matter, but with one quibble. I think any fees that are not actually mandated by the state should also be posted, because they can vary widely.

Fitz charges a processing fee of $99 (at least in Maryland), but I've seen posts here referring to much larger numbers at other dealers (IIRC $599). Fitz also charged a $12.50 title processing fee, but it may be mandated.

Glad to hear you finally went out and got a quote. You didn't need much information from me (or anyone else) afterall. Just go to Fitzmall or use edmunds TMV (like I did) and you pretty much have close to bottom dollar pricing, and since you got to specify exactly what you wanted - there is no additional confusion about options, and a lot more reliable than reading what anonymous posters claim to have acheived. But after your third degree about my cash for clunkers deal, I see that you don't even mention it in any of your sebsequent posts. Hmmmm.

Wish I had had a Fitzmall closer to me, but would have had to drive over 200 miles and would have had to drive my poor old clunker plus another car to do the deal I wanted. I could have saved another $1000 or the clunker I swapped could have broken down and I would have lost out on the $4500 as well as a couple of lost days in travel. That's why I said there were too many variables for you to get my deal or for me to get yours.
  • camrylookercamrylooker Member Posts: 10
No, diodoa, I did need info from you and others. Without this website I never would have heard about FitzMall. And the most important number for us to exchange, I think, is the fact that au74 and myself paid 84.4 percent of bottom window sticker. That is a statistic that should be helpful to everyone.

I didn't mention anymore about the clunker deal because I thought it just adds more confusion to the numbers since it is not relevant to what amount you can get the dealer to come down in price.

However, in fact, I did do the $4,500 clunker deal. And like au74 (I think it was him) I only got one dollar above the $4,500. No real salvage value like you got.

And like au74, when I asked about it, I got something like . . . the full price dealers will give you some salvage, but since we are rock bottom on prices, no such deal with us . . . we get $50 from government or some such bla, bla, bla. And like au74, I never sought to bicker over a couple of hundred dollars since the deal otherwise was thousands below what I could get anywhere else. Dan Cava, et al would only come down $1,200 or so from window whereas I got $3,500 or so off of window.

I'm having a hard time in the Bay Area also...(CA) getting decent pricing on a 2010 4 cylinder LE....They seem to be upping the prices due to demand....Any places in Northern California....problems just like 07pilot4me has....Costco pricing is $21,596 Is this reasonable?
  • djsf1djsf1 Member Posts: 9
What are the dealerships in LA area...I live in Northern California but will be coming down there this weekend so I could bring my car with me....
  • mchopefulmchopeful Member Posts: 5
The best quote we quote for LE MSRP $22,850 is $20,969 (dealer invoice) + TTL. Is this a good price? If we pay cash, it is $500 less. Majority of dealers that we have contacted via email are not responding to our requests. They seem be getting a lot more traffic and business due to cash for clunker.

I just got back from a dealership where I was looking at a 2010 camry SE V6.

Sticker price on the car was 26,900 with the 200 for floor mats.
The salesman said he would give 200 over what he said was "invoice", making it 25,950. He also offered 0.0% interest for 60 months. With the 2000 for my trade in and TTL, it was 25,750 OTD.

Is this a good deal? What are other people paying for the 6 cylinder SE?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Invoice should be at least $2000 lower than MSRP, and you should get $1500+ below invoice.
  • packers85packers85 Member Posts: 1
In Albany New York I am getting this for a deal msrp $21,900 to $20,900 and then would get an additional $3,500 for a total of $17,400. Does everybody feel that $1,000 off is decent.

    Thank you.
  • Mike_R1957Mike_R1957 Member Posts: 10
That's along the price I'll be paying when ours comes in. The MSRP was $24,150, but I got them to $21,800 (about invoice price) + TTL. I really don't see how some people get deals for $1500 under invoice. Maybe they do & maybe they don't, but I guess I'm one of those that don't have a problem with a dealer making a little profit. I just don't want them making all their annual profit on me! I'm hoping by the time the car comes in Toyota will have some sort of rebate back on. It was $500 when we ordered which would have made the price $21,300, but nothing right now.

We do (were you implying that me and camrylooker were lying?). At the time, I posted a direct link to the car my deal matched. Anyone on here could have taken that deal. Camrylooker did.

However, that was a couple of weeks ago. Stocks of Camry LE have fallen and now they want full invoice price at Fitzmall, or about $1800 more than I paid. If you can, wait a few weeks until they have more inventory and see if the prices come back down.

for less than $21k OTD? None seem to be going down below that. No wonder the 09' Accord LX AT Sedan is selling more for around $20,100 OTD. It would be interesting to see how much Toyota dealers in Houston are willing to drop prices once this clash for clunker ends Monday.
  • lavelilaveli Member Posts: 12
Well about a week ago i emailed about 5 dealerships here in SOCAL and all 5 turned me down even for invoice price.

How much were you asking below invoice?
  • jason50jason50 Member Posts: 55
I was only asking them to match the $20,100 OTD price my friend received from a 09' Honda Accord LX Sedan base model to the Camry 2010 base model, but they weren't even willing to go below $21,000 OTD for a base Camry. I don't know about SOCAL, but in Houston, they weren't willing to budge. I think the best deals are yet to come when this clash for clunkers ends.

Just bought this 2010 Camry SE Auto from Toyota of Bradenton in Florida.

Initially was interested in a 2009 Honda Civic EX Auto, but got lied at from the Salesperson at the Honda Bradenton Dealership (artificially inflated price by Clunker NOT being tax deductible, plus made up a Registration fee of $599 which I knew was [non-permissible content removed], but he insisted that this is the real cost. Also insisted that State Taxes be applied before Clunker deduction, which he also insisted was true). Got a out the door price of $15,000, which I would have been willing to pay $14,500. This would be a cash deal, as finance rates were too high.

Went to the neighboring Toyota dealer and finally settled for the Toyota. For $4'300 more, I have a larger and more comfortable car WITH stability control, also a 2010 model versus the 2009 Honda.

Car would have been $18,800 cash, but dealer offered me *ZERO percent Financing for an additional $500 upfront. Now, that is for 5 years / 60 month - SWEET!

This dealer had the highest car dealer fee of $699 and also tried to cheat with tag/title fees. Well, maybe they all do. Sticker price was slightly over $24,000, which included the overpriced car mats.

I think I could have done better / paid too much, but only had Friday left to make the purchase, as I was going out of town Saturday, with C4C ending Monday.

Started negotiating around 5pm and walked out around 10pm.

    Any thoughts? :shades:
  • 07pilot4me07pilot4me Member Posts: 52
so what was the price of the car before C4C??
what was the price after your clunker was deducted (3500 or 4500?)

I am in western Mass and have been trying to get a best price on the CAMRY 2010 LE 4 CYL with MSRP of 22850 financed for 5 Yrs at 0%.
One of the dealer provided the following quote and I wonder is this a Good deal or Not?
    Car price 20841 + doc fee of 460 + 6.25% tax = approx 22603 is OTD
I will use the grad discount which will bring OTD to approx 21600 financed for 5 years.
I do not want to lose the 0% offer and the time is running out. Not sure if Toyota will continue this 0% next month or not when there will be more inventory.
Any suggestion or dealer info that any of you have dealt with successfully in paying less than what i have been offered in the MA, CT or surrounding states will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Guys,

I am looking to purchase a 2010 Toyota Camry with Cloth/Leather Seats and Navigation and wanted to know if you can help me out. In my research on this forum I didn't see a lot of people purchasing cars with the navigation, so I wanted to get some info on how much I should be expecting to pay.

I need the car for my work in Ohio but I am willing to purchase anywhere there is a deal. If you are looking to make a purchase I can also join you and maybe we can get a better deal.

    Thanks for the help

Originally before C4C, I was offered a price of $25,800 OTD for a 2010 Toyota Camry SE Auto with sunroof with 2.9% APR Financing. After a downpayment of $2,850 I would be paying $411.36.

While C4C was going on dealerships wanted MSRP for it making it $29,758.40 OTD for the car. CRAZY!!!

Now that it is over and the 0% is still going on the lowest price I can get for the car is $26,850 OTD with 0% APR financing. That saves me $681.60 from the $25,800 OTD with 2.9%. Is this good? I need to buy by tomorrow.

On 8/19 purchased a 2010 Camry SE auto sticker $25,205 for $22,026 at Prime Toyota in West Roxbury This was $3,179 off of list and was the dealers first internet price quote.Build date was 08/09. They were $1,000 less than Boch and $500 less than IRA. Doc fee was $295 and I also got 0% for 5 years. Pleasurable experience.
  • roy2001roy2001 Member Posts: 62
That's $1000 higher than some of the quoted price before C4C.
  • aa59aa59 Member Posts: 3
The new quote - From Woburn Toyota Boston is less than 600 than the previous quote. Offered a flat 22k out the door.
Any particular dealer that I can try to get this deal to 20K flat out the door?
    Any help will be appreciated

Go to Boch.Com. They are in Norwood,MA.They are selling that $22,850 sticker for $19,995 this weekend under the weekly promotions drop down on the promotions tab of their website. If you subtract $1000 for the college rebate to $18,995 then with the tax and $295 doc fee you will be at $20,500+/-. That may be as close as you can get.

    Good luck.

I used to live in Fairmont now I live in Northern VA. I just got a quote the other day for a 2010 camry LE with moonroof, alloy wheels and leather interrior for 24800 out of which 1k was for the leather. So you can definately negotiate a rate of $23500 for the Camry LE with moonroof and alloy wheels. goodluck. Grab the offer now, the 0% financing for 60 mos lasts until 8/31/09. Goodluck

Thanks, I did speak to BOCH on Friday but they did not honor or mentioned any thing like that. Anyways, I bought it from Prime and paid OTD 20,500. with the car price of 18841 which was the best i had received from all the dealers.

    0% offer ends on 9/8/2009

Could you let me know which dealership you had the price in Los Angeles area? I searched all dealers around area, every dealer quote the price based on MSRP.
  • montecristomontecristo Member Posts: 11
You should be able to get at least $20,900 +TTL. ($22,500 MSRP)
Tustin Toyota, Irvine Power Toyota, Hollywood Toyota, and SouthBay Toyota all offered $20,900. A auto-broker offered me $20,200+TTL over the phone so I emailed the dealers if they can beat that. One of the dealers responded by saying if I get that in writing, he'll beat that.

Hi.. I just wanted to post my 2010 camry leasing experience with Interstate Toyota Airmont, NY, 5 minutes from Bergen County, NJ, which went really smooth, and quickly. We got the price we wanted (maybe could have gone lower but needed it the next day).

LE model w/sunroof, 4 cyl, no allow wheels..
    21,000 + (664 fee -tax?)
$0 down - toop was $700 which included 1st months payment and mv fees.
$267.22 per month, standard 36 month lease

The only thing is.. our lic plates and registration have not arrived yet. It's only been a little over a week, since the temp ones expired. We got the car end of July.

Does this happen often to people?

Just wondering what to do (I have called them).
  • coldheart945coldheart945 Member Posts: 5
I received price quote from Irvine Power Toyota of $21,900, that is the lowest so far I got. I mentioned you someone received price at $20,900 but they want to look at the contact before they could match it.
  • mchopefulmchopeful Member Posts: 5
I have received this quote from Hamer Toyota of Mission Hills on 8/10. You can give them a try to see if they can still match the quote. Good luck!

I am also having hard time in looking good deal in bay area. I started to monitor the price since June, and waiting for good program like 60 months/0% interest. Although the program finally came out, c4c program came along as well. That drove up the price quite a bit and pretty much depleted the inventory. In june/july you can still find a car under 19K (at Sunnyvale), not anymore even 4c4 is over. Finally, with referral from Yelp, I found this fabulous sales person at Capitol who's been patiently bearing with me. Finally we were able to nail down the price that makes everyone happy ($20,393 + tax/license). It's unbeatable price as I am writing.

    Hi,

I am also looking for Camry 2010 LE Model. The price $20,303.00 seems to be good deal since i talked to many car dealers in bay area. can you please let me know sales rep name of capital expressway so that i can talk to them to see whether i can get the same deal.

    appreciate your reply.
  • tmkl1tmkl1 Member Posts: 10
No. That was the price for the car only. The $295 doc fee $125 reg and 6.25% brought the OTD price to $23,822. There was no trade or C4C involved. The $22,026 price on the $25,205 sticker represents invoice price less the holdback. Best deal I have seen without the college grad $1k which I did not qualify for. Nice people who are out to beat Boch and IRA.

I am trying to figure what would be good - cash - price on 2010 XLE (without nav) around Chicago, anyone ?
  • acura_na2acura_na2 Member Posts: 16
    Hope this will help someone:

    MSRP: $23,xxx
    $22,835.97 OTD
    2010 Camry LE/ Auto
    Magnetic Grey
Options: Floor mats, vehicle protection package
0% interest in lieu of the $1000 rebate

Comments: Houston Dealers would not budge...had to work hard to get it under $23,000 OTD. Added extra warranty, vehicle service contract (camry takes premium oil now???), and Lo-Jack. My logic:
    1. Extra warranty - good for 100k miles, fix a broken A/C in the Texas heat would pay for itself. Also 0% interest
    2. Vehicle Service Contract - figured at 0% it would be better than paying out of pocket come major maintanence time.
    3. Lo-Jack - wife wanted it, but it does help to save with insurance premiums. Should pay for it itself over the life of the loan.
All of those 3 items were negotiated at a lower rate with the finance guy (the haggling doesnt stop at the final car price!). Final OTD was ~26,000 , no down payment, 0% interest for 60months.
***0% rate expired on 9/8/09. I believe toyota is now running $1000 off or 2.9% for 60 months

it gets pretty complicated but i will try to only put the information i think is needed.

my friend has to get some one off his current lease contract(reason unknown), which i was told is not possible. it is a 07 jeep commander v6 in excellent condition. his payoff on it is roughly 19,700 with 14 months left on the lease. the dealer offered him 15k for it as a trade in, so he is already going into this deal upside down -$4700

now, the car he was looking to finance ( he doesn't want to lease again) is a 2010 Camry se w/ sunroof and 16' aluminum rims and i think the sport package, im not sure... but i think thats about it.

so after a few days of trying to bring the price of the car down, and the offer for the trade in up, the numbers are looking something like this

    trade in negative $4700

camery se 4 cyl, auto, with 16' aluminum rims, sun roof ( possible sport package?) including destination charge and the other stuff beside tax tittle etc... $25,100

he is not putting any money down and they are giving him 9% apr @ 72 months, his monthly payment was quoted to be $593.00

i dont know what to think of this deal, especially because of the trade in with negative equity.

on 1 hand i think it is ok, because

#1 he is not putting any money down
#2 he is getting out of a gas guzzler and into something much cheaper to fill up( some savings right there)
#3 i dont know if he could get a better offer on his jeep, or is 15k a bad offer?kbb has it at 16k for trade in
#4his credit is pretty much shot, and his co signer is barely pushing 670 fico, so i dont know if the 9% apr is good or bad for his situation, (im guessing 9% is as good as it will get)i could very well be wrong
#5 probably his most important reason, he needs to get out of the lease to remove someone, asap.

    but on the other hand

#1 if it were me i would not pay $25,100 for that car, but i do know dealers like to do some sort of seesaw when it comes to buying your trade in, than selling you a car, like they will give you a "good" price on your trade in, than try to kill you on the price of the car, or vise versa

#2 i dont know if i would obligate myself to a 72 month term of 9% apr

but that is just me, his options are limited, is this the best deal he can get?

is this deal good, bad or mediocre?

When I got my car I purchased the Premium Coverage which can be canceled within 60 days. It includes the oil changes at 5,000 miles and the 15,000 30,000 45,000 services. They said it was a $2500 value and I got it for $1395. Yesterday I called different dealers asking how much oil changes ($40 each), 15,000 ($97), 30,000 ($450), 45,000 ($200). I came to approx $1300 (includes tax) which is pretty much break even. Oh it also comes with road side assitance but I already have AAA. Seems like I could leave this money in the bank until I need it and could go to a mechanic besides toyota.

Is this coverage worth it or would I be better of canceling it?

    Thanks,
    Chris
