No leather (TX is too hot for leather). Just base SE I4 model with rear spoiler+floor/trunk mat+vehicle shield package.
  • lonestar4lonestar4 Member Posts: 11
Can you tell what dealer gave you this deal?
I'm in Houston too and looking for an SE with almost exactly the same spec, minimum add on as possible. Thanks,

    Fort Bend Toyota

Got another offer from a dealer in Houston.

2010 Toyota Camry SE I4 AT
    1) Extra Value Package #1 (moonroof, rear spoiler, dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors, rear personal reading assistance lights)
    2) Night vision auto-dimming mirror
    3) Vehicle shield package
    4) Premium carpet mat

    $22861.00+tt&l after $500.00 rebate

So this dealer is trying to sell me $500 extra for a moonroof I didn't ask for and a auto-dimming mirror I have no idea what it will do. Should I take this or the one before without the roof and mirror for about $500 less.
  • mbolivermboliver Member Posts: 55
I would go for this deal. The moonroof alone is $752 invoice, $940 MSRP price back in the 2007 version so you're getting a deal on that and the mirror....this should all add resale value to you in the end. What dealership is offering you this price? I'm in Houston as well.
  • tomkentomken Member Posts: 20
    Sterling McCall
I'm pretty sure you can get this same car cheaper in Fort Bend.
Don't know much about moonroof. Not sure what's the difference between sunroof and moonroof. But had friends that got leak in their sunroof after few years. Don't know the new one improved or not.

I bought a new 2010 Camry sedan last week. I knew nothing about the floor mat recall, and was surprised to notice that when I removed the paper floor covering, there was no floor mat beneath it. I have now discovered there are NO floor mats at all in the vehicle. I asked the sales person a few days ago over the phone how the floor mat problem was going to be resolve, and he said that was a good question and he'd get back to me on it, but he hasn't phoned back. Are floor mats standard equipment? I'm wondering if my driving the car home without mats means I accepted it in that condition and have no recourse.
  • mcdawggmcdawgg Member Posts: 1,722
Floor mats are not standard equipment. Check the sticker and see if they are supposed to be on your car. If they are listed on the sticker, then the dealer owes you them once Toyota figures out how to deal with people that don't follow directions.

The floor mats WILL NOT cause any problems unless they are not secured with the hooks. The other thing that causes problems is putting in floor mats on top of other floor mats. See your owner's manual - it tells you this.

What you can do - get Weathertech floormats. They are designed for the specific car you own, and they have the grommet holes for the hooks, just like the Toyota ones. Just put them in correctly, and they will never cause you a problem. They are better than any makers' mats, in that they protect your carpet much better. Just Google for it. I have the Toyota all-weather mats in one Camry, and the WeatherTechs in the other one. The Toyota all-weather mats are good, but the Weathertechs are better, especially if you live where it snows or in muddy areas.

Any one got good deals for Camry LE in NJ ?
  • mcdawggmcdawgg Member Posts: 1,722
    Update:

I just read that only the all-weather and clear floormats cannot be sold. If this is correct, that means that either the dealer owes you the carpet floor mats or your car doesn't come with them - again, check your sticker (the window sticker with the prices, options, etc.). You can always order Toyota carpet ones from any Toyota parts store online or at the dealer, or just get the WeatherTech ones.

If you want to try someone else try Champion Toyota in Houston off the gulf frwy.
I bought 2010 Camry SE 4 cyl AT with following options
    1) Extra value package #1
    2) auto dimming mirror with compass
    3) Leather Seats
    4) Sunroof
    5) Tinted Windows

    $23,500 + TTL
  • tomkentomken Member Posts: 20
Everything look good except leather seat. Texas is a little to hot for that. Especially I will be parking the car outside. Right now I'm lending toward Sterling McCall if they offer me a reasonable price. Since they helped my dad applying for the TX clean air rebate. I understand I can use that rebate anywhere I want, but since they helped so I will help them in return if they are not trying to rip me off big time.

Just purchased 2010 Camry LE auto at $19388 +TTL. Is this a good price?

    23,500 with or without rebate?

Just bought 2010 Camry LE from Dallas TX .MSRP 23,846 plus 199 for window tint. Got it for 21,853 drive out price with 500 rebate.

Can you tell what extra fees beside sale tax?
I bought a car from Sterling Mccall back in 2004. Just dig up the paper work to see what all the fees were and here are what I found. I think I got ripped off back then with some of these fees. Try to be smarter this time.

    MSRP $30,178
    Selling Price $27,614
DPA (don't know what this "fee" is, and it seems like I could never get a straight answer) $385
    State Sales Tax $1,750
    Vehicle Inventory Tax $69
License, Title, County Rd & Bridge Fee, Full Service Deputy Fee, State Inspection $132
    Documentary Fee $50
  • lonestar4lonestar4 Member Posts: 11
    Beware of Sterling Mccall.
I just found out this DPA fee (Dealer Prep Charge). It's a scam and I'm one of the victims. Several complains on the net, but this one shows details of the scam. The website is no longer available, but you can view the catch. I guess I'll buy my SE elsewhere. Don't want to give these people more business.

  • tomkentomken Member Posts: 20
DPA is Dealer Prep Charge, some type of scam the dealer is trying to make some money of. Sterling McCall is a big ripoff. The last two cars my family bought are from Fort Bend Toyota (my brother said $400 cheaper maybe because without the DPA charge) and a Honda. If Sterling McCall doesn't offer me a reasonable price I'm going back to Fort Bend Toyota.
  • renew2renew2 Member Posts: 23
That is with the $500 rebate... SE rebates are $500 and I think all other models are $1000.
  • tomkentomken Member Posts: 20
Right now the rebate is $500 for all Camry models except Hyrib. They usually have $1000 rebate on LE. Probably in November after this $500 rebate is over.
  • smallpurposesmallpurpose Member Posts: 2
Just bought a 2010 Camry LE AT with the Sat radio/Bluetooth package and the extra value package (alloy wheels). Paid 21625+TTL and 0.0% finance. It's little late but hope I didn't over pay for the car.

2 quotes I got for 2010 Toyota Camry SE I4 AT

    $22861.00+tt&l after rebate

    1) Extra Value Package #1 (moonroof, rear spoiler, dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors, rear personal reading assistance lights)
    2) Night vision auto-dimming mirror
    3) Vehicle shield package
    4) Premium carpet mat

    $22500.00+tt&l after rebate

    1) Extra Value Package #1 (moonroof, rear spoiler, dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors, rear personal reading assistance lights)
    2) Premium carpet mat

Which one is better? What is Night vision auto-dimming mirror?
  • mcdawggmcdawgg Member Posts: 1,722
#2 Night vision is like pulling the lever underneath the rear view mirror - this does the same thing automatically.

#3 Vehicle Shield.... sounds like a dealer add-on - not worth it.

Of the two, the second one is better ($22,500), in my opinion.

Interested in special leasing deal from gulf state toyota. the deal is 179/month for 36 months 12k miles for year with 2100 due at signing. My questions is this a good deal?

When I asked a dealership here in texas for the deal, he tells me that I need to bring in 3.1k for the deal. Another told me 4.3k. These are the same base camry without add on. I have asked them to forward me the print out detailing the numbers but none has done so. In addition to first months lease, are there any addition fee that I should expect when leasing? Thank you all in advance.

    Grettings,

Due to family growth we need more room + safety therefore I'm looking for a new 2010 Camry to replace my 2008 corolla.

I'm located in Austin Texas and I'll like to know what people in this area are paying currently (Price/rebate/APR_%).
The current best deal here in Austin is charles Maund Toyota with $3.000 ($2.500 Dealership + $500 Toyota) off on all inventory models OR 0.0% APR for 36 months (outch the montly payments!) OR 2.9% APR for 60 months.

    My questions:
    1) - Does any one knows a better deal?
    2) - Is It usual to buy in other city in texas (Houston, Dallas) If i have there a better deal and want to car to be register on me leaving in Austin? Sorry for the question but comming from oversee and leave here only 1 year ago

The other point where we are not sure currently is with the timing to buy. Now we know that we need a "better" car safety wise sooner or later and we'll like not continue to pay in the 2008 corolla we've financed.

The only problem is "may be" waiting for thanksgiving/Xmas deals. There may be or not a better deals on 2010 camrys (looking into 0.0 % for 60 months + [MRSP -$ dealer's Rebate]). This will help break even on what we've already pay into the 08 corolla to minimize/reduce our lost in depreciation and the sooner we take the decision (buy; means not putting money in the corolla) then less is the money lost and we can still trade It in in the right time the get the most of It.

I'll to get your inputs/advice regarding this situation.

Question 3) - Do you think Toyota will increase the rebate, curently $500 on 2010 camry after 11/02/2009 with respect to the economy (less car sales for oktober)? I know this is gambling; They may increase the rebate to $1.000 but the dealership could cut the current $2.500 incentives.

I'll like to hear your thoughts how you will go ("gamble") on this.

BTW: I test drove the 2010 Camry LE and the 2010 Honda Accord LX-P.You can't really compare those 2 vehicles.
The Camry is very smooth, great acceleration and oh my good the breaks; It breaks like a BMW. Very quiet and comfortable. The only pro for the accord is the sport suspension and very noisy car.

Thanks so much for your inputs and advices.

    Hi smallpurpose,

First a quick question 0.0% for 38 months or 60 months and what is the monthly payment.

Looks like you got $3000 Off the MSRP; 2010 Camry LE AT is praised here in Austin/TX for $24.800. On the top of that 21625 with 0.0% down seem to be OK do.

I'm also looking for a 2010 carmy If I could have 0.0% for 60 months after $3.000 on MSRP then I'll get home with a new 2010 Camry.

See another thing is It may be a good deal for know but with the thanksgiving/XMas sales (hopefully that what I'm looking at right know) thinks may change, even more deal or worst: less deal.

    Also where are you located?

    Thanks for sharing the info!

I'm also looking for a 2010 LE - in the S. Cal area.

I've been quoted: 21,343.00 or $300 over the claimed invoice which includes:

    Total Accessories (mats?)................: $ 200.00
    Destination Charge ..........................: $ 750.00
    TDA .........................................: $ 265.00
    Gasoline ....................................: $ 10.20
    Dealer Holdback .............................: $ 438.00
    Whsl. Financial Reserve .....................: $ 219.00

I've read some of these charges are bogus on some forums, and not on others. Is this a good price?

    I'll probably finance.
  • tomkentomken Member Posts: 20
I'm in Austin as well. Plan to buy in Houston (waiting to see if my dad can get the clean air rebate). Austin/RoundRock price are $300-600 higher than Houston. RoundRock matched Houston after I told them what I got. If you don't mind driving to Dallas or Houston to save a few hundreds. I suggest you do so. I'm going to Houston at least once a month so I have no problem.

I am Charlotte, NC. The dealerships here provide finance through SouthEast Toyota Finance http://www.setf.com . So we had 0/36, 0/48 and 1.9/60 options and I took the 0/48 option. Check http://www.buyatoyota.com to see specials across different regions. In any case, to take advantage of the 0%/ APR for 48 months, I had to give back $500 of the dealer cash. I could have done better on my purchase by shopping at other dealers in nearby cities but I was just lazy driving 100 miles and this particular dealership is only 5 mins from my home. So it will be easy for my spouse to get the oil change done while getting a free manicure. Yes the price includes free manicures ;) and lifetime warranty on the car after the 5yr/50K toyota warranty expires.

The best for you is to shop shop atleast online price quotes and see which dealer can provide a better deal with the combination of APR and $$ off of MSRP.

Honda dealers wanted $1500 dealercash back in lieu of 1.9% honda finance for 2009 models and they aren't bargaining on the 2010 models yet. Anyways, I thought camry was a good buy and I am enjoying the bluetooth option in my car.

    Good Luck to you.

    Hi Tomken,

    thanks for the quick response.

Great to hear that It's possible. I mean I don't mind to travel to other cities here in Texas to save some bugs, cost me $40 for gas. Not a big deal.

    Hi Voicemailking,

I'm looking too for the 2010 camry.

My question to you is with the 1.9% financing. Which bank is offering this rate? I guess not toyota financial because currently they have 0.0% for 38 months, 2.9 for 60 months and this offer from TFS is valid until 11/02.

Ive decided to wait for the thanksgiving/xmas time to purchase this car because with less poeple buying cars I guess there could be more incentive (May be, may be not, kind of gambling but let see). My assumption regarding the right timing have been also confirmed by Clark Horward.

Thanks for sharing the rate info with us.

Here in South Florida they are offering either $1000 rebate or 0 financing for 36 or 48 months and 1.9 for 60 months, i believe it is thru Southeast Toyota, but am not 100% sure
  • gooddeal2gooddeal2 Member Posts: 750
I think waiting is not a bad choice. The incentive probably will get bigger soon b/c the 2010 has been out since Feb. I imagine the 2011 is around the corner.
  • corolla_e11corolla_e11 Member Posts: 18
    Greettings,

    thank for sharing the info!

Yes here in Austin/Texas the incentive through Toyota is different as stated in my post earlier.
As I've mentioned earlier I'll be waiting for the next month for better incentive.

I just bought a 2010 Camry CE base model. It has the normal compliment of features that are available on a LE, except for power seats and key-less entry. The out of the door price was $18000, and that is with the college grad rebate and 6.25% tax.
What do you folks think - was this a good deal? I searched for a while, but wasn't able to find something better than this deal. The best part was the dealer - they were very nice and I was honestly satisfied with the service I received. But, I wonder if this was really a good deal???
