Way too much for the extended warranty, highly recommend you look on the extended warranty forum here under the smart shopper board for recommendations.
  • mcdawggmcdawgg Member Posts: 1,722
Take the $2,150 and put it into a CD, savings, etc. Chances are, you will still have most or all of it before you trade/sell the car. You can probably still cancel the warranty and get your money back.

I am ready to buy a 2010 XLE 4 cyl with the 2 value added packs for leather/heated seats and Navigation system, wheel locks and mats. Dealer has had car almost 3 months because they added the following dealer installed options..3 M vinyl protection system, side mouldings, spoiler, window rain guards and mud flaps. The MSRP without the dealer added junk is $28,800.. Dealer wants $26,600 plus $249 for the Doc fee. Do you think I should buy car.?? (I qualify for 60 month 0% financing) :confuse:

It might be worth it in the NY market, but here in the mid-west we had LEs going on lease for $199 with $700 or so down for a 36 month. I never checked the prices of a XLE.

    I got this quote:

Camry XLE V6 Navigation, Smart Key, wheel locks, and Moldings.

    Lease in NJ

$240 a month 12k miles year. With $1664 as Down payment. Im still looking into the gap insurance, they want $400 I usually pay about $200-250.

I was thinking about the 2010 Camry, but no really good deals out there. The dealers don't budge unlike the ones from Honda. However, i just noticed about the 2011 Hyundai Sonata. It looks like the Lexus. A complete newly transformed body!! Nice style. I will wait till next summer when it comes out before making a decision. I think for those of you who have the patience, go ahead and wait. The quality of Hyundai has improved considerably over the past several years while Toyota in recent years, has had quality issues with their Camrys. I think people are going with Toyota's past reputation of stellar quality, but i prefer recent builds.

Has anyone in Houston been able to get a OTD price on a base 2010 Camry for $20,100 or less?
  • steven39steven39 Member Posts: 636
what should i expect to pay for this car??.....2010 camry base model with 6sp manual trans...msrp says 20,100.00...would $18,000.00 be out of the question??
  • mcdawggmcdawgg Member Posts: 1,722
Are you including the $750 destination charge?
  • cc62966cc62966 Member Posts: 30
18K would be a good price - quite frankly achievable! If you are eligible for any rebates - college, financing etc. then you might be able to hit that price or perhaps even lower. Thats how much I paid for a base auto 2 months ago. Do an online search for a good deal. Good luck!

Went to World Toyota in Atlanta, GA dealership, was quoted on a 2010 Camry LE 4 cyl Automatic, MSRP $23,370. This is LE with no extra bells and whistles.

This is what I got: After about 3 hours, Negotiated deal: With a 1K College grad rebate, Price paid: $18,100.08 plus (6% tax +$589 doc +$21 title) with 0.9% 60 months and nothing down for 90 days. No extra bells and whistles added nor needed. Total came to $19,891. The docs needed for college grad are either copy of diploma or a official transcripts. The only thing that bugs me is the $589 doc fee which apparently all GA dealers charge.

if anyone wants more info on salesperson or dealership,, feel free to contact me at harish621 @ gmail dot com
  • steven39steven39 Member Posts: 636
sounds like you got a pretty good deal.even without the college grad rebate you still would have gotten the car for over 4 grand off msrp.
  • jasonbocajasonboca Member Posts: 3
the dealer locate in Delray Beach.
  • steven39steven39 Member Posts: 636
jason, what was your final price on the base camry before TTT?iam looking at a 2010 base camry with the 6sp manual trans.msrp is $20,100.00 down here in hollywood,fla..the best quote iv'e gotten so far on this car was $19,000.00 plus TTT.
i think that this might be on the high side and will continue to search around for the best deal.
  • cc62966cc62966 Member Posts: 30
Did they not offer you any financing rebates? I know World Omni was giving like a $1000 financing deal - only catch, you need to finance at least $7500 and for at least 30 days. I usually prefer to buy out-right, but $1000 rebate was worth paying $33 extra in financing charges and waiting an extra 30 days for the title to arrive.

    Steven,

I bought 2010 Camry LE Auto Transmission with extra value package (alloy wheels) for $19320 + dealer fee ($699) + TTT here in tampa last week. This price was with 0.0 % APR for four years. I had an option to either choose 0% APR or get 1000 rebate from the sale price. I decided to go with 0% APR. Given that i would say your quote for Base with Manual transmission is on the higher side.

    Hi Se79

Can you PM me dealers name and name of salesman. I'm looking for LE for last few days and couldn't get the deal like you.
  • spidey126spidey126 Member Posts: 9
they did not offer any financing rebates that I was aware off, only thing is 0% -4yrs, 0.9% 5yrs
  • mcdawggmcdawgg Member Posts: 1,722
Considering that "Dealer Invoice" is $18,688, it is maybe a litte high, but I think that 1.7% over invoice is not too bad. If you really want a deal, take a look at Carmax - Base manuals for $17,738, including a $750 rebate. Time to take a trip to Laurel, MD.

OK..I bought the same car from Toyota of Dallas, color is Spruce Mica, else everything is same, 4 CYL XLE, with all the packages shown below, and i paid $29,500 including following:

Discounted price+TTL+TAX+extended warrenty(7 years or 84000 mile)+tire warrenty = $29,500, you should get this price too or something close to this, packages are - QG, RT, CF, WL, P4, WT, MG and FE.

    Thanks

How much for extended warranty? I would wait until you either have almost 36k miles or about 3 yrs whichever comes first and shop it on the internet. I am sure you will get it cheaper than your selling dealer wants. If you are getting wheel/tire warranty for $100..fine..otherwise it is very expensive added profit on the back end of the deal ! :D

My Christmas eve gift from Santa Toyota. We showed up at the dealers around 2pm. We called before hand and made sure they were open. They were actually suppose to close at 2pm Christmas eve but since we called, one sales rep stayed. Sticker price on the vehicle was $23,353. I was allowed to combine my college graduate rebate ($1000) and Toyota loyalty member ($500) for a total rebate/discount of $1500. The sales rep at first did not negotiate the price and taken the rebate as our initial "discount" for a drive out price of $23,800. We mentioned that the college grad and toyota loyalty was earned not a true discount on the car. We asked for a driveout price for $20,353 and was denied. We then offered $20,853 and was initially denied by the sales rep. We stormed out of the building and the manager caught up with us and asked what's wrong. We told him our offer at $20,853 drive out was denied and the new offer by the sales rep at $20,300 + TT was not good enough. Manager then agreed to $20,853 drive out.

    Location: Houston- Southwest area
Financed through Toyota for 60 payments 2.9% (36 payments at 0% was offered)

    Guys,

Finally pulled the plug. Today bought an XLE 4 Cylinder with Leather, Navigation and Carpets. OTD is 28100 (includes 2 free oil changes). It's in southern california. Financed $24K using 0% financing for 60 months. Is this a decent deal?

Just drove it home. Really like it. Somehow it's quieter than the LE I had previously driven...

    Garp.

I read a lot of the posts on here (thanks everyone) and attempted to purchase a 2010 Camry SE 4 cyl automatic over the last 2 days to no avail in No California. I used Zag and Cars.com to field my requirements to roughly 5-6 dealers in the Sacramento/Central Valley & one in Walnut Creek. I requested communication via email. Some observed my request, Some didn't & attempted to contact me via phone. 1-2 dealers never even bothered to contact me.

I requested OTD itemized pricing on a Camry SE Classic Silver w/charcoal sport leather package and QD package through Cars.com. A couple of the dealers emailed me back asking me what kind of Camry I wanted. Either Cars.com didn't transfer all my info I wrote in the comments box or the dealers were playing dumb. It appeared after searching, the car I wanted was unavailable. Charcoal leather in a 4 cyl Silver SE seems to be a rarity in No. Cal. I then adjusted my requirements to the charcoal cloth sport interior with QD package and that was impossible to find as well. All that was available in No. Cal was one with QD and upgraded JBL system.

I received 3 different quotes on that model and none of them were close to the price on Zag. I at least wanted to get that price but it was not to be. None of the quotes were OTD pricing and I had to email them again and remind them I wanted an itemized OTD price. I never heard back from any of the dealers I made a counter offer to. The one dealer that was supposed to be the guaranteed low price dealer from Zag.com (Walnut Creek) emailed me back a quote for a completely different Camry than what I requested. I emailed him the specs on what I wanted and the next day I received a phone msg from someone there wanting to talk to me about what kind of car I wanted? A few minutes later, another guy called and emailed from the same dealership saying that they had the car in stock that I wanted & that I was approved for 0% financing and to please call them. It sounded like BS to me as they didnt even know my credit score at this point, plus 3 other dealers said they searched Central Inventory and the car was not available. I ended up emailing them back asking to see the vehicle inquiry report so I could verify it was the right car/options and guess what? I never heard back.

Overall a very frustrating experience trying to buy a Camry this weekend. Toyota should take a lesson from Honda and simplify their option packages. There's to many choices on the configurations. I either ended up not getting what I wanted (leather) or something I didn't (JBL radio). Lastly, most (not all) of the dealers I interacted with had trouble giving me the info I requested on the first try or were just plain inept. To bad for them as I ended up purchasing an Accord EX-L from Carmichael Honda. Not my first choice in a car but I lost patience with the Toyota dealers. Good Luck out there everyone.

Got a quote from a local dealer in TX for ( do not compare to fitzmall, nobody can beat their price)
MSRP $27,682+TTL and your internet price will be :
    $24,207+TTL
    -$500(loyalty)rebate
your sale price $23,707+TTL total drive out will be $25,637
    The options install are:
QD, CF, WL, L2, L6, and D2 (Decor upgrade?).

    Fair price?

    TIA

Don't know what L2, L6 or D2 are??? What are those?
  • lonestar4lonestar4 Member Posts: 11
Where in Texas did you get that quote? I'm in Houston and still researching for the same car SE.
    Thanks,
  • boeayaboeaya Member Posts: 14
    L2 leather package upgrade
    S6 is premium security system
D2 decor upgrade (I have no idea)

I have search enough on camry and look at the options/packages and I have learned all of those codes.

I just bought a 2010 Camry SE I4 Auto on the day after Christmas in Houston, TX. They are very hard to work with. Even harder since I'm using the $3000 Texas clean air rebate. I was there for like 4 hours and saw them selling more than 10 vehicles already, so I don't think they care much since it's busy month for them. Since my rebate will expired in less than 4 weeks, I will be moving in the next few weeks so I wont be in town, so not much time for me to bargain with price.

SE I4 Auto, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Dark Charcoal fabric
Option: SE Extra Value Package #1 (basically moonroof and spoiler)
Other junks I don't want but no choice: Vehicle Shield Package, Trunk Organizer

This is closest to what I wanted. Most SE is either V6 or got the Owner Reward Package (basically bluetooth phone connection and iPod, $1000 extra). Unless I'm willing to take the ugly Silver color (I don't know why, but Camry silver is ugly, look more gray to me), not much choice for me.

MSRP: $25,xxx (forgot the exact number)
They have some stupid BS $500 fee, so the $500 royal rebate canceled each other out. You can also use 0% APR for 36 months.
Final price+TTL: $23,322.12 (I wrote the check, the rebate is under my dad's name, he's retired and not qualify for the 0% APR).

Not a good price I know, but not much time left for me. I walked out last month and they didn't call me back. I tried other dealers and they are pretty much the same. My guess is in the last few months lots of businesses for them since lots of people use CARS and Clean Air rebates. Just not a good time to shop especially in Houston.
  • crodycrody Member Posts: 6
A couple of people mentioned Toyota Royalty Rebate. Is this offered by Toyota? How did you get it? Thanks.
  • lulu21lulu21 Member Posts: 4
This is the best price I got offered today with 0% for 60 months. It's in piercy Toyota in milpitas,ca. Any one else got a better deal in northern california? Plz let me know asap. Thanks. Plz email to: lulu168 at gmail dot com
  • crodycrody Member Posts: 6
Oops, it should be Toyota Loyalty Rebate.
  • boeayaboeaya Member Posts: 14
so is the out the door price or drive out price that you have paid is $23,322.12 ($3,000 Clean air rebate and $500 toyota loyalty rebate already include)?
  • tomkentomken Member Posts: 20
    drive out price, all included
  • tomkentomken Member Posts: 20
I typed royal instead of loyal, lol I think you'll qualify if you owned a Toyota. Not really happy with the price after $3000 rebate, thought it can be cheaper, but still cheaper if I just trade in the '95 Camry LE (worth less than $1000). I'm just really happy driving the new Camry. Same for buying anything, after you paid the price and never look back.
  • crodycrody Member Posts: 6
I was wondering if $500 was a rebate from Toyota or it was just a discount from the individual dealership. Did you need to show the dealership the title or the registration of a Toyota you have already own to get the rebate? Thanks.

I am looking for an 05/06, 4 cyl certified pre-owned Camry with side airbags. Also, if possible, stability control. I understand that side airbags were an available option however have come up with none after quite some time. Several cars have been advertised online stating side airbags which turned out to be false. Any suggestions appreciated. SoCal
