I want to buy a 05 camry. Is it better to buy it now or wait till September?
I heard that Sep. is the best time to buy the 'old' models. Anybody has that experience? I don't know if the $1000 rebate will last till then.

    Thanks!

Offerred this to the dealer for 05 Camry LE - standard features..no add ons

Base price excluding the 540 dealer fees, taxes, registration etc = 17,100

Is this a good price? Need feedback..Still have not finalized anything..Thing thats bothering me is that the salesperson accepted without 'the let me ask my manager' stunt.

    Thanks in advance.

    Does it have auto transmission?
  • zdr81zdr81 Member Posts: 14
You may want to ask how much documentation fee is and get an idea of all the fees. that's probably why the salesman accepted so quickly - because he's got a whole bag of fees. The way I asked my dealer was that I will not pay a cent more than xxxxx, that it should be inclusive of ALL their fees such as documentation fee, etc. but TTL is usually separate.

I know we have one week left of July. I didn't want to send an e-mail for a price quote too soon. I thought by end of this week they may be trying to make their sales quotas and if I sent for one today it may be too soon.
    Thanks,,,,,,,,Ken

They also wanted $19,144.47 OTD with side airbags
    Thanks.........Ken
PS:This is just a first quote and was under a different e-mail.

If anyone have a rough idea how much difference will be buying 05 model now and in September (probably when 06/07 model comes), please let me know. And if anyone had experience in buying 05 model in Utah, I will appreciate your info. Thanks a lot, friends!

I was interested in one XLE near charlotte. One dealer was 24.8K msrp for 21.8K and another was 23K even MSRP and it was offered at 21.3K at another dealer. Went with the LE version

    1500 rebate
  • chevymalibuchevymalibu Member Posts: 129
just bought one thursday at Harrelson in RocK Hill, SC. MSRP was 20.8 and got for 16.9K plus taxes (300 bucks in SC, tag, etc). Lake Norman quoted me 17.8K for the same car but said they'd come down to get my business. Hope this helps.

Does this sound like a good quote. I was thinking I could do better even with all the dealer fees included.

    What do you all think?
  • jimr21713jimr21713 Member Posts: 8
The lowest I could get a Maryland dealer was $18,500 for a camry LE with AT, side airbags and mats/cargo net. That car had an MSRP of $21,550 and both prices include a freight charge of $540. It did not include state tax (5%) and license fee of $33. Maryland has no cash rebate at this time. The SE United States including North and South Carolina has a $1500 rebate in effect until August 1, 2005. So about $17,000 would be an equilavent (and a good) deal in the carolinas. I'm waiting to see what happens after August 1. Depending on how many camry's they have left will determine if Maryland will give a rebate for the month of August. The dealers probably already know but I can't get any of them to come clean. If Maryland continues to have no rebate and the SE continues to have $1500, I just might travel down to NC to save $1500.

We came down to a dealership tonight. Right after we got there, we told the salesman that we want to buy a Camry LE tonight if price and color are right. He showed us the car and my husband also test drove it. It was our fault that we did not look at the back of the car carefully. That car actually did not have a LE label in the back. We almost signed an agreement for $16,950 until I realized that the MSRP was different from the other LE car we looked.

The salesman told us that Camry Standard is also called LE. Is this true or not?

We got another offer from a different dealership for $17,000 for a Camry LE. Is this a good offer or not? They initially agreed $16,900 but backed out their offer after they noticed that we were serious buyer. I don't care about $100 that much, but feels bad that we have to pay higher than they initially offered us. Is there any strategy that we can use? Thanks for the suggestions!

There are two different models of the Camry that you're talking about. The LE is a different model than the standard. There is about $1,000 difference in the pricing between the two.

    This is regarding message 2069.

    HI, Anotherday,

Is it possible for you to send me a copy of your sales contract (of course with your peronsal info removed?) One dealer told me your price is impossible and he can beat that price by 100 if I have the sales contract showing that price. I am looking to buy a Camry LE AT this week. I'd appreciate your help if you do. I am in southern Cal as well.

NC is not cheaper, I live in Raleigh and look for a camry LE, AT, side airbag this week. The best quote is $18,900 OTD including 3 % NC tax, $ 398 doc fee, $ 62 tag afer $ 1,500 rebate. Please let me know if someone has better price in RTP area, it is my first time to buy one. Thanks

I live in Oklahoma, about 85 miles from Tulsa, and 30 miles from a Toyota dealer in Joplin, MO and 50-75 miles from two dealers in Kansas. Have been looking to possibly buy an LE with side curtain air bags and 5 pc carpet set and upgraded radio (AMFM wcassette/CD)-pretty minimal options. No firm prices from OK dealers-no cars in Oklahoma with color desired-Kansas dealer quoted $19,925 (1st and only telephone call) for desired color in stock, Missouri dealer quoted same car for $19,499 OTD (also telephone call (although they have serviced old Camry for 16 yrs.)-they would have had to get it from that Kansas dealer. No trade-in of old car to either dealer. Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri until 8-1-05 has incentive on Camry of $1250. for Oklahoma and $750 in both Kansas and Missouri in lieu of special finance %.. Will probably wait now until next month to see if incentive is extended or modified. It seems by reading other posts in this forum, that prices are high here compared to some other states. Camry's seem to be bringing a high selling price vs MSRP even with incentives considered. May just have to look at Honda Accord instead.

Dealer asking $23,171 (plus tax 6.5% and title $315 for a total out the door at $24,992) for XLE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5A) with HV XLE Premium Plus Package (ie., leather, moonroof, al. wheels), GY Side and Curtain Airbags, HD Heated Front Seats, and Carpet/Cargo Mat Set.

Think it is a fair deal for Internet Price? Any additional negotiations possible?

Want to buy a 2005 Camry LE with AT and side airbags in around one month. Could anyone tell me the lowest Outdoor price in Central Ohio, which dealer? In addition, since Camry 2006 is coming, Is it good to buy camry now, or just wait for another month?. Thanks. First time new car buyer, appreciate your help.

In addition, just got info about used Buick 2005 with 25-30K miles. Dealer told me the price is 12,800. Is it a good choice? Why such new used car be sold again? Thanks for your advice.
  • guitarguitar Member Posts: 32
The salesman is clearly trying to cheat you. Any salesman would know that the Standard and LE are 2 different models.

It would be useful to check out the Toyota brochures carefully.
  • fredvhfredvh Member Posts: 857
I would say that it is a very fair price. It is approx. $300 over invoice. I assume the price INCLUDES the rebate?
  • joecarnutjoecarnut Member Posts: 215
I have also got some quotes as low as 17900.00.
Also what can I do to verify that these quotes are legitimate.
Would I need to get a stock# or Vin# from them or other#?
Thanks for any help as we are trying to buy by this weekend.
Also I'm in the Los Angels County area.

Thanks fredvh. The dealer said it is $12 below invoice. Yes, the price includes the $700 rebate.

I am trying to negotiate the purchase of a 2005 Camry SE; having a heck of a time getting the first choice dealership to respond to emails. Have been on the lot twice, test driven LE and SE models. Been to another lot, didn't like their tactic of calling me on Saturday with a "today only" deal. Needs are basic: I like the SE because of the different look...black grill, smoke headlight lenses, sportier looking interior (doesn't quite match up with the Altima interior, though). I like that the SE comes standard with the sunroof. I would like to add leather, but dealer so far has stalled at $900 to add it, although the salesman "thought" he "might" be able to get it for $600. Any thoughts or ideas? Any knowledge of who to check with for after market interior (dealer says they don't get the after market leather from Toyota, they use a local supplier/vendor). I am in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area of Florida. Is $600 a pipe dream and $900 more realistic? Would appreciate any feedback. Also, what are chances of getting the $499 dealer fee credited?
  • toyotakentoyotaken Member Posts: 897
I don't know how much it is in your area, but both through our custom shop with the dealer group and with every other outside vendor for the leather, it runs about $1000 for a 4-door sedan. Most reputable leather installers use the templates from the factory seats for the replacement seat covers, so should be good quality as long as the installers do a good job.

So to boil things down, $900 seems like a pretty good deal on leather and as for the dealer fee, most will not work with you on that, but there's nothing to lose by asking.

    Good luck!

Anyone have recent experience how long to get rebate.

Been about 6 weeks since bought 05 Camry v6 SE fully loaded at invoice but was clear would also get the $1000 rebate. But they had no idea how long would take.

Not sure if I should be concerned yet. VERY happy with the car.

    Thanks

Check your paperwork to see if it was applied toward the purchase already. That is how it is normally handled. In over 10 years of working with Toyota's, I've only had one instance where the customer chose to have the rebate mailed to them instead.

if anybody has gotten a nice deal recently on an xle v6 in the ny area, please be kind enough to let me know which dealer you did business with and what price you paid. i am looking to purchase one asap......thanks.
  • guitarguitar Member Posts: 32
Can I check with forummers here - as a standard practice when you deal with the Internet Dept at the dealership, do you insist on seeing the invoice for the car? Are they willing to show you? Or do you have to threaten to walk out?
  • daveinphoenixdaveinphoenix Member Posts: 5
No the $1000 rebate was not applied to the price, I specifically was assured it would be sent to me directy. I did not use their financing offer but instead elected the rebate to be sent to me.

V6 XLE w/o nav $25,222 before tax and I did get Lo Jack, Theft Guard, GAP,Service Contact all the stuff they pushed (I know)...but a few hundreds more isn't that big of a deal. Total total including all that, taxes (2124), licenses, docs etc was $30,719.50

Thanks for the information, Ken. I have now contacted a third dealership, a bit farther from home. That car has not even hit the lot yet, is due to be delivered within a week.

    Hi, there,

I am going to buy a Camry LE auto 4 cyl base model in Atlanta, the best I can get is 17,000 before TTL.

I am also curious about the $1500 rebate after August 1.

Anyone would like to share experience in Atlanta? Thank you!

2002 Toyota Camry LE with 19,000 miles on it. No upgrades at all just the standard power, cd player, tilt wheel and cruise control. I talked them down to 14,000 before tax, tag, and title. What do you guys think? Seems to be in great shape. It is from a dealership so it comes Toyota Certified, with four brand new tires, new brakes, and one year added to the powertrain warranty

Is the Camry V6 XLE (non Nav) generally going for about invoice?

    Thanks.
  • meppmepp Member Posts: 5
I bought a 2005 Camry XLE V6, non NAV, but with stability control/side airbags for $600 below invoice two weeks ago. The total price was around $26,200 out the door in Chicago, which includes a high city tax.
  • meppmepp Member Posts: 5
I should also add that the $600 below invoice was in addition to the $700 rebate that is being offered in this area.

    Hey guys,

These forums were a great help last year when I was researching a car for my parents. Helped them get a great deal.So now I'm doing it again, for my brother this time.

He's looking for a Camry LE base, and he's in Maryland. I will probably be going in with him to handle the negotiations and all since I have experience with that stuff. In any case, what is a good price/driveout price?

I've been reading the last few pages of messages, and I hear things ranging from $16900 to $17900, so i've been getting just a little bit confused. Can someone throw out some numbers for me?
