I am buying LE 2005 model with 3800 miles on it from dealer in detroit area. The car has been used as demo car. OTD price is 20734 including 6% tax, registration etc. Car invoice is 19069.
As I am going for 3.9 APR (5 years), no rebates will be available.
Is a good price?
How many cylinders, accessories, etc. Also what part of the grand ole USA are you in as you could compare the price to a "new" 2005 LE with the current rebate if any apply.

I have talked to a few dealers today and they are all telling me that the current lease deals on the 2005 Civics and 2005 Camry's are only going to get worse after the new deals come out in September. The also told me that there will be no good lease deals on the 2006 Camry's until months down the road. In your opinion, is this true?? I can't tell if it is just dealer talk or is legit, someone please help me out here!!
Thanks in advance
Camry LE 2005 - V4

Also I am from Farmington Hills, (Suburb of Detroit), Michigan
this board has been very helpful to me. You can fill in to what accessories cost etc.
Hopefully someone will chime in from your area and share what they paid.
Did you buy a 4 Cyl Automatic or V6 Auto?
Can you provide the dealer name and address? I live in NJ and I too am in the market for 2005 camry le.
Did the dealer have many 05 camry LE left?
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.
Pat
I have a chance to buy a 1994 Toyota 4cyl. wagon and would appreicate all input.

Can you tell me how much OTD you paid? Does the car have any options?
Thanks.
As far as Camry LE goes. You should be able to get below 20K drive out, but after lot of trips to those dealers.
Damn!!!!!!!!! I am waiting for Wal-Mart to start selling Cars.
Here is the word-
Honda dealers - American culture to treat customers.
Toyota dealers - Foreign culture to treat customers.
First, I want to know if any other region (not mentioned above) have the SE with GY option, please let me know.
Second, is there anyway I can ask the local dealer to transport the vehilce from out of state dealder? I am also in contact with Toyota Customer Service on this and I will see how they respond with this situation.
Third, I might fly, buy, and bring the car back. Since I live in chicago, I might do it in East Coast (ex: MD, VA, GA,..), but it seems to be an hassle (drive a brand new car over 800-1000miles with less than 55-60mile speed for 10-12 hours).
Fourth, I might use a flatbed trailer(truck) to ship the car from outside of dealer. Since I've never done this before, I am worried about transit time, possible damage, some unknown risk/hassle, and, of course, the transit expense (guess, about $800).
I don't know what to do. Please help me/advise me to resolve the situation.
(You might ask why only SE I4 with GY?): I originally thought LE I4 (for gas reason, I want to trade my 00 LE V6 into I4), but after two test drives, found their poor braking (slide/mushy...due to rear drum?) and loosened suspension. Then, I drove SE. The brake is as nice as mine (00 LE V6..rear disc) and it has tighter handling, not as bumpy as I expected (I couldn't find the difference between LE and SE). That's why I really want to get SE I4 with GY (I think it is a must in all trim..., though I prefer to add VSC... but it is totally impossible in any 4cylinder trim).
I am thinking about getting a 2005/2006 LE with dealer installed leather. I told the dealer I was not interested in dealer installed leather initially, based on horror stories I have heard. However, he stated that Toyota has "approved" aftermarket installers that receive the patterns direct from Toyota. He then showed me a 4Runner they had on the floor that was an aftermarket leather job. I have to admit, I was impressed. I have a 4runner of the same design class with factory leather, and the two looked very similar.
My question is, does anyone have any input about aftermarket/dealer installed leather on the Camry? All I have heard in the past is "Dont do it, it looks junky, it fell apart, etc". However, this guy said if they do it, Toyota backs it for the warranty, etc......so I am just curious.
Thanks,
James
I can't comment specifically on Camrys, but I had my Hyundai dealer install aftermarket leather in my '03 Sonata shortly after purchase. It fits like a glove, has worn like iron, is crack-free, and is also still cushy-supple. (nor have I done anything special in its care) The tailoring isn't an exact match for Hyundai's factory leather in the Sonata, but it's close enough that only the terminally anal would notice.
Is this a good price?
Where can I get a tire kit with a doughnut or full size tire?
Do they still offer the $2,500.00 tax deduction in Itemized expenses for 2005?

Also I am looking for a 06 Camry LE with side air bag option but couldn't find any with 4 dealers around me. Why is it so hard to find a toyota car with side airbag option(both camry and corolla)?
I put a deposit for SE (4cylinder) with GY option. They are expected to be delivered by the end of Oct. But, only one dealer promised this, even if I still doubt. Or, you can check the other location who had that option available (for possible dealer trade). Now, I just hope $500 rebate will at leat keep or increase the amount for the following month.
thanks
Will go with the 2.9% financing, so there's no $500 rebate.
Dealer's best offer is $20334 after 1 hour haggling........:(
What do you guys think about it? probably will buy tomorrow.
made my transaction go very smoothly. This is the second vehicle we bought
from Red McCombs and we have been very satisfied with them both times.
After I got the price from Red McCombs, I contacted other dealers in
town to make sure I got the best deal. They all said there is no way I
could get the Camry at that price and to watch out for a "bait and
switch" or additional fees/costs at the end. Nothing like that happened. I
got exactly what I was promised.
I was very happy with the price, especially considering the dealerships
with the "one simple price" approach were selling 2005 Camry LE's with
almost 30k miles for 18995!
We bought a silver 05 LE with floor mats and alarm in the end of August at Red Mccombs. We paid $19,300 OTD. We negotiated on the OTD price directly. The MSRP is about $21,000, if I remember correctly .
We are planning to get another 06 LE at Red Mccombs now. If you can give us some info about the MSRP of your 06 LE, that will simplify our negotiation procedure greatly. By the way, did you see lots of 06 LE in the lot? When we were there to buy the 05 LE, choice of color were very limited. Thanks.!
I dealt with the Internet Department and I would recommend going through them rather then just showing up on the lot.
Good luck!
Quoted me on a Camry XLE for $100 over invoice less $750 "rebate". My first impression on this was Invoice + $100 + tax, fees, and license LESS $750 rebate.
Actual Amount paid:
Invoice + $100 + $750 + Tax/License Fees - $750.
Translation:
The finance manager said they have the $750 rebate. But they have to add it to the original price first before deducting it after tax/license.
As a result, there really is no discount/rebate. It's like paying the orig Price + Rebate amount less Rebate Amount. That MEANS NO REBATE.
The manager told me they do that with all the customers. This means they can also do this to you.
So STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. If you ever consider buying here, get a quote or the "out the door price" in writing first. Better yet, check with other dealers first. I learned a very difficult lesson with this dealership..
Also, the finance manager to sell me a 5year extended warranty. Does anyone ever needed an extended warranty on a Toyota? I don't get it. The name itself is the guarantee that the car will last a long time.
I brought the matter to the attention of the Toyota 101 Dealership manager (thru toyota101.com) and he took care of me right away:
He specifically mentioned that Customer Satisfaction was their number one goal so he sent me a check for $750 + sales tax calculated during purchase.
In the end, the gave me the best deal.
Thanks.
