    Hi,

I am buying LE 2005 model with 3800 miles on it from dealer in detroit area. The car has been used as demo car. OTD price is 20734 including 6% tax, registration etc. Car invoice is 19069.

As I am going for 3.9 APR (5 years), no rebates will be available.

    Is a good price?

I worked directly with the internet sales manager at Grossinger Toyota. He first made me another offer (which was still very good), which I shopped around with other Toyota dealers. Then I presented him with a lower offer that someone else had made me, and he matched it.

I think you're going to need to give the board a little more info.
How many cylinders, accessories, etc. Also what part of the grand ole USA are you in as you could compare the price to a "new" 2005 LE with the current rebate if any apply.

    Everyone,

I have talked to a few dealers today and they are all telling me that the current lease deals on the 2005 Civics and 2005 Camry's are only going to get worse after the new deals come out in September. The also told me that there will be no good lease deals on the 2006 Camry's until months down the road. In your opinion, is this true?? I can't tell if it is just dealer talk or is legit, someone please help me out here!!

    Thanks in advance

Can you share some information about the buying experience and dealer information? Thanks.

This is a link to Edwards pricing info. You really need to go to new cars and fill in your zip code for available incentives/rebates and pricing in your area. Edmunds Camry Price Link
this board has been very helpful to me. You can fill in to what accessories cost etc.
Hopefully someone will chime in from your area and share what they paid.

Not sure about the lease's but the 2006 CAmry will be short lived, the 2007 Camry will be out Jan or Feb 2006 as a new body style, you may want to wait for the new style, as it will last for 5 years. I really dont think their will be any 2006 way down the road. P. S. the 2007's look real nice, I personally am waiting for the 2007's

    Pat21,

Can you tell me how much OTD you paid? Does the car have any options?

    Thanks.
  • uhaniluhanil Member Posts: 6
Don't worry man,,,,,,,,,,,,! That is the way all these dealers behave. Especially Sterling McCall is the Big Boss of all of the dealers in Houston. Want pleasure experience. Try Champion Toyota.

As far as Camry LE goes. You should be able to get below 20K drive out, but after lot of trips to those dealers.

Damn!!!!!!!!! I am waiting for Wal-Mart to start selling Cars.

    Here is the word-
Honda dealers - American culture to treat customers. :)
Toyota dealers - Foreign culture to treat customers. :(

On Boston Globe I saw that Camry was advertised for $14K by Boch and another dealer. Has anyone actually bought at this price? What is the configuration?

I am currently looking for 06 SE (I4) with side/curtain airbag (GY). The option is not available in my region (chicago...IL, WI, MN, IN). Based on my own search, the vehicles with this option are available in Southeast (GA, FL...) and Atlantic (MD, VA, etc) region, but very low availabilty. I searched So Cal, MI, OH, TX..but no success.

First, I want to know if any other region (not mentioned above) have the SE with GY option, please let me know.

Second, is there anyway I can ask the local dealer to transport the vehilce from out of state dealder? I am also in contact with Toyota Customer Service on this and I will see how they respond with this situation.

Third, I might fly, buy, and bring the car back. Since I live in chicago, I might do it in East Coast (ex: MD, VA, GA,..), but it seems to be an hassle (drive a brand new car over 800-1000miles with less than 55-60mile speed for 10-12 hours).

Fourth, I might use a flatbed trailer(truck) to ship the car from outside of dealer. Since I've never done this before, I am worried about transit time, possible damage, some unknown risk/hassle, and, of course, the transit expense (guess, about $800).

I don't know what to do. Please help me/advise me to resolve the situation.

(You might ask why only SE I4 with GY?): I originally thought LE I4 (for gas reason, I want to trade my 00 LE V6 into I4), but after two test drives, found their poor braking (slide/mushy...due to rear drum?) and loosened suspension. Then, I drove SE. The brake is as nice as mine (00 LE V6..rear disc) and it has tighter handling, not as bumpy as I expected (I couldn't find the difference between LE and SE). That's why I really want to get SE I4 with GY (I think it is a must in all trim..., though I prefer to add VSC... but it is totally impossible in any 4cylinder trim).

They did not hand over the vehicle after I had signed the papers. The sales manager was afraid I would give him a bad survey because I was questioning some of their sales "tactics". I contacted Toyota and they forwarded it to the dealership who said they will sell me the car after all. As you might have guessed, I did not go back. What a bunch of baloney and no buyer should go through this.
  • terrygutterrygut Member Posts: 7
Sorry about late response. It is manual 2005 STD. Actually I payed not much - 13,1 K plus tax, registration and doc fee, total around 14,1 K. I was lucky to buy a car used by large dealership as a "carrot" in their advertisment. Regular price for such car is around 15 K, while it's possible to catch one for around 14 K - look in Saturday newspapers.

I will move to Palo Alto next month, I am looking for a 2005 or 2006 Camry LE with auto transmission. any suggestions? which dealer I should contact with? how much I will pay for it, I mean the OTD price. THX for sharing your information.

    Howdy,
I am thinking about getting a 2005/2006 LE with dealer installed leather. I told the dealer I was not interested in dealer installed leather initially, based on horror stories I have heard. However, he stated that Toyota has "approved" aftermarket installers that receive the patterns direct from Toyota. He then showed me a 4Runner they had on the floor that was an aftermarket leather job. I have to admit, I was impressed. I have a 4runner of the same design class with factory leather, and the two looked very similar.

My question is, does anyone have any input about aftermarket/dealer installed leather on the Camry? All I have heard in the past is "Dont do it, it looks junky, it fell apart, etc". However, this guy said if they do it, Toyota backs it for the warranty, etc......so I am just curious.

    Thanks,
    James

"...does anyone have any input about aftermarket/dealer installed leather on the Camry? All I have heard in the past is "Dont do it, it looks junky, it fell apart, etc"...

I can't comment specifically on Camrys, but I had my Hyundai dealer install aftermarket leather in my '03 Sonata shortly after purchase. It fits like a glove, has worn like iron, is crack-free, and is also still cushy-supple. (nor have I done anything special in its care) The tailoring isn't an exact match for Hyundai's factory leather in the Sonata, but it's close enough that only the terminally anal would notice.

I received a quote of $25,682 for a Hybrid with MSPR of $30,655 (includes destination)
    Is this a good price?
Where can I get a tire kit with a doughnut or full size tire?
Do they still offer the $2,500.00 tax deduction in Itemized expenses for 2005?

I just bought a 2005 Camry 4cyl, le w/ side curtain airbags. I had dealer installed leather added and I was very pleased. For more information you can go to their website, www.classicsofttrim.com. The seats look like they were factory leather and factory have leather smell. Also includes the door panels with leather. The cost was about 900.00 and was worth every penny. Looks every bit as good as the quality of the leather I have in my Chevy Suburban from the factory.

Toyota Camry has $500 rebate now valid until 10/3. Do you think they will increase it after that date?If 07 is going to be launched in coming spring I believe they should clear up all 06 stock. Isn't it?

Also I am looking for a 06 Camry LE with side air bag option but couldn't find any with 4 dealers around me. Why is it so hard to find a toyota car with side airbag option(both camry and corolla)?
  • kthankthan Member Posts: 30
I don't know why they are so selective to put important safety options. Based on the Sienna case, which they put side/curtain airbag all standard, I guess 07 camry will have side/curtain airbag as standard (at least LE, SE, and XLE).

I put a deposit for SE (4cylinder) with GY option. They are expected to be delivered by the end of Oct. But, only one dealer promised this, even if I still doubt. Or, you can check the other location who had that option available (for possible dealer trade). Now, I just hope $500 rebate will at leat keep or increase the amount for the following month.
  • wang_gengwang_geng Member Posts: 4
$19,813 - $500 rebate= $19,313 before fees/taxes for 2006 Camry LE Automatic w/ side and curtain airbags + floor mat+cargo net. Dealer claimed $19,813 was the invoice, which would be a few hundred higher than Edmunds number. I am sure this is not the best price, just hope not too bad.

what are people paying for new 2005 camry auto standard before tax and title fees?
  • taw2896taw2896 Member Posts: 3
I just bought a 2006 LE Camry Automatic 4cyl auto with side curtain airbag option and floor mats. I paid 18824 + ttl. Hope that helps. OTD price was 20230.
  • godeacsgodeacs Member Posts: 481
Considering that the TMV is $20,330 or so, I 'd say you got a great deal! Wonder how they'd let a Camry go so cheap, to be honest. Where are you? Here in TX I can't even get a used 2005 used Camry w/11000miles for under $19K! Hard to even find 2006 Camrys on the lots and they are not going cheap.
  • svec7186svec7186 Member Posts: 56
what was the dealership name and state that sold you a new 2006 LE Camry Automatic 4cyl auto with side curtain airbag option and floor mats for 18824 + tax and title?

    thanks
  • wkf2000wkf2000 Member Posts: 2
Am looking for a LE with curtain airbags. The only one on the lot with curtains is priced at $22186 w/ spoiler.
Will go with the 2.9% financing, so there's no $500 rebate.
Dealer's best offer is $20334 after 1 hour haggling........:(

What do you guys think about it? probably will buy tomorrow.

I bought my Camry at Red McCombs Toyota in San Antonio. My salesman was very upfront, gave me a great price from the start and
made my transaction go very smoothly. This is the second vehicle we bought
from Red McCombs and we have been very satisfied with them both times.

After I got the price from Red McCombs, I contacted other dealers in
town to make sure I got the best deal. They all said there is no way I
could get the Camry at that price and to watch out for a "bait and
switch" or additional fees/costs at the end. Nothing like that happened. I
got exactly what I was promised.

I was very happy with the price, especially considering the dealerships
with the "one simple price" approach were selling 2005 Camry LE's with
    almost 30k miles for 18995!
  • godeacsgodeacs Member Posts: 481
Thanks for the info! Hadn't been to Red yet but will now. Universal had nothing on the lot and said even if they did, they couldn't get under $20K. Same with San Marcos Toyota and Alamo. Wonder how Red does it - unless it was the end of the month, etc.
  • lelandllelandl Member Posts: 11
Hi, taw2896, what is the MSRP of your 06 LE?

We bought a silver 05 LE with floor mats and alarm in the end of August at Red Mccombs. We paid $19,300 OTD. We negotiated on the OTD price directly. The MSRP is about $21,000, if I remember correctly .

We are planning to get another 06 LE at Red Mccombs now. If you can give us some info about the MSRP of your 06 LE, that will simplify our negotiation procedure greatly. By the way, did you see lots of 06 LE in the lot? When we were there to buy the 05 LE, choice of color were very limited. Thanks.!
  • taw2896taw2896 Member Posts: 3
The MSRP was about 20,700. There were quite a few 06's on the lot. However, the vehicle I got was ordered (because I wanted the side air bags) and took 3 or 4 days to get in.

I dealt with the Internet Department and I would recommend going through them rather then just showing up on the lot.

    Good luck!

The salesmen at Toyota 101 in Redwood City are Magicians:
Quoted me on a Camry XLE for $100 over invoice less $750 "rebate". My first impression on this was Invoice + $100 + tax, fees, and license LESS $750 rebate.

    Actual Amount paid:
    Invoice + $100 + $750 + Tax/License Fees - $750.

    Translation:
The finance manager said they have the $750 rebate. But they have to add it to the original price first before deducting it after tax/license.

As a result, there really is no discount/rebate. It's like paying the orig Price + Rebate amount less Rebate Amount. That MEANS NO REBATE.

The manager told me they do that with all the customers. This means they can also do this to you.

So STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. If you ever consider buying here, get a quote or the "out the door price" in writing first. Better yet, check with other dealers first. I learned a very difficult lesson with this dealership..

Also, the finance manager to sell me a 5year extended warranty. Does anyone ever needed an extended warranty on a Toyota? I don't get it. The name itself is the guarantee that the car will last a long time.
  • jdangjdang Member Posts: 6
At first I wanted to buy a Honda SE but it's too expensive. They want to sale the car for 22,100 drive out in Houston. Finally, I just bought my 2006 LE 4 cyl Camry today for 19,800 drive out. Do you think it's a good deal?
  • godeacsgodeacs Member Posts: 481
Well, I've been offered a 2006 LE with side airbags for $20,990 OTD so your deal seems better (though have not had a chance to discuss w/dealer yet). Best I could do on an Accord was $20,750 OTD0 for a 2005 LX. Camry deal def better even now. What color did you get?
  • jdangjdang Member Posts: 6
I have Mineral Green Opalescent with Taupe. If you live in Houston, You can try Champion Toyota. The other dealers want to sell 06 LE AT for me at 20,300 ( drive out).
  • guweb2guweb2 Member Posts: 2
Update as of today, about a week after purchase:

I brought the matter to the attention of the Toyota 101 Dealership manager (thru toyota101.com) and he took care of me right away:

He specifically mentioned that Customer Satisfaction was their number one goal so he sent me a check for $750 + sales tax calculated during purchase.

In the end, the gave me the best deal.

    Thanks.

I'm wondering if the GU package is necessary or would the GY be sufficient? Is the Camry safe without either? Any thoughts out there?
  • phurdnetphurdnet Member Posts: 3
I'm thinking of buying an '06 LE- not sure about GU or GY package and wondering about a fair price to walk ut the door. Any thoughts?

I got an out of door quote from Longo Toyota in So. California for Camry LE 4 cyl auto. It is $18,929 out of door after $750 rebate.
  • qry1qry1 Member Posts: 2
I take it that $18929 is grand total price which includes taxes also.

According to the web page info, rebate/incentive for Camry is $500. Did it went up?
  • godeacsgodeacs Member Posts: 481
Boy, that price seems awful good for a 2006! Dealer will go out of business with too many deals like that. Where are you getting a $750 rebate from? Edmunds shows a $1000 rebate thru 31 Oct. What is the price BEFORE TT&L?
  • torr310torr310 Member Posts: 41
    Options include:

    CA................Partial Zero Emissions
    CF................Carpet/Cargo Mat Set

    MSRP...............$21,101
    Your Price.........$18,497

    Rebate..............$750 ends oct30th-05
