if so, i think you're buying the WRONG cd changer... the panasonic models i saw at the crutchfield site all require panasonic receivers--- don't you want to keep the JBL toyota radio???
if so, go back to the crutchfield website, then get to the car audio changers section and choose CD-CHANGERS- UNIVERSAL ADD-ON-- there are 12 choices of changers, none of which are panasonic....
out of those 12, you will see that the remotes are either wired or wireless.... that's how you control the changer...
personally, i'd choose a wireless remote model--- i had good success with the pioneer fm-1287 model-- a 12 disc... there's a 6 disc pioneer also that's wireless...
let me know if this all makes sense...
I don't want to upgrade the system with the JBL 3-in-1 with in dash 6 CD changer. The existing system is nice and it is already in the car.
Anyway, I put my car info on Crutchfield website (click on What fits my car?) and they showed me two Panasonic CD changers (6-CD and 8-CD) plus several choices of the 6x9 speakers. The CD changers are add-on and they suggested the adaptor for connection. And both Toyota dealer and Crutchfield have no further info on the changer.
How is your system lay out? JBL (single disc)? Or a whole new aftermarket system?
i just added the aftermarket pioneer cd changer-- i don't think it needed any adapter... i didn't install it myself tho...
the installer did the work... just tune the station to some low number on the FM dial-- 88.9 or something...and you're ready to listen...
i inputted 2003 camry in the crutchfield site-- it showed NO cd changers compatible with the 2003 JBL ... the only panasonic changers are described as needing panasonic receivers... maybe i'm missing something
use the wireless remote to change tracks or cd's... simple.
BTW, are the speakers also made by JBL? I looked up the rear speakers and couldn't see any JBL wording, not even on the speaker grills, except the JBL word on the receiver.

masspector - I didn't do any research on Accord. So I don't know about the pricing. But I have seen Honda would put more options as standard like sunroof, foglights, ABS, alloy wheels on their top of the line model. And it would be a pricy option on Toyota. On the other, Toyota is a big automaker. They offer more incentive and cash back which gives the lower price for the consumers.
Sales price $21,778, doc and loan fee $499, sales tax (6%) $1336, title fee $39, lemon law fee $3, total $23,655, minus $1000 rebate, drive out total $22,655. This was a factory order and the car had 6 miles on it when i picked it up.
Financed $14,000 with bank of america at 2.99% for 60 months. Payment is $251/month, although i intend to pay $300/month and pay it off in about 4 years.
Is this a good deal?
On the 2003 XLE Camry V6 with an Msrp of $26,252.
Your Internet Dept. price is $23,306. plus tax, license and $45.
document fee.
In addtion there is a $1,000. rebate on the V6 Camry from Toyota until
July 7, 2003.
Should I wait it out or just buy now? thanks!

so to my way of thinking, if you're paying invoice +$300, then you're paying at least $1250 too much...unless minnesota area dealers are not doing the same as what ohio dealers are.
am i nuts?
In Minnesota, there is a choice of $ 700 rebate, low financing, or special lease rates. Of course these are after you've gotten your best price from the dealer.
I think the better deal for the RS3200 Plus is $250 plus $90 for GBS. You have to ask them if they are installing the Toyota OEM or aftermarket.
i think your question is which dealer will give me the best price with the least haggle. This all depends on what you think is the best price. If you are willing to pay a little over invoice, then most dealers should be pretty easy to work with. however if your idea of a good deal is $500 below invocie before rebates, you will have to work to get that. Most dealers are not going to just keel over and over you the rock bottom price upfront without some work and haggling on your part.
The dealer next door was a Honda dealer and they had the Accord for $22840 firm. The Accord certainly was a nice car with more bells and whistles but I didn't feel like spending the extra $5k.

Thanks for any input.
A month ago I missed a deal at Toyota Mall of Ga. I asked for 17,500 drive out. After a few round, sale managers came out and tell me that he would not sell it for less than 18,800. As I stood up, he lower down to 18,000. Then as I walked away he asked me if I could do 17,600. I thought he was going to sell it since there was only 100 dollars different. So I just kept walking and unfortunately he just let me walk out.
Two days later, I came back and told the sale man that I would like to take that deal( 17,600). This time another sale manager came out and tell me that I should have taken the deal 2 days ago. He also let me know that he would not be able to do 17,600 but 18,050.
Again, I left the dealership without the car.
On Jul 6, I got a quote from Stonemountain Toyota and Sandyspring in the amount of 18,050. But Shawn from Sandyspring told me that he could beat other dealership up to $500. On July 7, I called him back and asked him if he could do 17,600. Five minutes later he called back and tell me he could do for 17,400 (drive out). That's how I got the car.
03 Camry LE (phantom grey pearl)
Cash price 18,650
Cash back 1,250 (This is ended 7/7/03)
Final 17,400
I put down $5,000 and refinance the rest for 60 months with 5.45%
So my silly question is :
Do any of you think I got a good deal or not?
My wife is really happy, but I think I should have asked for more.
example: cash price 18,050 (instead 18,650)
cash back 1,250
then final price 16,800
Somehow, I felt like I still have overpaid about $600
I really appreciate if you can give me your thoughts
Thanks
Read my message I posted earlier. I think 18,500 drive out is still high. Many dealers are more than willing to do 18,050. If you work really really and I mean really hard, you may be able to find one that can do 17,100-18,000. Since the 1,250 rebate expired yesterday, you may have to wait till the end of the month for another special promotion.
If there is a rebate: Work hard for the best price and then use the rebate last.
If there is no rebate: Work harder for the best price.

It has premium plus package, side & curtain airbags, moonroof, front seat heating, etc. I paid about $23,000 in cash!
I don't think I made a good deal, considering $1,000 factroy rebate. In retrospect, I think I should have done more research.
Do you think I paid too much?
Some feedbacks would greatly help other buyers to get an idea about current price on this vehicle.
*Questions #1: so far driving feels smooth, but I hear some rattling noise here and there inside. Maybe interiors are not tightly assembled. Is it normal for new Camry? Should I complain to dealer for checking and adjustment?
*Questions #2: The dealer suggested that I should buy exterior treatment plan. It costs $199. They will wax treatment (or coating?)the car every 6 months for 3 years. I figure that's a totla of 6 time treatments. Is it worth buying it? Should I get the treatment done somewhere other than dealer? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I've talked to 5 dealers in Atlanta and the best quote I got from them is 18,000.
Thanks
I really want to wait for 04 models(out in Sept) but my wife can't wait and of course price will be more expensive.
