So you flew to Ontario and then drove it back after pickup from Toyota Marina Del Rey?

So your total cost is 20,200 OTD plus $100 plus about 7 hours of driving time and the gas.

    Not bad.

I think I was quoted 21,700 -ish by Sunnyvale Toyota. They claimed LEs at a minimum had the mat package, which is like a $200 option?

Did you have to take that too?

Hey Guys I guess i should i have specified in my previous post that when i bought the car i was tols that the car has ALL SEASON tires ...as i stay in California i think all season tires are the one which i should go for.
Also i forgot to mention that the dealar lost my STICKER while washing the car... THAT SUCKS....and now its been a week the customer Manager cant find out whether my car has summer tires or ALl season tires....Treadwear on my TOYO proxes J33B is 220 whereas for TOYO proxes TPT(ALL SEASON)have treadwear of 440.
Until now i have spoken to the dealer and not contacted TOYOTA...but i guess now i will have to.
Thanks for the feedback guys....but i still beleive i should get i paid for.

the trans. went 1 yr ago after doing rack & pinion...car
only had 60,000 mi. now it went again and it isnt under warantee anymore...am I crazy to buy 2007 v6 camry given the
trans. problem i've been hearing about? What's a fair price
for the 6007 v6 with sun roof and leather and heated seats
    but nonavigation?
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
The J33 are summer performance tires.

All season tires should have a "M + S" on them.

The dealer can get you another window sticker!!!!!!!

I had to order this to get it with the options I wanted/didn't want. My dealer said that they're not sending this car to So Cal with the vehicle stability control. It should be ready in 6-8 weeks. This is the quote I'm getting:

2007 Camry XLE V6 with Vehicle Stability Control, side molding (to be installed by dealer), floor & trunk mats -
    $27,902 before TTL.

Anybody know if this is a good price for Southern Cal?

    Thanks.
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
If the vehicle is equipped as you described, the MSRP is $29,144 and dealer invoice is about $26,533.

I think $27,902 (almost $1,400 over dealer invoice) is a terrible price anywhere, anytime.

.....but Toyota dealers find suckers everyday and everywhere.

Which dealership in Cleveland did you deal with?
  • caleb2007caleb2007 Member Posts: 3
What would you consider is an acceptable amount over invoice?

    Thanks.
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
I paid $300 over dealer invoice (XLE) over 4 months ago when they first came out.

I wouldn't pay over $150 over now for an XLE or SE.

For a stripper CE, I would wait for a newspaper come-on special at under invoice.
  • caleb2007caleb2007 Member Posts: 3
Where are you located and does yours have VSC? That's my problem, all the dealers I've been to say that Toyota's not shipping those to So Cal so I have to order it from the factory. Thanks.
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
I'm in the Seattle area and I wanted and have VSC/TC.

Hello all, im planning on buying the new camry se v6 with leather and the jbl. My lowest quote was 27200 OTD this still seems a bit high in my opinion although i could be wrong. Any input or insights would be extremely welcome.
  • clipper1clipper1 Member Posts: 70
As Caleb2007 states in the above warning:

ANYONE paying more than $150 over invoice is a "sucker"

    For ANY CAMRY..... ANYWHERE.

    Wise up folks!

    I just got a quote for a 4cy SE for 23900

it includes JBL stereo, sunroof, VSC

its about 1000 above invoice, is that a good price, I was looking for 400 above invoice...any opinions...thanks

You've answered your own question....you can probably do better, if it's worth your time and effort.

I'm looking at purchasing a XLE V6 with Nav, XM Sat radio, and a handful of other accessories. The quotes received to date have all been on the high side ($31 k and higher). Can someone recommend a dealership in the vicinity (NJ, NYC, Long Island, Ct) that has provided more attractive offers, or is $31k about right?

    Thanks very much!
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
    $28,500-28,600 + $99 at Fitzmall.
  • tyray15tyray15 Member Posts: 11
I got a quote for about the same car (JBL, sunroof, spoiler, floor mats). I offered $22,400 but they said they could do $22,998 which is still pretty decent....I think???

I did some homework for the Toyota Camry Hybrid by pricing the car on Costco and Consumer Reports. This was my first new car buying experience and it was great - no hassle! My '94 Corolla can now retire ;)

Visited 3 Toyota Dealers that day from 9am (quote from Longo - $29k out the door, the other quote ridiculously high). Those 2 dealers said it was impossible to sell the hybrid less than MSRP. I went with the 3rd - the one that made it happen, signed paperwork @ 6pm.

    The final deal:
    MSRP - $26,679 ($580 delivery fee + $199 carpet mat set)
    My price - $24,771
Out the door - $26,999 (incl. taxes/license/reg. fees)

They had ~8 in stock (all with no options) at that time, which was over 2 weeks ago. Filled up my first tank of gas yesterday after 530 miles!! Wuhoo!
  • spiff72spiff72 Member Posts: 179
That seems like a nice deal. I think the base models aren't sought after as much as the loaded ones.

I got a quote on a 2007 Camry LE 2.4L with no addtitonal options for $19600 excluding destination fee, tax, tag and title. Is this too high? What did others pay for this?

Invoice on this car in the Mid-Atlantic area is $19,316 including the destination fee. Fitzmall sale price for this car is about $400 above invoice, plus $100 Documentation. TTL is after you get the car out the door.
  • bill3777bill3777 Member Posts: 6
2007 Camry LE 2.4L no extra options

Edmunds and a few other sites list an invoice price of $18348 plus $580 destination for a total of $18928 excluding TTL. Is the amount listed on these sites inaccurate? If so, why? Does the invoice price vary by region?
  • jbl8jbl8 Member Posts: 40
    I don't get it!!
In NJ, I got quote for Acura TL for less than $29500 - which is V6, sunroof, leather; Honda Pilot for less than 25900 - which is V6 sunroof, leather, 4WD -- why SE V6 Camry is more expansive than the Acura and 4WD Pilot?

Something is wrong here, folks! Are dealers posting misleading messages here?

Please post your good deals on SE V6 here.

This has been discussed many times. Read the small print on the Edmunds site.

    This is a test.

    keanegirl76,
That is a great deal for Socal. Can you tell me what dealership you got the car from?
  • grapesmugglergrapesmuggler Member Posts: 10
Tonight I just ordered a SE V6 with NAV, Sunroof package, Leather package, traction control, spoiler, floor mats for 28,100.

I thought this was reasonable...Probably could've haggled for another few hundred off, but I was tired of playing around. I liked the sales guy, so maybe he made a few bucks off me...

Can't wait for it to show up, they say about 6-8 weeks...I'd be surprised to see it within 12 because of the NAV on it.

Anyone order a similar car with NAV? How long did it take to get it?
  • needanicecarneedanicecar Member Posts: 10
Yea, that sounds like a good price, I wish I could get that price in the seattle area...I may have to go for an Accord 4cy EX-L at

but I will call them again to try get a better price
  • njeraldnjerald Member Posts: 689
Dealer Invoice on a SE I4 auto with JBL, Spoiler and floor mats in the Seattle area would be $21,417 if you could get it configured that way, which you can't.

Per toyota.com, a SE I4 auto with Option Pkg E ( - Aluminum Wheel (All Season) (AS)
    - 50 State Emissions (FE)
    - Color-Keyed Rear Lip Spoiler (RF)
    - Heated Outside Mirrors[14] (EH)
    - JBL® AM/FM 6-Disc In-Dash CD Changer w/8 Speakers in 6 Locations, Satellite Radio Capability[7], MP3/WMA Playback Capability, Aux. Audio Jack, and Bluetooth®[8] Wireless Technology. (EJ)
    - Sport Convenience Package includes: HomeLink® Universal Transceiver & Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror w/Compass (QB) ) and floor mats would have a MSRP of $24,075 and a dealer invoice of under $21,600.

I can buy this car in the Seattle area for $21,900 or less everyday of the week.

Toyota of San Bernardino, but the internet sales dept/fleet dept were not the ones who sold it to me. If anything they were the ones who were trying to say they could not sell it for that price due to current demand. They ignored the Costco price (which is a whole other story - why is Costco quoting invoice/MSRP prices on hybrids if dealers are not matching them...argh!) even though I had my printout - just as the Redlands dealer did.

Each dealer has many, many sub-sections that can sell @ prices that are different from others even @ the same dealership. The section I purchased from was recommended to me by a close friend/co-worker. My salesman was professional, and not pushy. After he quoted me the price, he said that was the best he could do (and I believe him!). If I wanted to, I could check around and he would hold the price for 5 days. When I went to sign the papers, Redlands begged me to come back saying they would match Toyota of San Bernardino's price if I could "show proof of the quote"...they just waited too long in my book to take action and they could have called T of SB if they really wanted my business (Redlands Toyota gave me the first ridiculous price of $32K then down to $30K, but eventually said they could match the $27K out the door price - go figure).

Hope this helps and good luck!

I can not see the reason why one would want to pluck down 27K plus for a 4 cylinder car. Sure it saves on gas but not enough to justify the cost or performance.

Maybe you need to look at it as something other than a 4c car. More like it's a car with a mystery system that produces 192 hp (a lot more then the 4cSE).

Averaging 38mpg(not just an EPA highway number like many want to talk about on their cars) is an incredible feat for a large car that also has decent performance. There is really nothing else out there that can compete with it head to head.

I'm looking to buy a SE V6. I want to get VSC as an option but all the dealers tell me that SE doesn't come with VSC in MA. One dealer even told me that that is because SE got different suspension? Blunt lie!
Any way, I go to buyatoyota.com and there are two option packs that have VSC in MA. Does anyone in MA or NE had the same experience?
  • spiff72spiff72 Member Posts: 179
Keep in mind that the federal goverment will give you $2600 back next year, and that the TCH is optioned esentially like an XLE model. The cost difference is pretty small, actually.
  • bill3777bill3777 Member Posts: 6
based on an invoice of $19316.... $19,640 seems like a decent offer for a 2007 LE 2.4L
  • littlejohn600littlejohn600 Member Posts: 80
This difference in the invoice price as quoted by Edmunds and what the dealer is billed, is what the Toyota distributor includes to cover advertising and whatever.
In the Southeast it is called Administrative ($564) and in the Central Atlantic it is called TDA (about $400). Maybe someone with a dealership can explain as to how much of this fee is actually kicked back.
Another factor to consider is how much the final price paid is padded with high Documentation Charges.
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
Do not get caught up in the various fees that are charged... just shop for the bottom line OTD price. I do not care if I am charged a $1,000 "Doc" fee as long as the bottom line OTD price is best after comparing "apples to apples" of course.
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
Ok so you end up paying lets say 25k for this car after you get the $2,600 back ... you still are paying 25k for a 4 cylinder car optioned like an XLE or not.
  • jbl8jbl8 Member Posts: 40
Acura TL with all the stuffs for $29500. And you SE V6 is $28100. That's why I don't get it! I thought SE V6 should be something around $24K with leather, sunroof etc. A NAV system cost less than $1K from bestbuy. :confuse:

THANK YOU to all the participants on this and similar other forums. You have helped car-IGNORANTs like me ENORMOUSLY!!!

Now...about the car...got an email quote from the dealership Wednesday...paid for it yesterday (Friday), picked it up today (in Chicago).... with ZILCH hassle.... in/out.

    Here's what I paid....I don't care what anybody says...I got a very decent deal....considering...

    TCH with Sunroof - 26,149.00
    Doc Fee - 57.00
    Title/Reg - 143.00
Side mouldings and door/wheel protection thingy - 200.00
    Plus the tax (7.75%) - 2048
    Total paid - 28,622.33

All this when all other dealerships were putting you on 8-week waiting lists and laughed at you when you asked them for ANY discount off of MSRP. I know, I know...it's probably a case of being at the right place at the right time...but still....this is not a rarity as other new-owners have mentioned on this forum.

Car drove home pretty impressively...I have driven V4s all my life so it's zippy enough for me...although I did want the LE-V6 initially.

Good luck with your hunt and many congtraulations if you already own one. I hope it turns out to be a great car.

I'll post my experience with this machine on other appropriate forums and hope to learn to become a better driver :)

Its in the ball park for the Phoenix Arizona area based on my recent experiences. Almost all quotes were over $22K out the door. That would mean the base price was about $19.9K. When I stated the invoice price was $18928 they just say they are notselling the car under invoice. And invoice includes another$1k of advertising or whatever.

They apparenly can do this as their inventories are so low. There were an average of 2 or so at each dealer and the ones
left were usually an very undesirable dark color.

The lowest price out the door was $21500 but the deal has
not be consumated as yet. And I have to show him Fitzgeralds prices to get that.

    Teff

Does anyone know of good pricing on a 2007 toyota camry auto
with 4 cyl near Phoenix Arizona? I can only find $19.5K or $21.5K (out the door). I realize I can meet this price through Figsgerald's but that is a long way from Phoenix AZ.

We just purchased a Camry SE V6 with everything except Nav for 26,600.00 + TTL. I went thru Costco and did pretty good I thought. We live in Connecticut and went to a dealer in Massachusetts. We drove the Acura, (which was my favorite at first), but my husband and I both felt the Camry was the better of the two.
  • tonysgirltonysgirl Member Posts: 5
We just purchased our Camry SE V6 with traction control in Massachusetts. The salesgirl did tell us that the traction control was hard to get, but they happen to have the color combo I was looking for on order already. We lucked out without having to place an order. The dealer we used was Lia Toyota of Wilbraham. We are from CT, so I don't know if I am spelling the town name correctly!

Toyota of Huntington Beach. I got my hybrid July 30. base model with chrome wheel package. Out the door 28,200. So roughly 25,900 was the cost of the car with chrome wheel package. I think its a good deal, but i see someone got $27K out the door.
  • guru_gguru_g Member Posts: 62
I think you might have paid a little bit ($300-400) on the higher side (unless you are in a zone that charges advert. fees or the dealer did not charge you a prep. fee). I got an LE V6+VSC+JBL+Body side moulding+CF for 23,246+6% Tax+$60 documentation fee +$300 prep. fee (was not happy about this one)=$25K OTD
  • topgun7topgun7 Member Posts: 412
does anyone has experience in shopping for a Camry Hybrid with Nav in N. California? I checked Toyota web site and look like they did not have this combination available in N. California. Is that true...
  • jbolltjbollt Member Posts: 736
Not sure why, but the Toyota web site indicated that NAV wasn't avail here in AZ either, but I bought one last week with NAV. I guess the Toyota web site is wrong.

I would contact the fleet dept of a few dealers in your area. They should know for sure if they are getting TCHs with NAV.

I live in San Diego, CA. There is a regular price-war between 2 Toyota dealers (Bob Baker and El Cajon), I saw an ad in a local papers for Camry LE 4cyl. auto for $17,2450. Their ads are real, at least in my personal experience. I have bought 3 cars for my family members in the past 5 years through ads like this.
  • tweliyingtweliying Member Posts: 23
$300 prep. fee is too much. I was charged $50 document fee.
