Would it be too wishful to expect more reasonable price- $500+ invoice in NYC right now?
With regard to the keyless entry, you can get any after market security system and that can be programmed to have keyless entry as long as you have power doors. If not, you will also have to install actuators for each door so that when you push the button, the locks will flip.
With regard to trying to make myself and concertkey feel unreasonable about our purchase experience is unreasonable on your part. You have to understand that we are already Toyota owners that have had to deal with their growth over the years. My first Camry was a 1984 that I didn't have trouble with until it hit about 150K miles. I didn't event think about wanting a new one until it got to 179K miles. With my 99, I didn't like that it was built in KY because it had two recalls and I lost my car for two days each time. I was looking forward to the hybrid because it was built in Japan (where they are experienced) and I see the trouble that 2007 Camry owners are having and all the recalls so far are generated by the KY plant where they are going to produce the hybrids. Not only are they inexperience, they seem to have issues at that particular plant. I could care less about the lenght of production time, I just want to know when so that I can make sure that everthing I was planning (tax credit for IRS, tax deduction for CA FTB) will still be eligible and most of all, that it will be mfg in Japan.
As for the GM car sitting on the lot, these are Corvettes with limited production and I live in SoCal where the weather is good and they generally sell their allotments by the end of June. Besides, the one I am planning to buy is approximately $62K and will be a collectible. To have it manufactured specifically for you and picked up at the museum will have special nameplates on the car showing it was specially built for a particular owner. This is something that unless you understand the Corvette society, really cannot be explained. You can get an additional feel for it is you're interested in the Corvette Forums.
Recently I was told by a dealer in tampa , FL they can keyless enty to a CE & give me. I wanted LE , so i didnt ask the details...
I want to buy camry LE.
Can you let me know the dealshop?
Was it a basic one without options?
How did other fees cost?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you!
I looked at 355 toyota but they were at least wanting $1000 above invoice, and didn't even have a manual camry (much less SE) for me to test drive.
I should hear back about how long to expect until I receive it later this week from the dealership. Overall they were very receptive to my custom order request, and walked me through every step.
(SE-V6) from Caldwell Toyota (NJ) and I still do not have a build date.
And what do you mean 'a car comes in with your specified preferences'. Do you mean to the dealership itself, or somewhere else?
I do have to be clear though, your experience may be different because you are buying one that is built here in the US. I was ordering one coming from Japan - a hybrid. But I did check with a friend whose mom works for Toyota Corporate here and the distribution description above is what they do here for the cars that come through the port of LA.
The car is being produced in Kentucky, so like you said i'm not sure what changes that might have on the entire process.
I'm just hoping to have the car delivered by beginning of November (approx 3 months) at the latest, so hopefully it will all go smootly, although I realize there have been people experiencing problems getting their SE's.
From start to finish it took less than a week. ask for the lady who helped us (sorry can't publish her name).
We have owned Toyota for 30 years and this was the best buying experience we ever had.
what color are you getting?
I know of 3 Albanys in different states but I'm sure there are more.
Fitzmall has this vehicle w/mats, VSC/TC, and wheel locks at dealer invoice of $23,457 (includes dest.). They are selling for $23,957.
W/o the mats and wheel locks, subtract $163.
If you are in the SE region, the dealer invoice will be even more.
Dealer cost is not the same as dealers invoice and/or manufacturers invoice. Forget about dealer cost, it's not relevant!!!
I bought my '07 XLE I4 (VSC/TC, mats, leather, heated seats) for $24,903 ($300 over dealer invoice) 5 months ago.
Do you like the car??....Best of luck with it....
It's quiet, competent with good fuel economy.
Good luck! Be ready to go up if you want the car. They are at about $800 above their invoice.
All those consumers report figures are irrelevant on a new popular model.
If it was me, I wouldn't pay more than $23,600 total.
I am getting the metallic grey. I am still not sure if I will get it finally. The comments in the "woes" section bothers me a lot. This will be my first new car. I am quite upset already.
I spoke to my dealer..he said if I don't want it, I can still cancel the deal..so I am debating...if I cancel this camry..there are no other cars in the market that I like...honda is boring and nissan do not give you much in the base price.. so I am thinking..
Did you see what Damon34 and kiawah wrote about their cars? If they are right, I will be completely screwed up.
Does anyone know the Camry market well? I am wanting to know if it gets more fluid in December like most markets do. Reason being I am ordering one and it is suppose to be here about that time frame. They said they would work with me on the price if the market was more fluid then but I am wondering if I should just go ahead and do the deal. Seems like prices are going up instead of down.
I have made a final offer on the XLE and if I don't get my price I don't buy..I have upped my price but it is time to dig in. They would make, according to my figures about 900 profit on the sale...if they don't want it thats fine...eventually I will buy the car for my price and if I don't who cares. If you feel you are paying too much and that bothers you then do not buy the car IMHO.
You cannot find a car on a lot that meets your needs??? Try Fitzgerald Auto Malls....pretty concise auto site with seemingly no games. If I lived closer to them I would be a customer. All cars should be sold as they do..instead of all the lies and bs that goes on.
I can beat that locally but if i couldn't, I have traveled 1,000 miles to get the vehicle and price I wanted.
A number of posters here lately are just unrealistic.
You didn't say mats were included the first time.
$23,420
When you said yesterday that you would not pay more than 23,600 that included the dest chg correct???.....So do you think that my offer to them was a fair one?? Or is my premise of the real cost to the dealer too low??.....
Had a very bad experience once and I am being very very cautious. I would like the car but I DO NOT have to buy it now....what say you...TY...
Yes, why talk about the total price of the car w/o the destination charge. It's ridiculous. And that was w/o mats, if you remember.
.....So do you think that my offer to them was a fair one??
Fair for you! Let the dealer worry about his cost.
You might as well wait until next year although if you go through the same stuff on a new Altima you will get the same result.
