I read that too about the BMW in C&D. The Slingshot/Smart connection is news, however.

Don't you think they should have shown it with the top off?

Otherwise it just looks like a tiny, anonymous econobox hatchback.

The top off would double its appeal.

Starting February 12, you will need to log in using your email address rather than your Town Hall username.

Asked a question about Log-in where there's a host of Host and Staff, but no picture no sound.

Just ran the Home Depot San Francisco half marathon this morning. I set a new PR of 1:39 exactly (7:33 min/mile pace).

I had no guilt stuffing my face with nachos during the Super Bowl.

Bob: my point exactly. We walked right by it, paid it no attention.

Had the top been off, I would have at least paused for a minute.

We're finally really starting to see the results of the DCX partnership.

Ken: I didn't know you were still running. That's cool.

I heard a really offensive commercial on the radio this morning. It was for the Dodge Ram truck and consisted of a guy singing the praises of the Ram with the song’s reframe consisting of the word "intimidate" repeated over and over. One bit went something like “Intimidate, you can be a nice guy but no one has to know it, intimidate…” Is it just me or is an ad campaign that focuses on a vehicle’s intimidation factor patently offensive and at least subconsciously encourages road-rage?

With Dodge very nearly sponsoring the Lingerie Bowl, I think they're new demographic is Neanderthal Men.

Sounds like they hit their target market.

Great job on the half marathon!

How about a full marathon in Colorado Springs on Labor Day?

The 4th annual American Discovery Trail Marathon will start at 6:30 a.m. Monday, September 6, 2004.

The marathon is all on trails, some gravel or crushed rock, with a couple of strectches of concrete. It starts in Palmer Lake and finishes in Monument Valley Park, i.e., downtown Colorado Springs.

Last year proceeds went to the Trails and Open Space Coalition and to the US Association of Blind Athletes. This year's proceeds will go to Trails and Open Space Coalition and to the Pikes Peak Road Runners.

While there are some uphills in the northern part of the course, we still have a net elevation loss of more than 1000 feet. In addition to the normal post-race food, there's even pizza.

Congratulations! I've been an exercise wuss for too long....
  • kenskens Member Posts: 5,869
Thanks everyone for the congrats. Getting out of bed was interesting this morning. I had to take lots of little baby steps. Ouch, ouch.

Frank: This particular course is relatively flat:
    http://www.pamakids.org/events.html

I'm sure it had a lot to do with my time compared to the last 1/2 marathon I ran across the GG Bridge.

Mike: Sounds interesting, but let me get a few more on-road marathons under my belt before I go off-road and up one mile in elevation!

Ken - great job! Finally got my b__t back in the gym this weekend. Very sore today.

Way to go Ken! Great time.

No half marathons for me, but I did ride my bike for 3 hrs and 20 min. on Sat. No guilt with the Superbowl munchies for me either. ;-)

Soooo, how about that halftime show? ;-)

I didn't watch superboob, but had to laugh at the comments ... Justin Timberlake referred to it in a statement as a "wardrobe malfunction" and Janet referred to it as a "costume reveal" ...
talk about creative language ... (and does someone in the Jackson family think a sibling is getting more attention that she is at the moment???)

We missed it all. We decided to have a couple friends over for dinner but had a great time sitting around talking that we never turned on the game.

I made ravioli stuffed with seafood mousseline and chopped shrimp, finished with saffron cream sauce. Served it with sauted broccolini. We opened a Bollinger Grand Annee 1996 Champagne with the meal (Kirsten's last glass of wine was going to be a good one!)and had Sancerre with our goat cheese afterward.

i watched it all. we decided to have a couple of friends over for dinner but had a great time sitting around talking and watching the game.

i made hot dogs stuffed with mystery meat and pasta with a hot sauce. served it with buns. we opened a 2004 bottle of budweiser with the meal ( My wifes one of many bottles ) and had coors light with tatter tots afterward.

Eating sounds like much more fun than running. A hike at elevation would work though.

I think I've been in Texas too long. I was thinking a 4 X 4 super cab with long bed in black with drill pipe bumpers (new F-150 now that it appears safer than the Dodge RAM) would make a good next commuter vehicle. Then I could blend right in with traffic. Reality brings me back to considering the Subaru 05MY base LW, base OBW, and Forester XS (PP w/ cloth?). If reliability wasn't such a concern then the VW Passat TDi wagon would join the list. On really frugal days the Civic, Corolla, and Matrix join the list. Looking for something that will last 10-15 yrs.

Anyway, anyone have the Chase Subaru Mastercard? Do you get a coupon once every twelve months or in increments? Do the Subaru bucks have a shelf life?
    TIA

I suspect we'll be seeing a new TV show called "World's Funniests Boobers."

    Bob
  • dcm61dcm61 Member Posts: 1,567
You get the coupons in $100 increments, maximum of $500 per year, maximum of $2000 over four years.

They mail you coupons each time you have accrued $100 in Subaru Bucks. Each $100 coupon expires in 4 years.

  • hypovhypov Member Posts: 3,068
per year = each anniversary of the cards issue date, not calender year.

    -Dave
  • dcm61dcm61 Member Posts: 1,567
I think I also saw somewhere that if you accrue more than $500 in a year, they issue the remaining amount the next year.

    DaveM
  • hypovhypov Member Posts: 3,068
Hmmm got to go read up the terms again. I'm under the impression that once the $500 ceiling is reached within/prior to the anniversary, no points are awarded until the next cycle begins. At least that's how it worked previously with MBNA.

Thank goodness the FCC is investigating the incident!!! It's horrible that kids saw a bap on the telly. Now let's get back to watching our shooting and killing shows. ;-p

Ken - Way to go! I'm tired just from reading about it. :-)

Chris - You earn $100 for every $3,333 that you spend. You'll get Subaru bucks mailed each time you reach that amount. I believe they do have an expiry date.

    -Dennis
  • amsbearamsbear Member Posts: 147
I've already accrued the $500 limit for my cycle year. It seems that the only bucks carried over are bucks that were the excess from the monthly CC bill that put my total bucks over the $500 limit.

I've had $42 points for the past several months now with continued activity on the card.

I went to a friend's house, but turned away to watch my son when the "costume reveal". Maybe Dodge paid them? LOL

I think it's no big deal, people breast feed in public all the time.

Next year I'm gonna crach Lucien's party, we had sloppy joes!

My daughter passed her drivers test yesterday. All of you in Northern NJ batten down the hatches if you see a 96 Impreza Outback coming down the road!
Seriously, she's pretty good behind the wheel as we have tried to work a lot with her.

Can I tell you how much I don't like car insurance rates about now??

I know what you're going through. My older daughter got her license and we shipped her off to college w/o a car. 8~)

My younger daughter will be getting her license soon but will still be at home for a few more years. I need to start saving for the big insurance bill.
