To the best of my recollection, the 3rd row seats in wagons (by the then 'big 4') of the late '50's & 60's were all rear facing. Ford introduced the split side facing 3rd row in '69. The forward facing 3rd row of the International Travelall and Chevy Suburban didn't go into the floor. That may leave the '95 Odyssey as the first in-the-floor forward facing.

I also agree I don't know what the hangup is about offering pre outs on factory decks.
All but the cheapest aftermarket decks have them.
Cheers Pat.

I hate the Celine ads, too. Pacifica launch was a huge flop. Chrysler's rebates on that model are up to $3000 already.

The 2.4l is quick in the Accord, peppy in the CR-V, but only adequate in the heavier Element. Some people complain about that.
To haul 7 people I'm not sure if the 2.4l will manage. Maybe if it's lighter than the CR-V.

Gotta have the V-TEC 6 IMHO.

That 3.0l would be fine for the smaller JDM Odyssey.

Won a free 256MB USB memory card for it. :-)
Would have preferred a good ol' fashioned bonus but I'll take it...

The midsized 1964 Olds Cutlass Vista Cruiser and its near twin, the Buick Skylark Sport Wagon were memorable because they introduced the raised panoramic glass roof panels. They also featured a forward facing third row seat that folded to create a flat load floor.

I could get one from work if I needed one neeways.
Saw most of those pics on the chat. Nice Benz. Funny Z label. Lose the silly brace and you could actually fit cargo.
Which Lexus had that label? The new GS?
I can't explain why, but the toned down two-tone actually looks good. Maybe it's the new color combos. I don't usually like it.
Love those projector beams. Even the fog lights have projector beams, I believe.
Steve: did the seats fold down, under the floor? The best part about the Odyssey was that well increased cargo capacity even when the seats are in use. Got any pics of that car?

I was surprised, too. CAFE numbers are borderline, I think they could use at least one engine in the 2.0-2.2 range.
-jucie
I would think the latest 2.0 can match it for power, and beat it for economy. Also there is the 2.5, so maybe they think the 2.2 is just too close in size to both the 2.0 and 2.5. Remember, the 2.2 arrived before the 2.5. My guess is the 2.5 superseded it.

Ford (you could even say the Big 3) is always looking back to its glorious past, as market share continues to erode.
They need to look forward. Even the new Mustang has a live axle, this is 2005 folks! Get out of the Stone Age, Ford. If they had spent the Ford GT R&D money on improving their mainstream cars, we might not still see live axles on the Mustang.

Oops! Maybe in cutting costs so many costs, he removed the brakes?

Cooper drop to will be a hit, watch. They say it'll be $5 grand more than the coupe, so $21-26k base price.
Mazda will update the Miata just in time, with Solstice and Cooper conv. arriving.

The wagons with the rear-facing seats were the most ridiculous thing ever. I recall many instances of obnoxious little kids making faces at me while I followed one of those things down the road. I've always wondered how many cases of road rage were started in that manner...
Pat's car being the insane/OCD exception.
Nice catch, Steve. Look how long that wagon was. My dad had an early 80s Olds Custom Cruiser wagon w/3 rows. It had great features like a rear gate that would fold or swing, and a window that went down into the gate.
But...that V8 guzzled gas, was slow, and the whole thing handled like a bath tub half full of water. 3rd row also made you a little car sick at times.
