An E55 is wasted on public roads, and taking it to the track put a lot at stake.

although if they did, I'd hope that the finance division crumpled completely.

The kit is only about $140 too, which is reasonable.

Like the fit of the WRX seats. I like to be close to the steering wheel but still far away from the pedals because I have long legs and hate smacking them on the steering column. Whatever happened to telescoping steering wheels? Adjustable pedals on the F-150 I test drove a while ago were really nice alternative. Had a very hard time finding a nice driving position in the CR-V I recall, and I smacked my knee on the steering column twice getting in and out. It was a definite strike against it for me. Never found a sweet spot in the Sienna we had for 4 years either.

Given you know how to wrench, why get a car you couldn't touch without a laptop and a PhD in Computer Science?
Touchy yet artificial feeling brakes, by-wire everything. OK it's mega-fast, but there's more to a driving experience that all that simulation.
Check out an A8 or maybe a Q45, both depreciate quicker to boot.
I'd still get the tow vehicle first.

PS Congrats on the move. Just playin' Devil's Advocate now

I'll probably go with the truck first too, it'll be more useful for towing the trailer and boat etc.

It will be precious metals futures and physical for the Far East markets 7p-3a Su-Th. Not a bad shift

Thinks GM and Subaru isn't a bad idea
And he's moving to futures trading
Gone over the Darkside if you ask me. Musta sold his soul for a second quicker on his lap times or something.
Maybe the pod-people have taken him over.

Are we seeing a kinder, gentler paisan?
Naaaaaah. LOL
Bob - no surprise, Ford and GM's new efforts are half-hearted at best. Every Dodge minivan owner I know has had to rebuild his tranny at least once.

Are we seeing a kinder, gentler paisan?
You joke about futures, funnies futures that I've seen traded? "Weather Futures"! They gamble on the weather in various cities. Not traded a lot but they actually have them in the system! I was rolling over laughing when I saw that.
-mike
I'll wager my life savings that it will definitely rain the day after I wash my Subaru. I can actually GUARANTEE VICTORY!
LOL
-juice
short version and totally my opinion: I think you're right Mike, it's more like gambling than trading. they can't get the weather right 12 hours in advance half the time!
~c
we could make a killing in weather futures

Good Luck again!

The vehicle is fascinating in many ways:
• It's the largest factory-designed "pickup," in that it's a full-medium sized truck.
• It uses air-adjustable IFS/IRS
• The engine is actually the long-rumored International-designed Ford 4.5L V6 Powerstroke, that was to make it into future F-150s and the like.
No word as to whether these concepts will make it into production, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Weather futures are just part of the alternative risk transfer market which sort of exists at the boundary of insurance and gambling.
There is an exquisitely arcane area of insurance (Pluvius) dealing with weather insurance for outdoor events that might be harmed by rain or similar events. It is typically taken out by schools, churches and similar where a fundraiser might be affected by the weather. https://www.ccinsurances.com.au/church_ins/information/pluvius.as- p is one typical Australian provider.
It is also common to have weather insurance for big concerts. By and large, muso's get twitchy about playing electric instrucments in the rain. It might be apocryphal but someone is supposed to have been electocuted once.
One of the most popular jobs I do is to arrange attendance at such concerts by an independent assessor to confirm whether the event is rained out. The fact that such attendance comes with a backstage pass and impressive food and booze riders makes it attractive to my colleagues looking for a free night's entertainment.
Bizarrely it is also a prime opportunity for picking up desirable partners and one colleague lines up each year for the onorous task of ensuring Sydney's New Year Eve fireworks are not rained out. So far, in four years, the latest he has made it is 11:40pm before meeting a suitable companion. There is apparently something attractive about claiming you are working whilst eating and drinkng and...
Oh, to keep this on topic; "Subaru's are really good in rainy Australian conditions because of their All Wheel drive!" Does that satisfy the rquirement for this topic?
Cheers
Graham

JDM 280horsepower gentlemans agreement came to the end
6/10 Japan,
Japan Automobile Manufactures Association (JAIA) concluded that the industry's voluntary regulation of horsepower to 280hp applied to Japanese vehicles will be terminated.
For those unaware, all the Japanese cars in Japanese Domestic Market had the limit of 280 horsepower to its horsepower. I think it's been in effect since around 1990 or so.
Here's the link but it's in Japanese.

XS monotone w/moonroof and no leather? Nice...
Now offer that with the XT. I think you still have to get leather.
Loosh - it's an orphan! So is my Acadia Green Metallic, still the nicest green Subaru has ever sold. ;-)

I knew it -- you CAN read Japanese! ;-P

I wouldn't be at all surprised to much more powerful Evos and STis within the next few years. Both cars, particularly the Evo, can be easily modified for a lot more horsepower.

I spent 6 weeks on course at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (attached to Walter Reid)in DC back in 94. It was a great time - no call, 7 hours of lecture a day if you actually went to them all. We went to Georgetown a lot. I was even sober once, but that was the day I was leaving and went on campus to buy lots of sweatshirts as gifts before the 10 hour solo drive home. WRX would have been fun on that trip!!
LOL! No, no! I can't! Honest!
