    Hi All,
After test driving many cars it was down to the 330i , G35 and Passat W8. Needless to say the G35 will be in my garage, hopefully by end of Sept 02. We'll see how that paans out, based on some posts I've seen here it may take a little longer bu it sworth the wait.

    Emerald Mist
    Willow Leather
    Premuim (P01)
    Aero Pkg (R01)
    Susp Pkg (T01)
    Nav (U01)
    Sunroof (J01)
    Xenon (N01)

Any other owners in Central FL? We should get together sometime. Well, maybe we can wait until I actually get the G. I'm jumping the gun but I can't help myself. I currently drive a 93 Pontiac Transport Van so you can probubly understand. In this case "They don't build excitement" LOL.

Gary -- what kind of deal did you get and from what dealer? Are they coming off MSRP at all? Am looking to buy soon but refuse to pay MSRP. Live in Orlando, but will go out of state if I have to.

I just got my G35 August 3. I LOVE IT!

It is twighlight blue (gorgeous!), Leather with the 17" 6 spoke wheels, Bose 6 CD changer stereo and sunroof. I got it for about $30,600 and it was demo. He knocked a little over $2,000 off for that. I may have been able to do better elsewhere, but this Infiniti dealer was 90 miles away from my home. There is no Infiniti dealer (yet) where I live here in Myrtle Beach. They only had a 5-8 left on their premises, so I went ahead and got it since it had everything I wanted.

I got my G35 last night! It is a sweet car! Love it! Only thing I couldn't get was the Winter package(full size rear)... But that's okay, I live in Texas and our Winter lasts only about a week. I think I can live with that :)

Well hello there! After reading over 6000 posts on the car in various forums, I finally pulled the trigger last weekend and bought my G. I live in Washington D.C. and had called Michael in New York for a deal on the car. He told me that he would have to do a locate and swap for my car but it could be done. I told him I knew of a dealer in Atlanta that had my car. He gave me his price and told me to take it to them and see if they would honor it. Well, long story short, they did. I flew down last Friday, picked it up on Saturday and drove it home Sunday. What a blast! Here are my specs:
    Twilight Blue
    Willow Leather
    Premium Package
    Sunroof
    Winter Package
    Xenons
Extended Wood Package (covers most of the console)
Environmental Package(pure bull, but you know how it goes)
    Lo-Jack ($505)
    and Wheel Locks
All for approximately $33,800. I'd say I did well considering the sticker on the car was over $$36,000. Any other Washington D.C. owners out there that would like to get together, please feel free to email me at mbrodie1@hotmail.com and maybe we can get a group together and compare cars.

Ewang1, where in Dallas are ya? Another Plano resident here, had my G-35 for almost 4 months now and loving it. I'm actually taking it in for it's first oil change tomorrow. I'm beginning to see more and more G-35's around the area so welcome to the club. Mine is silver, prem. pack, winter, leather, wood, sunroof, xenons, Lo-jack, and a nice little silver longhorn on the back!! See ya around.........

    Hi everyone,

I traded in my '00 Maxima SE for the G almost two weeks ago, and absolutely love my car! Ivory pearl with willow leather, sunroof and Bose. Bought it from Henry at Infiniti of Norwood (MA), he was professional, fair and laid-back. All around great experience. Have I mentioned that I love my car? ;)

Im about to purchase my G35 if this is a good deal.

The car: Silver, graphite leather int, sport pkg, premium pkg, aero pkg. Fully loaded without Navigation.

    MSRP is 34,740.

The guy offered me 33,000 which is 1740 off MSRP but adding tax tags, processing fee, and freight it comes out to 35,133. Is this a good deal? I am going to try to take off the processing fee which is an additional 238. Also, maybe deal the car down a bit too.

Hi everyone. Picked up my new G last Wednesday with the following specs:

    Brilliant Silver
    Graphite leather interior
Premium Package (including sunroof and Bose sound)
    Winter Package
    Sport package
    Xenon headlights

I got it for 1965 under MSRP. Took it for a trip up to Boston from New York and the car is just a joy to drive in all respects. I love how the car just begs to explode even with the slightest input on the accelerator. I'm 1/2 way through the break-in period (600 miles), and I can't wait till I reach 1200 so I can open it up over 4000 RPM in 5th gear and really test it out! Going upstate for a trip to Niagara falls this weekend, so I won't have to wait long.
  • cheerioboy26cheerioboy26 Member Posts: 412
not a bad deal. most I've seen reported is 2000 off MSRP.
  • madmonkaymadmonkay Member Posts: 12
    Im officially a G35 member!

Got my G fully loaded silver exterior, graphite interior, premium, winter, sport pkg for 32,445!

Im glad I bickered with the dealer to the very end. Also, got 2 years of free oil changes from them.

I just got it last weekend. I love driving my car. I cant wait to get off of work to continue driving!!!

What? you got it for under $20K? What a deal....
  • johnv43johnv43 Member Posts: 9
I picked up my new G35 on Saturday from Infiniti of Lisle. What sold me was a test drive in the rain a couple of days prior, the handling was amazing, even when driven hard. Got a black/graphite with premium, winter, wood package, and trunk mat. Moonroof is now part of the premium package, and Xenons are standard on the Leather model. MSRP = 34,335. Can't wait for that first road trip next spring!
  • nycarbuyernycarbuyer Member Posts: 23
edvankwok: "What? you got it for under $20K? What a deal.... "

Huh? MSRP on my car was 34,190. I paid 32,225.
A total of 1,965 (One thousand nine hundred sixty five) under MSRP. I think you may have misread my 1965 as nineteen thousand something.

johnv43: Welcome to the club. You are buying at a good time. A lot of the early glitches and defects have been worked out from those who purchased in the first few months - the guinnea pigs as I like to think of them. :-) I'm sure you will be completely happy with your purchase. Just watch your speed, this car is hard to keep under 80 and lots of people have commented on their speeding tickets (regrettably, myself included).

Picked up new G35 this week after 15 years of Volvos. I got rid of an S80 for the G35 sedan. The car is red, willow, premium, wood, winter, and sunroof. The car is great fun to drive. My wife still drives a Volvo but has fallen in love with the Infiniti.
  • maxima5maxima5 Member Posts: 2
I bought my G35 in July, its a emerald green with wood, leather, xenon. Believe it or not I sold my 1999 Q45T to buy it. I have no regrets at all. The G handles, accelerates, brakes like the best sport sedans I've driven, and for the money you can't beat it. The only car that I know that's better in all categories is the BMW 540 for 15k more.
  • besslingbessling Member Posts: 7
I bought my G35 Nov 21st of this year and absolutely love it. I can't help to accelerate coming off a stoplight. I feel like a teenager still wanting to race someone off the line.
  • ryokenryoken Member Posts: 291
I bought my G35 Sedan on Dec 9. Desert Platinum/Graphite, Premium, Sport, Aero, Nav, Winter (and the ubiquitous trunk mat). They found a match on a boat, scheduled to arrive "in about 10 days." Talked to the salesman this morning, and it's officially on the ground at the port today, and should be at the dealership tomorrow or Monday. Tick, tock, tick, tock....
  • ryokenryoken Member Posts: 291
....and as off this evening, it's all mine. :)
  • berman2921berman2921 Member Posts: 36
Picked up mine on Dec. 31 for 32K. G35 sedan with leather, platinum desert, willow interior, premium, winter, wood, mats. Tried hard to get it for 31.5 but to no avail. Happy so far except that the ride is too stiff at low speed.
  • ryokenryoken Member Posts: 291
So don't run around at low speed and it won't be stiff. They're called "speed" bumps, after all... :)

Hi! I'm Anne from Richmond and I bought my G35 sedan on Dec 13th of 2002 from Passport Infinity in Alexandria, VA. It is Brilliant Silver with Graphite Leather, sport package, winter sport package, premium package and OEM aero package. It has 620 miles on it and I've enjoyed each mile!
  • cheerioboy26cheerioboy26 Member Posts: 412
from a fellow NoVa resident! I bought my G in May (del. in June) from Coleman - avoided Rosenthal due to reputation and personal experience. How was Passport? I know they are new - more competition should be better for everyone! matt.
  • slasher617slasher617 Member Posts: 39
I'm also living in NoVa but I didn't buy my car in the area. I can tell you, Cheerio, Rosenthal is two blocks from my house and I still go to Coleman for my service because Rosenthal tried to play games and do a bait a switch on more than one occasion. I hope are both enjoying your cars.

We had a really good experience with Passport. The deal was made in about 2 hours and they accepted our second offer! Of course it was a rainy Friday the week after slow sales due to the snow and ice. We ended up being their 53rd customer. They were really patient. To finish the paper work, we stayed until 10pm on Friday. The car was picked up on Saturday. We ended up returning fairly soon, because we had trouble finding a dealer to accept our Bank One leased Avalon. They were friendly each time we passed through their doors. Although they are about 2 hours from Richmond, I usually travel to DC about once a month and will try to do my service with Passport. --Anne

just curious as to why you had to go all the way to North VA. Did you shop infiniti richmond. I'm planning on a vehicle purchase and hence need some advice. Any good or bad experiences from richmond, VA. thanks
  • rocketgirlrocketgirl Member Posts: 11
    PSRINIV:

We went to Passport because they had the car I wanted. Richmond Infinity didn't have it on the lot nor was it listed to come in any time soon. Joe at Richmond was a nice guy and spent some time with us as I test drove the G35 and the I(or J?)30.

My husband found the car by going to Infinity's website and doing a search for a car within 150 miles of our zip code.

I have no opinion, good or bad, about Richmond Infinity.

    To all g35 owners.
I heard complaints about rattling and vibrations coming from different places in the new cars.
Need to know if Owners with leather package optin have the same experience.

Picked up new blue sedan 1/21. I find manual rather disconcerting. Car is great, however. It's got aero kit, premium package, sport package, winter package, etc.
  • maxima4maxima4 Member Posts: 74
You stated "I find manual rather disconcerting".

Can you be more specific as to what is "disconcerting" about the transmission? Just curious. Thanks
  • ryokenryoken Member Posts: 291
Manual transmission sedans aren't available quite yet. I think aliveatfive is referring to the rather mediocre Owner's Manual that doesn't do a good job of explaining the car's features. You did read yours, right? :)
  • aliveatfivealiveatfive Member Posts: 2
I was, of course, referring to the booklet that came with the car. There are redundancies and a lack of sufficient explanation on some topics. The navigation system pamphlet is also no model of brevity.

I'm purchasing a G35 Black/Graphite, Premium, Nav, Wood, Winter Pkg, (SR, Xenon, big Bose-Std). They did a great job with my deal so far. They have 20+ G's onsite, but no Black w/ Nav. Don and Chris did a great job of finding it, and DX'ing it in. On top of that I got a respectable price on my trade and a the same on the G35.

I would have drove to DC too if they didn't hit the ground running trying to get my car. From the time I told them I was serious about the G35 until it hit their floor was 24hrs. We came to an agreement on price in 10 minutes. I will take delivery Friday afternoon if the weather isn't too bad. All in all, a nice transaction to date.

    Cheers,
    Don

Does anyone know what if any changes may be coming on the 04 coupe? I'm particulary interested in any changes that may be made to the interior.
  • psrinivpsriniv Member Posts: 41
Congrats on your purchase. Thats an excellent combination of options. would you mind giving us a info as to how much you are paying for it.
    thanks.
  • don725don725 Member Posts: 47
Well, everything went off with out a hitch. I took delivery of my Black G35 Friday afternoon. Man this car has a lot of POWER!! The black on black looks great too! I'm taking it in to a custom shop here in Richmond to get that invisible 3M bra put on it. It will cover the front of the hood, fenders, bumper and headlights. They will also cover the backs of the side mirrors and put some in the wells of the door handles to protect from ring and nail scratches. I'll let you all know how that goes. I'm dropping it off Tuesday afternoon and renting a car for a day.

Now to answer your question. The 2003.5 G35 w/ Premium, winter, nav, wood & trunk mat (SR,xenon, big bose--STD) MSRP'ed @ 36,335, I said I would pay 34k, they came back w/ close to 35k, I said OK, $34,500, they paused and said we can do that. Mind you, when I was younger I would have gone for every penny. I also received a fair price for my Lexus trade.

I'm very happy with the purchase experience at Richmond Infiniti. Nice people! This car is tight, fast and fun. No squeaks, rattles, breaks don't grab, throttle isn't touchy. I tell you what, when you want to go fast this thing is a LAND BOMB!

    Cheers,
    Don

the invoice for your config works out to be about $32,768. What you've paid works out to about $1730 above invoice. I'd say thats not a bad price, considering the market around the richmond area, since they are the only dealers around. Were you given a tour of the service facilitties and the weekend free car washes.

Enjoy your ride and feel what an infiniti is like. Since you said, you've traded in a lexus, do you feel more energetic driving the G.
Are you trying to get the invisible bra put on at CARRS in richmond. I hear they are the best, but a little pricey. I believe they have cistomers coming all the way from maryland to get it done here.

    btw, i'm in richmond.

Thanks for the info and enjoy the G.
  • don725don725 Member Posts: 47
Yep, I figured out the invoice before I arrived to negotiate. I'm in sales/distribution too. I'm not going to begrudge them a profit. As I said in one of my posts to another G35 conference, a good deal is relative. I'm happy with it. I'm not going to single handedly keep them in business, but their profitablity is directly related to their capacity to service me. I like the convenience of having loaners, etc.

I really liked my Lexus RX300, but It was pretty tame. My friends laugh every time I get a new vehicle. I tell them that I will drive one of everything before I die, except a Yugo!....the running joke....

I dropped my car off at Contours Detailing. They are a couple blocks west of Infiniti of Richmond, across the street from the ABC store. This place was recommended by one of the sales reps @ Infiniti who is having his G35 coupe done...3M invisible shield, that is.

They (Infiniti) did give me a tour and I met everyone there on Friday, heck, I made them deliver the G in the show room so I could put a coat of Zaino on it before I drove it home. Pretty funny, here I am polishing the car while they are conducting business. Everyone walked out and talked to me, I met a few Zaino users. I really had a great time buying/picking up this car. I think they got a kick out of it too.

    Later,
    Don

I am picking up my G35 Sedan 5AT next Sat. 2/22/03. I was going to hold out for the 6MT Sedan, but the waiting list was way to long and I knew they weren't going to budge on price.

Anyway, I got a Garnet Fire with Premium/Aero/ Winter Pac Sport/ Sports Suspension/ Trunk Mat/ Wheel Locks and NAV for just over 36K which included state sales tax.

I bought it at Masapequa (sp) Infiniti on Long Island over the internet. It was one of the best car buying experiences I ever had. Bart was my salesperson. I recommend him highly!! If anyone would like his information just send me an e-mail at Yukonhawk@yahoo.com

Can't wait to hit the road with this machine. :-)

Thanks to everyone here on the message boards who gave great advice! From time to time I will contribute my experiences good and bad. (I'm sure they will be all good :-)

Hello All! I picked up my fully loaded Silver G a couple of weeks ago. Full aero dressed with body color matched side skirts/air damn/spoiler etc. The Nav is the best thing I ever did. The wood package gives the graphite a nice touch. Premium/winter/zenon/full spare/Bose, etc. All but the sports suspension, as I found the ride too harsh. Paid $1100 under sticker due to the salesman quoting me on the wrong car (one without the nav), otherwise it would have been sticker. Once they realized the error, the tried to hit me with the full $2,000 adder, but I started to walk away. We re-negotiated at $900. I love THIS CAR! 2000 miles on the clock so far. The dealer notified me of a recall on the headlight assembly and immediately repaired it, otherwise no problems.

I think you need someone from Iowa!:)
I recently (last week) leased an Obsidion Black /Charcoal leather G35 6MT with the Premium, Winter, and Aero packages. So far I have 550 miles on the odo (650 to go!). I love the responsiveness of the car. While the car is very composed, balanced, and quiet in most situations (particularly at speed), the ride gets jittery on some road surfaces and there is excessive road noise in some others. I think these are functions of the surface, suspension, and the Bridgestone tires -- I have had similar experiences in the past with sport suspensions and Bridgestone V Rated tires. Overall, though, I am very pleased with the car's performance and comfort. As has been pointed out by others, the owner's manual also leaves substantial room for improvement!:)
Nevertheless, I am very happy to join this owners' club -- perhaps the first from Iowa, and the first with the MT on this board?

  • knr5knr5 Member Posts: 85
I just wanted to correct a factual error in my previous post -- the tires are Goodyear Eagle RSAs, not Bridgestones. I had Bridgestone Potenzas on my 1993 Camry SE (5 speed MT), and Goodyear Eagle RSAs on my 1998 Maxima SE. Both handle well but are somewhat noisy on some types of roads.

I am deciding between a G35 sedan and waiting for the new Acura TL type S. I live in Minnesota so the rear-wheel drive on the Infiniti makes my nervous. Has anyone had good/bad driving experience with their G35s? thanks in advance.
  • cheerioboy26cheerioboy26 Member Posts: 412
Well, I live in DC and we received 50" of snow this year, about twice normal. I had no problems, but then again I didn't go out driving in the plowable snows of 4-6" +. (and I would;nt be out on the roads then no matter what carI owned.) I drove with an inch or two on the ground and did fine. In MN you may have to drive in more snow. If you're considering waiting for the new TL, you may then consider waiting for the AWD sedan, which is supposed to arrive in December (not sure if this is a production date or availablility date though).
  • effinponderouseffinponderous Member Posts: 14
You're about the 5th person listing that as a complaint. From what I understand, the ride is significantly different than that of the Bridgestones. I read everal times that the dealer will replace the Eagles with the Bridgestones if you complain. Good luck!

Got my G35 sedan 6MT with Premium package and Spoiler, couple of weeks ago. Sweet car. I love the short throw six speed, the clutch was a little sensitive in the beginning (wondering if anybody else felt that with the sedan) but i got used to it now.

Used to drive a 93 Nissan 300Z, nice car too. But not missing it too much with the G now.
