Not sure about that....it could be the case I suppose. I am in california and did the multiple deposits, however I was also going from one Infiniti to another. Ask them to show you exactly where it says that in their little IFS handbook. The place I went to for my car had no problems showing me the exact rules IFS states for calculating the multi-deposits when I had a question about it.

Was it a Sport model or just a Journey? the sport model definitely has firmer seats and a tighter fit due to the side bolsters. Personally I prefer that....although on a recent long drive (4+ hours) I really noticed that the sport seats weren't meant for long distance travel ;)

Go to the Edmunds home page and look for your vehicle. It has all of the invoice prices listed for whatever options you choose...it is very simple.

    Hi All,

    I just got a quote on a G35 Coupe 6 MT with
    Premium Package
    Aero Package
    Painted Splash Guards
    Body Side Molding
    Trunk Mat.

He gave me the MSRP as 38,300 and after some bargaining this is the final deal that I am getting ...

4000 Down Payment + My Trade (2002 Honda Civic LX Sedan - 49000 miles) - valued at 6500 (Is tht good enuff ?) + 1.9% APR for 6 months ... which comes to $480/Month ... (including taxes)

Do you think thats a good deal on the Coupe ?

Appreciate your feedback ... Thanks !

Just got a price quote from dealer who has 57 2007 coupes in stock of 35995 + tax for a auto, aero, sport and premium package. Sticker price is 39165. I'm not impressed. Should I be?

    Thanks
  • carexpert08carexpert08 Member Posts: 78
In my opinion you can do better by about 40-50 dollars a month in the overall. If you read a few posts up i posted my deal. This is without sport package so figure another roughly 20 on top of the monthly. Then again this is only possible if you are willing to travel. Hope I helped.

Does this guy have 6 speed manual coupes too ? Do you know ?

    Thanks ...

I do not buy cars that often. Just recd. the quotes from 2 dealers. They are selling the car G35 coupe at the invoice price. Am i missing something or is it a trap?

I got a quote for G35 auto with prem pkg and nav. for 35,761 (incl. destination charge). ???

The wife bought a slate blue awd g35 today and beat up the sales staff in the process(she's a sales director for a pharm. company) AWD, premium package, nav package, tech package, rosewood trim pkg, msrp 40,765 invoice 37,235 she signed on the dotted line at 37,435 using her company's car program and another dealer that offers deep discounts to her company employees as leverage.
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
37,435 is a good price if it were OTD.... if not she should have used a wee bit more leverage.

    Hey Fuzzynips,

I am new to the forum but have been intrigued by the infiniti G35x (gonna get that or a subaru legacy). I have been following your posts and contacted Hoffman Estates. They said the best deal they could give was 36,650 for a g35x with premium and wood trim. Are you buying yours right out? Leasing/financing or trading in? I am looking for a cash deal and was shocked that that was the best they could do. Would you be able to give me name of the salesman you spoke with? In fact I would love to get a copy of that quote if possible.

Hi all, just wondering...is there any financial penalty to special-ordering your car? Just from a common sense viewpoint, does it fatally compromise your ability to bargain? Thanks.
  • scottm123scottm123 Member Posts: 1,501
Some dealers offer end of year incentives for vehicles that are currently in stock.
Other than that, I came across no penalties at all.
We discussed price FIRST and then after we both knew exactly what I wanted and what I would pay for it, we then worked on finding it.
It turned out to be an order from the factory and the price did not change at all.

I don't know how much this helps, but I recently got quoted 36,600 for a G35x with Premium and Navigation, with the cargo net and splash guards also. The other two dealerships around here (Boston Area) wouldn't go lower than 38k, but I have yet to call them back to negotiate since I am waiting till December to buy.

    I just got a quote on a G35 Coupe 6 MT with
Premium, Aero, NAV, RAS, Painted Splash Guards, Body Side Molding & Trunk Mat at Invoice - 37643 + Destination ...

Is that good enuff, or can I negotiate more ... Wat are the prices others are getting now ?

This deal of 1.9% APR which is on now - is it a standard deal .. or something which we should try and not miss ???

    Thanks.

Anyone recently got a purchase quote on G35X with premium, cargo net and splash guard from Herb Chambers in Boston? Please share some info, thanks a lot!
  • scottm123scottm123 Member Posts: 1,501
Personally, I despise Herb Chambers and his group of thugs.
Head down to Warwick, RI and hit Inskip instead.
Their stock is fantastic and they'll have every color and interior to see in person.... and they treat you with respect, which I could never say of any Herb Chambers dealership I have ever visited.

    Hope your visit goes better.
    Good luck.

    Hi guys,

I received the following quote for a G35 Coupe (Automatic, Premium, Sport, Aero, Trunk Mat, Body Side Mouldings, Painted Spash Guards, I think)

    Invoice: $36,117
Quote: $36,390, inclusive of all fees except sales tax and DMV fees

This seems pretty good to me, what do you guys think?

    Hi guys,

I have to buy a g35 journey with prem, nav and tech. package ASAP. Any suggestions /quotes from southern california dealers would be great??

    Please let me know.....thanks,
  • sprinkler13sprinkler13 Member Posts: 455
How much are they selling you the car for? You gave us the MSRP but not the agreed upon cost. The coupes should be at around invoice or less now. How many months is the loan for. You are missing too much important info. What does the down payment cover (i.e. fees, acq. cost, etc.)?
  • sprinkler13sprinkler13 Member Posts: 455
The destination should already be factored into the invoice price. The Acquisition fee of $595 is not, but if they try to add $715 for a destination on top of the acquisition fee I'd tell them to take a hike. That's $715 pure profit they are trying to squeeze out of you.
  • sweendogysweendogy Member Posts: 1,310
I bot a G35x from prime infiniti in hanover-- its a little out of the way but they will give you a price on the phone and will tell you what your trade (if need be). There selection may not be the best but they will get you the car if need be. I paided 700 over invoice and got a great deal on my trade.. For service i've gone to HerbChambers and they seem to have there stuff together - loaner and shuttle bus

I am in South Fla. Any thoughts anyone?

how much do yall expect the 2005 or 2006 g35 coupes to drop when the g37 drops?

fwiw, i wouldn't rush to buy a new g35 coupe right now as you might be able to score one under invoice in august. regardless, the depreciation will be huge as soon as u drive it off the lot with the arrival of the g37.

is hoping to get a 05 or 06 g35 coupe in november for 25k unrealistic? i just want a auto with sports package and the supply is not low in houston.

I was doing a search online and found several NEW (not demos- 200ish miles on each) 2006 G35's. One has premium package B (silver/black) and the other has premium package C and navigation (navy/tan). Both have the sport package.

MSRP is just over 36,000 and 37,500 for each car respectively . I know that Edmunds lists $3,000 manufacturer to dealer cash on '06 G35's. I felt that the online price quotes I received were ridiculous (4,700 off MSRP on the non nav and 3,000 off MSRP on the nav equipped model).
What would you consider a fair price considering the depreciation hit the car would take the second it leaves the lot?

I think that at least $8,000 off would be fair all things considered. Is that too much to expect? I know people were getting more than $5k off last december!

Here is the direct offer from their email:

Stock # I60453 has an MSRP of $36,659.00 we will sell this vehicle for $31,904.00 + taxes + tag + doc fees.

Stock #I60350 has an MSRP of $37,799.00 we will sell this vehicle for $34,586.00 +taxes + tag + doc fees.

dude, if you wanna get a used g35 just wait til after the g37 drops. thats what i plan on doing. i think i can get one for 25-27k for a 05 or 06 one
  • stewdystewdy Member Posts: 17
Sorry, these are sedans, not coupes. I'd think that with the newly styled G35 out that these would already be in that price range...
  • dwynnedwynne Member Posts: 4,018
For a used one? I would say the odds are in your favor. The #1 buyer and leaser of the G37 is likely to be G35 coupe owners so a lot more used Gs on the sales lots around town.

The bad news is that G coupes have strong resale so even a glut of them may not make the prices drop as much as you would like.

Have you considered a new G? They had a $1,500 incentive on them a month back and now have .9% to 1.9% financing on them up to 60 months. Get a car an invoice with cheap money is not a bad deal - not $25k, but pretty good.

    Dennis
  • dwynnedwynne Member Posts: 4,018
That sounds pretty good. The only way (without dealer add-ons) to get the MSRP over $41k is to add the spoiler and every other options to it. Based on just what you list, the MSRP should be $40,415 with and invoice of $36,774. Easy enough to check, look at the actual window sticker.

How much of the $1,500 is going to cap cost reduction? At $36,110 net you are $664 under invoice and we know 1st month is $527 and bank fee is $595 = $1,122. So it sounds like a hot deal to me - on the price of the car.

I would try to find a car without the active steer - it is (IMHO) a waste of the $1,300 or so at invoice and not needed. Your payment might drop $35 or so a month without that option. Of course, they may be making you this nice price because they have trouble selling this loaded up car and would not make such a nice deal on a less expensive one.

Get the lease money factor to make sure they didn't mark it up on you.

    Dennis
  • angelus1angelus1 Member Posts: 23
no, because then it will cost me 35k and out of my price range. i dont want to spend more 26k on my next car.

plus, the depreciation on a new g35 coupe will be killer once the g37 comes out
  • dwynnedwynne Member Posts: 4,018
The 07 sedans are head and shoulders above the old ones, I would get a new 07 or 08 and not mess with the 06 left overs.

If you do, I would make them give it to you for invoice less incentive less 100% of hold back and no dealer fee. Anything more would be a rip-off price - and even at that price may not be a good deal for a right at 2 year old model.

Thanks, Dennis, you are right, after relooking MSRP is $40,238. None of the 1500 is for Cap cost. It's just going to 1st month, Bank Fee, Tax, Title, Tag and what ever else the manager can think of to get to $1,500.00. They wanted to sell me the car at $37,500, but when we did the numbers that was about 2k over invoice. ( I originally did not want the Trunk Mat, splash guards and rear wheel steering) I told them that the car would be considered a year old in about 1 month once the '08's come out and no way were they doing me like that. So the sale guy tells me that they have this loaded one coming in in a week.I said he could add the splash gurads and trunk mat in the retail price but had to throw in the rear steering. I had my Edmunds print out and invoice was about $35,600 or so. I told him 500 max over that was my limit. My numbers on a lease were about 557/mo with the tax. I didn't think they would do it but the sales manager signed off on it. I insited he give it to me in writing.I also thought that they didn't want this car on the lot that long with the 2008's coming in soon. MF was about .00195 or so. Anyway I am downsizing from a BMW M-3 convertible which was running almost a grand a month so I am looking to book some cheese, with a car that still moves when you hit the gas. thanks for the input.

If they have one with Nav and Tech packages for that price its a great deal. If not you should be in 400's on your payment.

Im looking for a 07' G35 Coupe, Automatic, Black on Black, Premium 18" Wheels, Premium system and XM radio. Anyone care to chime in? Any help is appreciated.
  • dwynnedwynne Member Posts: 4,018
Look here on Edmunds and find the invoice for a coupe with that equipment. That should be the max you should pay for the car and including the dealer fee and destination.

Note the 0.9% to 1.9% financing available on the coupes right now. For cash customers, the $1,500 dealer incentive that they had last month made for a better deal - but it is gone.

I'm looking to buy a G35 sedan with the premium package, and here's what one Houston dealer is quoting me with VPP Plan D:

    2007 G35 JOURNEY 4DR AUTO

    K52-W
    BLU
    BLUE SLATE, STONE

    BASE
    $31,900

    CGO
    $50
    TRUNK CARGO NET

    PRM
    $2,350
    PREMIUM PACKAGE

    SGD
    $150
    SPLSH GRDS NONSPT

    SRX
    $300
    XM SATELLITE

    TIR
    $400
    TIRE & WHEEL PKG

    50S
    $0
    50 STATE EMISSION

    Freight Charge
    $715

    Total
    $35,865

Looks straightforward to me, and there doesn't appear to be any doc fee or superfluous charges. I might be satisfied with this if I can keep myself from reading other people's adoring posts about the X. :P I don't know much about leasing, so I'm hoping I shouldn't be comparing my quote too closely with the G35X with premium that marcalan4 told us about yesterday!

Oh, and do we have to pay $300 for satellite???
  • dwynnedwynne Member Posts: 4,018
The VPP price formula is posted on the inside nissan web page so you can figure your price to the penny for yourself. In addition, once you give the dealer the VPP claim code they are supposed to show you the invoice with the VPP price on it. So not much room for them to fudge the prices.

In addition, the amount for a sedan with normal equipments ends up around $275 over invoice. So look here on Edmunds, KBB, carsdirect.com, etc and "build" the car with the same options and see what invoice is, then add the $275 and see how that compares to your price.

Find a car that does not have the $300 sat option on it and you don't have to pay for it. You are actually paying $259 + the VPP percentage for it and not the full $300. You do get 3 months free with the car. I think if you tried it you would like it. Normally, at the end of the free time if you call XM and say "I like it but $13 a month is just too much money I am going to cancel the service" they will give you a year for $75 to keep you a customer :D

  • aggiebc99aggiebc99 Member Posts: 6
Is there anyway of getting a VPP claim code, or do you have to work for a company that participates in this program?

I am looking at a G35, and would love to get any break possible!!
