Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum
I was also dismayed at the quotes I received for a 36 month/15,000 mile lease (about $670/month before tax and tags). These monthly payments reflect the 48% residual (nonnegotiable since it is sent by Honda Finance Corp) and a money factor of 0.001780. Honda is not currently offering enticing lease incentives on the MDX other than the base model.
The $499 base model lease offer benefits from a $2,605 cap cost reduction offered by Honda.
2009 MDX - $35,800+TTL
2009 MDX Technology Package - $39,300+TTL
2009 MDX Technology & Entertainment Package - $40,850+TTL
2009 MDX Sport Package - $41,150+TTL
This was without any haggling. I'm still trying to find an 08, but stock is getting real low, I got a laughable quote for an 08 Sport w/PTG at 42k!?!, I told the idiot dealer I could get an 09 for 1k cheaper... I guess some dealers are still in lala land.
Good luck
Were these quotes before the $2,000 rebate? Before holdback or destination as well? I am searching for the lowest price and those you quoted in CA are the lowest I've seen. Houston/Beaumont TX are still saying $44K+ on 09' tech and ent packages. Buying this weekend and need some great info. Thanks. What do you think is a fair offer? Of course, in least benifit of the dealer. Appreciate the insight!
We currently lease a 2006 MDX which comes to term in February. Do you think this is a good time to deal or do you think we should hold out and see if the market and incentives get any sweeter?
09 MDX with Tech: 38.6k
09 MDX with Tech and Ent: 40.2k
Of course these are just initial quotes, so there could be some hidden fees and costs.
Good luck.
Can someone point me to a dealer with one in stock?
I'm in South Florida and can't find one down here. There are plenty of 09's but I'm looking to save some money.
Thanks,
Brien
Is there any way for me to search a database of dealer inventory to figure this out?
Other manufacturers let you do this from their website (eg Mazda), but I can't seem to find something similar for Acura.
Do I have to resort to calling 50 dealers individually to ask them?
Thanks,
Brien
If one replies they have one, you can make your deal over without even talking to them, (unless there is a trade involved) Click back thru recent post and you will see prices people are paying for 2008 and pick up some other tips. Good Luck.
Just picked up a new 08 MDX Tech w/PTG from Weir Canyon Acura in Anaheim/Yorba Linda in the OC yesterday. Drove down from the Westside because they gave me the best deal I could find and didn't play games. Got the car for $35.8 + TTL. They still have another identical car steel blue with ebony interior left. Josh Yoon was my salesman, very straight forward and friendly guy.
Got a verbal offer for $10k under MSRP from Keyes Acura last weekend but then later in the week they tried to bait and switch me, very unprofessional. They still have 3 base 08s left. They have overpriced dealer addons (body molding, wheel locks, etc) but you may be able to talk them down.
Glendale Acura has a blue one left but with expensive pimped out rims and wheel locks they can't take off. Judi Colton was friendly and accomodating over e-mail and the phone. Gold Coast Acura has several 08s left but couldn't beat Weir's price. Thomas Acura in Covina had an 08 Tech with PTG, black on black, but also with "Pro Package" (splash guards and wheel locks), their best price was $36.9 + TTL. Mike Shroeder was very reasonable over e-mail.
This forum has been very helpful in my hunt, thanks to everyone that has contributed. Good luck if you're still hunting for an 08 MDX in the LA area.
I had the following quote for a 2009 MDX with Tech:
MSRP: $45,600
Invoice: $41,500
Negotiated price: $39,000 (include $2,000 of cash rebate)
APR: 2.9%
Is it a good deal?
Thanks
$36k
includes:
Running boards
side molding
all weather mats
cargo mat
BTW - which is more useful the cargo mat or the cargo tray?
Thanks
2009 w/Tech and dual headrest DVD installed ($1880 option) + wheel locks for $41,239. That quote includes doc and process fees. So $41,239 + TTL. Opted for those DVD's instead since I have 2 kids that won't watch the same thing. Watch out for the nitrogen tire servicing option for $315! It is a bogus piece of garbage. When has anyone put that in cars? I'm an aircraft mechanic and I know nitrogen goes in high PSI aircraft tires, not cars! It also doesn't help with wear and PSI loss.
How will dual DVD installation affect your warranty?
Also nitrogen in the cars is fairly commen..atleast in Southern Cali...If you buy tires from costco they alway put Nitrogen..Since nitrogen molecules are bigger they tires retain pressure longer
Having said that I would not pay a dime for nitrogen service
We don't need the car now since I can just sell my S40 and drive my fiance's TL until next year but is this offer too good to pass up? Will I see something similiar next year around September? Thanks for any information!
Last month, I bought a 08 MDX for $32,700 plus dest, tax, and tags. Blue steel exterior with gray interior. Also got the 2.9% financing special. Got other quotes for above 33K from other dealers. Purchased from Rosenthal Acura in Rockville, MD (Washington DC suburb). I think I did very well considering the market. What are your thoughts?
2009 MDX Sport, MSRP $47,700, Invoice $43,407, Offer: $41,000
This is in Boston. Should I do better?
Thanks,
Alex
So...hunting around for the 2009 model...the best deal I've gotten has been $39k even. Not bad since most have been around 39.6 our much higher. Anyone else get a better quote? (im in the los angeles area)
I'm not in a big hurry, but do you think prices would be better if I'd wait? Maybe the latest I could wait would be March.
Running boards
side molding
all weather mats
cargo tray
$36.4k - which I think is a fair price.
This forum as been very helpful, thanks to all.
Good Luck.
Your responses are appreciated.
Thanks,
Gentoo
1st question, probably nobody knows the answer.
2nd question, yes you can. You will pay your AZ tax/license the same as you buy in AZ. Either you pay extra ~500 or less to transport the car, even you don't need to come to CA in person if you can make decision over the phone/fax or internet. Or you come to CA and drive it back.
Good luck.
Just ask for the price you think it's fair on the market. If it's not acceptable, you can talk with the next one.
I do not want to post names on this forum, but it sounds like you are heading down the same path. But, you may be luckier and the deal may turn out to be smoother. Good luck!
Thanks for your help.
