I was at Radley this weekend and they didnt want to budge on this number even though I used your deal as a comp. They said they would match the deal if I gave them your real name. Can you shoot me an email - bigcb37 at hotmail.com Thanks!
A couple of weeks ago one guy bought the same car as yours at the same dealer. As I remembered, he (or she) got a price of $34,500. Did you negotiate with the salesman hardly?
Cbusireddy, I worked on Spt +DVD numbers because most of delers don't have the Tech model of color combination I am looking for. You could get very close to 7K off MSRP. But all other trims you could only get 6K off.
I got an offer $$36,012.00 base model and $39,685 w/tech. Is this a good offer? I am assuming it include the destination charge. Do you guys think there is more reduction?
I just wrecked my 6 mo old MDX and they wouldn't total it out.
Looking to get a 2009 BASE model and wondering what the going price is... I was figuring something around 35K Drive Out since I got my 2008's 6 months ago for 33 and 34k each
I was just wondering why you think you should pay 35k for the base now when you got them for 33k and 34k back in 08, doesn't the economy now should lower the price even more?
Consumer reports online states that the MDX incentive is now $2500; anyone else hear whether the incentive has been bumped from $2000 to $2500? Car Man or kyfdx? Thanks.
I went to a dealer yesterday and they added a $350 fees to final quote. They call it ADAG (couldn't even clearly spell what it stands for). Seems like this is the national advertising fees that some dealers have started charging lately. Does anybody know more about these fees? Has anybody paid them on a 2009 MDX? Are these Acura standard fees or some imaginary fees that some dealers cook up? Appreciate your advice.
Hi amcdad When does the new incentive expire? The $2000 one is supposed to end 6/1. Also what region do you live in? (wondering if it might be regional?) I've been looking for a Sport / RES for a while and can't seem to get anyone to go below mid $43k.
Fyi the CR reports expire after x days - You might want to save it locally.
Well, back in 08 the price of a gallon of gas was $4 now it is $2.5. Plus today Acura is controlling production of the MDX. And believe it or not the cars are flying off the lot. Go figure.
Hi all...New here - I am buying a car for my wife - she has had a number of mini-vans for 14 years so it is time for something new. We drove the SRX, Enclave, XC90 and finally the MDX which she likes the most. That said we are looking for a base model with Nav. I purchased the online costs for the $14.00 and found that they list the dealer cost to start negotiating at is $37,800. Can anyone point me at a recent sale for approximatley that amount? Also - We are financing - rates at 3.99% - Thought or opinions please - Much Appreciated - MJM
I purchased a base for $35.5K about 6 weeks ago. Unless they have the specific color combo you are looking for and no one else has what you are looking for the price is probably a little high. I would go to acura.com, get a list of 10 dealers closest to you and call each internet sales manager and ask them for their price (if they have what you want). It took me 5 minutes on the phone to find the vehicle I wanted with a no haggle bottom line price. The key is to work directly with the internet sales manager. The dealer was half an hour away (not my closest dealer) but it was worth it to get the vehicle I wanted at the price I wanted to pay.
Hi All, I am looking to purchase a 2009 MDX Tech/Ent in Minneapolis/St Paul. Was wondering what people are seeing as good deals.
From this forum seem to be two data points: 1) Chicago has some great deals, (2) $38500 might be a good going in position when dealing with the dealer.
Any thoughts, feedback? any help would be great, thanks in advance!
I am hoping to be in a new mdx within the next couple weeks.
How did you get the $35.5? I got the local dealer offer, all are over $36000. I checked CR report, Dealer incentive is 2500. Waht price you are begin to working with the dealer? Thanks.
How did I get $35.5K? I studied this forum. Most people were stating $35.3K - $35.7K for a base MDX. It was also suggested to use the carsdirect.com minus $1000 to get your target price. Carsdirect.com was quoting $36.6K when I was shopping (about 6 weeks ago). Using those data points I set my target price at $35.3 - $35.7K.
Once I knew exactly what I wanted I started calling dealers - speaking directly to the internet managers. It took 5 minutes (I am not kidding). The second dealer I called had the vehicle I wanted and quoted me $35.5K. I told him he had a sale and a couple of hours later the papers were signed and the deal was done.
Thanks for you reply. Right now I can not even get the price under $36k. What else fee do you pay ? Could you let us know what delaer do you deal with? Thank you very much.
I got it from Weir Canyon Acura in Anaheim. You should give them a call - make sure you ask for the internet/fleet manager. It really was a good experience buying from them, a very smooth and fast transaction.
Just got a new MDX with Tech/Ent for 40,160 incl Dest +TLL plus a Roof rack with crossbars for $600 and free all weather mats.
Took a couple of days of price matching with multiple dealers in the NoVA area. Pohanka ended up giving me the best deal.
Had the option to buy with 2.9/3.9 financing for 36/60 mo. But decided to lease instead. 36 mo 15k mi a year, 46% residual, .00215 money factor. $3k down. $640/mo.
Wish the residual was better, but we dont usually own a car for more then 3 years so it made more sense to lease.
Thanks for this forum. I spent 6 months to watch all pricing discussion and negociated w/ 4 dealers in my area--north NJ. I just pick up my SPT+ENT last night from Open Road, Wayne. Strong recommend, nice sales team work from internet quote thru sales lady, thru sales manager. It's very smooth deal of 42.5K included dest and Doc. Sale manager gave me all season floor mats, wheel locks and one year oil change free. Store promotion last weekend for Lo-Jack security system to first 10 customers (695 value). Internet dept. always send you the weekly pomotion once you serious spoke w/ them.
The best thing I like is all your communication were written and printed on the hand of sale manager when you see him in person. No nonsense when you talk to him even two weeks later.
All other dealers quotes 43.2K. Some agreed to 42.3K over the phone but change back to 43K when I called back one week later. All dealers quoted "Tech" as 40.3k to 40.6k. Hey, add $2000 to get SPT+DVD---best bargin. Very solid car, super enjoy.
Hi Congratulations! Nice deal and nice car! Did you try Tech/Ent pkg? Do you know what is their price for it? I am tired looking it in New England area. If they have better deal, I could drive down to have my MDX there. If possible, could you please forward that internet sales lady's email to me? ffengf@yahoo.com. Thanks!
I ordered the Consumer Reports pricing report which states that the current incentive for the MDX is now $2,500 through 7/6/09. Yesterday I was at the Acura dealership in Baton Rouge, LA and the salesperson said the incentive was still at $2000 for the MDX, not $2,500. He said the RDX incentive was $2,500. We left without buying the car and I called Consumer Reports customer service to verify the information. They said their information came straight from the manufacturer and that they check it once it's posted for accuracy. The customer service rep said the salesperson probably wanted to hold back part of the incentive. Has anyone had confirmation from an Acura salesperson that the current incentive is now $2500?
Also, I'm getting no where near the prices I'm seeing in this forum for any of the MDX trimlines in the Louisiana/Alabama area. The best I've gotten is $42,990 for a Tech/Ent and $38,250 for a base. Has anyone had better luck in this region?
Lastly, the Edmunds TMV price for the base model in the 70115 area is $37,662. Previously I understood that this was the TMV price, but after reading the Edmunds article "10 Steps to Buying a New Car," I noticed that it said "Take the final TMV price and deduct the amount of the cash rebate. In other words, you create your best deal based on TMV, and then lower it by whatever the rebate is." Does this mean that the price for the base should be $35,662 not $37,662?
Does anyone know the dealer cash incentive for post 6/1? Dealers claim not to know.
Also, seems like there is virtually no inventory of Base MDXs in the greater NYC area. One dealer claimed that Acura is done making 2009s and that the next shipments would be the 2010s in Aug? This doesn't seem credible to me (he was trying to upsell me to a Sport) ... any insight on the last 2009 produciton date? Any reason to think more 2009 MDXs wont be arriving in June/July? Thank you
I got a quote of $38,450 plus tax, title, license plates, destination charge from a dealer yesterday in the Chicago area for an MDX with Tech package. So that is 39,210 + TTL. Anyone got anything lower in the Chicago area?
I am dealing on a Tech model in Canada. Stock is limited but dealers are still getting June dates as build dates for vechicles. As far as incentives the dealer told me current incentives would be carried into June. I believe July is the final month for building the 2009 MDX, and August production for 2010 begins.
As a follow-up to my previous post, I called again to Consumer Reports to confirm the information in their report that the current incentive for the 2009 MDX increased from $2000 to $2500 and this time the customer service rep did some checking and said that it was their error. The incentive for May 2009 is still $2000.
I got quote of $37,261 plus tax, tag and admin fee from a single dealer in 50 Miles of charlotte area. he also mentioned that demand of MDX has been increased a lot in last week that he has sold 7 of them and only 1 base model has left. So, it is ethical to have more profit on that. it is ridiculous. I will look for some other vehicle. MDX dealers are filthy. Well, all dealers are same.
Has anybody has received lower quote on Base model recently?
I got a quote for an MDX tech 39,500 including destination from Sprinfield Acura on route 22 in NJ. Beware of this dealership. When I accepted the offer, they had Nick the Sales Manager call back and say he has 2 cars at the old price and 2 at the new price. He provided the colors available and I accepted the offer again. Then came back to me again and told me the car had accessories and wanted to charge another $400 and this was the only car he had. Then they sent in Bill the GM to apologize and say it is not like I am selling air. Walked away. This dealer is one to avoid.
I did get the best price quote for Spt+Ent from Springfield but hesitate to go. I was wondering the low price to get you in. So, I didn't go but call back to speak to the same SP one week later. The price he said he recorded is the price I got plus 760 (destination). DCH is great but I didn't get the best price from them. I am very happy to buy from Open Road, Wayne. I gave Ramsey three time to bid the price offered since I am live in the area. Unfortunately, the SP I deal with is really not work hard for the price all other dealers offered. These are my experience in Northern NJ. For Long Island people, you could talk to Rally.

I am hoping to be in a new mdx within the next couple weeks.
I stopped by Goodson Acura and they did not want to go under 36 + TTL
But I believe 35.5k DO is doable if you find the right dealer so I will keep looking

I think dealers have few 09 base MDX left, and they are not going to re-stock them cause 2010 models are coming.

2009 MDX with navg
roof rails
all season mats
wheel locks
one free oil change
And this included the destination charge. I hope this help.
$40,300 (includes dest)/ tax/tags extra.
36 mo., 12k/yr, no money down, $722/mo.
Love it after day 1.
