seems good to me, we just got a quote from an acura dealer in peabody,ma for 41,990 for a base model-they call it a "premium" model. passed on that. we can wait. does anyone else have quotes from mass area dealers?
  • gobears2gobears2 Member Posts: 23
Denver dealer just got first delivery of 2010 MDX and just soft quoted me $1,000 to $1,500 off of MSRP or around $46.5k at the mid for tech/ent. They have no incentive to deal as they are just getting the product now. I will let others take the MDX off their hands at these prices. Just another data point for the group.

Now I don't feel so bad about paying 42.7k+TTL for my USED 2009 MDX (Sport, Tech and Entertainment) with 9,200 miles. Delear threw in a ton of additional warranty and the car came with all-weather mat, running board and moldings on the doors. A comparable 2010 model would cost about 8-10k more and would have come with inferior warranty.

chicat, can you say which dealer in Illinois?

    I'm looking for a base.

I just bought 2009 MDX with TECH+ENT today. I thought I got a pretty good deal from the dealer because I just paid a little bit under invoice price, 43K. But after checking this forum, I realized that I may still overpaid about 2K. I should check this forum before I walked into the deal this afternoon. However, today is the last day to entitle for the tax credit, I may gain some tax credit back to leveage it.

I've gotten a 36K quote for new 2009 Base MDX.
Can anyone give me a rundown of acceptable 'fees' for California? Seems when I got my last car (2004 Subaru over the net - best buying experience I ever had) other than Tax (L.A. County), Title and License, I paid a couple of bucks for a CA tire recycling tax and a few bucks for 'doc' fee.
Anyone have a recent 'itemized' price breakdown?
    Thanks!

That is not that bad of a price. Dealer in Denver came out of the box with initial offer of $44k for 2009 tech/ent with no additional options prior to tax and any registration/title fees. One thing to keep in mind is that there is marketing support of $2k (which most dealers will split 50/50) and a dealer in Chicago told me that there is $500 bonus cash to dealers to move 2009 MDX product.

for 2009 Acura MDX with technology package. the out door price is $43,100. It is a good deal?
  • sunrise_4265sunrise_4265 Member Posts: 2
Will, it depends the inventory level of your local dealer has. Since there are not many 2009 models left in the lots, your neogitation room is limited. If you really like the car, I guess you can further neogitate down to 42K to see if you can get that deal. Good luck

I am hoping for a similar deal from Bridgewater. I am in Annapolis MD area. Where is Delaware did they deliver your car? I haven't heard from the internet sales person yet but heard from someone at Princeton for the same car you got for 44,992 but I'd have to go there in person for identity theft laws. Who did you deal with there, if you don't mind sharing? Thanks, newmdxgirl

Does any one know about the invoice price of MDX tech? I am in south california. Plan on buying MDX tech 2010.

    Thank you very much!!!!
  • jvettejvette Member Posts: 70
I have not found invoice yet but over the weekend I got an offer for $1000 off sticker and today I got $2000 off sticker from another dealer. So we know for sure there is at least a $2000 mark up on it.
  • tncardfantncardfan Member Posts: 1
The $2000 dealer incentive on the 2009 MDX was set to expire today, 1/4/10. Has anyone heard if they are continuing it until all the vehicles have been sold? There are still a few 2009's out there.
  • smitty1krrsmitty1krr Member Posts: 19
2010 MDX Tech --$42,519 Invoice (Including freight)

According to AOL Autos. Invoice pricing scheduled to be up on Edmunds
    1-7-10.

Looks like the same $4200ish markup as the 09's. (Not including the additional holdback)

Has anyone received quotes on the Acura Extended Warranty for the 2010 Acura MDX? I am looking at the 2010 MDX with Advance and Entertainment Packages.
  • xshenxshen Member Posts: 6
Anyone has thoughts on the advanced package? I would like to figure out if the extra cost is worth for the additional features.
  • jbbrow00jbbrow00 Member Posts: 8
Don't forget there is always dealer advertising cost added as well...usually around $200.00 :D
  • bliz1bliz1 Member Posts: 5
has anyone in the south received an offer for more than 2000 off? Seems like the techs are difficult to be found so if demand exceeds supply dealers won't deal.
Thanks for all the good info.

    Hello Smitty1krr

Thank you very much!!!! Do you have idea what the low price we can deal with them?

    Thanks again

I just received the following internet price on 2010 MDX with Technology and Entertainment Packages from midwest dealer.

$47,814 pre-tax. This would approximate MSRP or about $3,500 profit without factoring in any dealer holdback. Clearly this dealer got something wrong in offer. I would really like to know when Edmunds plans on showing at least invoice pricing, let alone its TMV pricing.

I just pulled the trigger and bought the 2010 MDX with tech. I went through an auto broker. The car will get here the first week of Feb. Here are the details.

    MDX Tech
    Wood Shift knob
Black roof rails and cross bars ( I like the silver but they are almost double the cost)
    installation of accessories

MSRP on this was $47,323 plus instalation of $400.00

I got an out the door price of $45,070.00 plus tax

I know that I could have done better waiting a few months but my existing car needs new brakes and two new tires. I did not want to invest more money into it just to trade it in. So I went ahead and did the deal now. I went with an autobroker because in Colorado all of the dealers are either asking full MSRP or $500.00 off. I hope this helps you guys out there in your negotiations.
  • gobears2gobears2 Member Posts: 23
I am also in Colorado and am waiting for tech/ent to arrive. MSRP including $810 handling for tech is $46,715 correct? That is what the acura website says. I now see that you just added part cost of $608 likely. So, if I strip away dealer installed accessories, you got the car for around $2,045 below MSRP (incl. handling).

    $47,323 - $608 = $46,715 MSRP - ($45,070 - $400) = $2,045

Can you tell me at what dealer you purchased the car? Great info. Thanks

My wild guess.. Is it Continental Acura of Naperville in the Suburbs of Chicago??
  • pfetayapfetaya Member Posts: 13
Don't know how people feel about driving or the cost of a flatbed, but several dealers here in New jersey are selling the car for $750 over invoice - which is what I paid in December - and that is without really tough negotiating....
  • sascsasc Member Posts: 14
really, who did you buy from, and what was your out-the-door cost?
  • lewis3lewis3 Member Posts: 25
I actually used a car broker. HM Brown.
  • gobears2gobears2 Member Posts: 23
Thats right. Apologies. Friend of mine purchased 2010 tech for $3,000 below MSRP which equates to around $1,200 over invoice. Tech/Ent cars are just arriving now and dealers are gouging. Dealer just offered me $47,915 pre-tax and title which is over $3,500 over invoice. Ridiculous. Cars in midwest and east coast going for $500-$750 over INVOICE.

Orange County, CA. The new 2010 MDXs are literally flying off dealer lots here in my area. After an extensive search I found the car I wanted (Polished Metal/Taupe) inbound to one of the dealers in my area. I contacted the internet manager after extensive pricing research and asked if he was a Carsdirect.com dealer. He said he was and I offered him the cars direct price of $46,441 vs. an MSRP of $48,615.

Since our '08 was bought at a competing dealer (totaled recently after being rear ended while stopped by a 40mph Audi Q7) he replied with "that's lower than my internet price but I don't want to lose your business again so, done." It couldn't have been easier and I'm happy with the price given the tight supply of the TECH/ENT cars in my area. Sure, I'm sure I could have done better with more time on my side but I had to replace my wife's car immediately. My view is that the dealer made a couple grand and I saved a couple grand. Everybody wins.

BTW- the car performed very well in the collision. The Audi Q7 is a 5,200-5,500 lb SUV. After being hit the MDX was spun 90 degrees before hitting the car in front on the left side and then pushed into a freeway retaining wall. Major damage on three sides of the car. Every airbag in the car deployed accept the front bags. The MDX did an admirable job of protecting my wife and son.

I found an 08 with 24k for 38,800 and was told by this forum it was too high. A local wholesaler said
it would be a sweet deal at about 35-36000.
  • avconnectavconnect Member Posts: 8
Paid 38,800 for 09 MDX Tech Ent w/ 9k miles.
  • dragongzdragongz Member Posts: 19
I got 5 quotes, the lowest one for it is $43800 without tax and fee.

    any other information?

    Thanks
  • gobears2gobears2 Member Posts: 23
Hi. I presume that you are talking about MDX tech. That is about $1,300 over invoice (incl. handling). Sounds like better deals out there unless you are on the west coast and waiting for inventory to build.
  • pfetayapfetaya Member Posts: 13
bridgewater acura. price including destination was $43,268, then they added $185 doc fee, $179 supplemental nj tax (since car gets under 19mpg) and sales tax around $3K.

Also got around 50% disocunt on a bunch of accesories.
  • dragongzdragongz Member Posts: 19
Yes, I am in LA. Any good suggestion on MDX tech purchase?

    Thanks
  • gobears2gobears2 Member Posts: 23
Probably around $1,200+ over invoice is good pricing in western region. $500-$750 over invoice elsewhere from what others are saying.

Prices will only get better if you are willing to wait a month or two.

For tech/ent in Denver, $3,500 over invoice is a repetitive pattern in terms of quotes that I have received.
  • carhunter12carhunter12 Member Posts: 2
Which area? Sounds lile a reasonable deal

Anywhere to get invoice price for 2010 MDX?
  • gobears2gobears2 Member Posts: 23
I think getting invoice pricing on 2010 MDX models is a no go. I just noticed that 2009 MDX marketing support was extended...so, if you are looking for a deal that is where I would go. I think 2010 incentives are right around the corner. Just today Denver dealer started playing ball on 2010 tech/ent for a car in transit (offered $1,400 off MSRP....better than the $500 off that I got last week). That to me means that he has some incentive money coming his way in the future.
  • rmrcrmrc Member Posts: 21
When I bought my wife's TECH/ENT last Thursday pricing was MUCH softer on MDXs with just TECH. I got $2,200 off MSRP on the TECH/ENT and I'm sure I could have gotten $3,200 off on a TECH if that's what I was shopping for.
  • gobears2gobears2 Member Posts: 23
Yep. That is what Denver dealers keep telling me as there is more 2010 tech product compared to 2010 tech/ent product. What state did you purchase in? Thanks for the feedback.
  • wasabeewasabee Member Posts: 31
    Go to www.costcoauto.com

The invoice price for the 2010 MDX (all models are listed).

Went to a local acura dealer (atlanta) and the sales guy flat out told me there will be no incentives coming for 2010 MDX until end of the year and he can only take $1K off the MSRP price. What a jerk, I hope his sales tank All I know is when there is an acura incentives on the MDX, and he calls me, I will be sure not to buy from him.
  • smitty1krrsmitty1krr Member Posts: 19
    True.

I think back to last year at this time. The New TL was launching with the same
negative public opinion on the new nose.

The TL had 1st quarter incentives. The MDX represents high volume for Acura
as well. They will have to move them soon. Consumers that like the new
    nose are severely outnumbered.

Wait it out if you can.
  • texashosertexashoser Member Posts: 14
Contacting several dealers in Texas, pricing is still not very good. One dealer is selling at MSRP, another for $500 below MSRP, and another at $1000 below MSRP.

The problem is inventory is still low and they've already moved the cars they've had at MSRP.

Have to wait a 2-3 more months...
  • rmrcrmrc Member Posts: 21
I'm in Orange County, CA. Wish I could have waited for better pricing but since my wife's 2008 MDX was totaled in the accident we needed a replacement asap. Given the tight TECH/ENT market I was happy with $2,200 off.

Off topic: the changes to the 2010 MDX are relatively small but they make a good car a great car. It's now quieter inside, 6-sp trans, USB port for iPod, much improved sound system, the NAV screen has much better resolution, HDD, much improved backup camera, more comfortable seats with MUCH better leather quality, a thicker more sporty feeling steering wheel, nicer TECH wheels, etc.
  • texashosertexashoser Member Posts: 14
BTW, just got a quote for $2,100 off MSRP ($2,100 above invoice) + TTL.

    Moving in the right direction.
  • smitty1krrsmitty1krr Member Posts: 19
The raised the invoice price $400 since yesterday, on the main Edmunds site???
  • pfetayapfetaya Member Posts: 13
yeas, they sure did....wonder where that came from...
  • valuecarbuyervaluecarbuyer Member Posts: 2
When I was finalizing the deal for my 2010 MDX Tech in the last week of December, the Salesperson told me if they cannot find the color I was looking for and if the car has 2010 production date, Honda will be increasing the the price by $400. I considered that to be another way to pressure for making the deal faster. But I think I was wrong! The price hike is coming from Honda Motors itself.

Hi tncardfan. On January 5th, Acura paid off its dealers two grand for every remaining 2009 MDX that they had left in inventory.
