rwag,
try the back seat trick....
And what IS all the fuss about 4 doors?...I agree...keep the passengers on the curb side. Also when you stop...what is everybody itchin' to do??..GET OUT!....who says I want to get out right away?...If I ever have 4 doors it will be for ME loading or unloading stuff in the back from MY side. Let the passengers crawl out the other side. After all...It's MY truck baby!...LOL!!

My Uncle is a chevy dealer. He told me last night that it will be easier to order a truck as time goes by because of the bugs they have to work out on the assembly line. He said when i order mine next summer it should be about 8-10 wks. And he told me the new tahoes (look like the silvberado fronts) will be coming out nov dec of 2000. You think the new silverados were hard to order i heard these are gonna be twice as hard.
Last night my mom was driving home form shopping went by the chevy dealer and seen a gold blazer ( we have one now but are looking for a new one) So she picked me and my dad up but me and my dad seen a better one a black with pewter on the bottom i hope they buy it soon my dad gets the gm supplier discount 12% off invoice pretty sweet huh i was gonna buy my silverado with it a month ago but they wont accept it for those vehicles because they dont make any money. Just thought id let u know ill let u all know if there is a new blazer in my driveway anytime soon.
Please let me know if you have them so I can go back to my dealer with evenmore ammo.
Thanks
1. Spray on bedliners - As a firefighter, we have the spray on bedliner in our 98 Crew Cab Chevy Brush Truck. One of our firefighters also has this in their personal vehicle. I'm told at $300-$400 it is well worth the investment. Lifetime guarantee, great for winter weather climates w/o a cab, and for preventing rust
2. Mirrors - rear view with compass/temp not listed as standard equip. Heated outside mirros were an option
3. 4th door - Dealer here in PA states that GM will NOT begin taking orders for vehicles with 4th door until Jan.'00 - and the availability will be very tight
4. Color - Got the Indigo Blue Metallic with dark graphite custom bucket cloth. Looking forward to babying it like I did my '97 Black Grand Prix GTP - nothing looks better than a black/dark car or truck kept nice and detailed. Yes it is a labor, but a labor of love for us guys that don't know as much about what's under the hood as we would like to.
5. Delivery - Quoted at 10-12 weeks
Take care all! Let's get those Silverado's on the road!!!!
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I have a 99 Z71 LT in Sunset Gold Metallic and Graphite interior. I love the gold - not too many of them on the road and it doesn't show dirt very well (not that I let it stay dirty for long, but sometimes in winter around here it is tough to keep em clean).
I have the rhino liner and have enjoyed it so far. The only negative I have heard is that someone was able to dent their wheel wells with a pallet of bricks with the Rhino installed.
Someone posted something about getting some noise from the springs. I took mine in for this. They retorqued and lubed the rear spring bolts. The noise was gone for a couple days, but I thought I heard it once today.
I'm getting a noise from my rear seat when someone is in it. Anybody else had this problem.
Goodbid and whoever.
What tire pressure you running with your 3/4 LT?
The door calls for 50/80 but that is kinda hard for an empty ride. It was delivered to me with 40 PSI all around and that was great. Although the side walls don't LOOK like they bulge too much at 40...i wonder how much they are flexing while bouncing down the road? Firestone has yet to answer me on the minimum pressure for these tires. I decided to pump them all up to 50 this morning with an empty load. It was noticeably harder...but still very comfortable. Some bumpy sections were a little bouncy....but 40 was better. Any input on pressure and what tires you are running on a 3/4 would be great.
I'm pretty sure the old drop in liner has won over a spray in for me. Saw a rhino up close yesterday. it was older and all a horrible oxidized grey like?...Icck! Father in law has a Line-X and it has a huge scrape all the way down to the metal from a pallet. maybe these just can't take real abuse? A friend of mine got a huge sheet of diamond plate and bolted it down to the bed. talk about tough! He loads very heavy pallets in and out that get pushed in and pulled out and every other type just don't hold up. The diamond plate holds up like a fortress!
lemme know about the tires and more spray in info.
Thanks

Will the spray on liner companies respray damaged areas? I slide a lot of equipment in and out all the time.
Keith / Krallen:
As for repairs on the spray on liners - I was told they have a lifetime warranty against corrosion, or "scraping off" at any time. The company that sells them here in PA will respray those areas that are problems. The only concern I would have is the color not matching over time on the patched areas.
Cindy
The dealer is blowing smoke at you. I have a 99 Silverado with those mirrors. Ordered them, paid for them, and the mirrors on my truck have a small symbol on them showing they are heated. You have to get the rear window defogger to get them though. That worked for me since I wanted the defogger. Had a problem last winter here in Colorado where the rear window of my 91 Silverado fogged-up/iced-up a couple of times and wanted the rear window defogger to solve that. Also had to scrape ice off the outside mirrors last winter. Got the heated mirrors to solve that. Hope it works this winter.
(P.S. - This is for a 4WD Z71 with the 5.3L and 3.73. The change oil message still hasn't come on but the truck's got 4100 miles. Would have changed sooner but just got back from long trip to Texas where I put on a lot of unexpected miles.)
As I told Roc in another topic...I don't hang out in 863....why??..I already know the answer!..heheheee...Hint..Bowtie.
Yeah ford guys are sensative....makes sense..the trucks are too. Don't push them toooo hard..(Ford trucks OR the owners).
Bought the oil (Mobil 1 5-30) at 500 miles didn't get into the crankcase until about 800 miles; change it at 3000 - 4000 intervals. 18,000 + and going great . . . You guys/gals with the newer trucks are lucky - you won't have to go through the misery of paying $7.00 for a PF59 oil filter at the dealer that we did early in the year. AutoZone for $2.59 . . .
I've got a Rhino liner and you are correct, it will dent if not treated correctly - for the Boy Scout equipment and horse stuff I haul it works out great.
Congrats on the new baby -
Great news on the inside rear-view mirror becoming standard. I wasn't going to spend the money on that toy - free is a good price.
As Dave40 mentioned to me once, a K+N filter would be an improvement over the Z-71 airfilter (larger but not better quality?). Anyway I believe you can buy just the filter or you can buy the filter/intake package. Does anyone have info. on best place to buy, price, how it worked (power, mpg)?
Glad to hear autozone carries PF59.
Are those Yokohama tires good for off-road also? I'm interested in replacing the stock tires but need something good for light duty off-road, like muddy trails.
Also you mentioned black rail caps from Putco. Do they have a web page? I've never heard of them.
Vince
I intended on using Mobil 1 5-30 also..But had thought about mobil 1 filters as well. haven't checked to see if they even have one yet? A friend of mine showed me a web site that some guy bought every brand of filter there was and cut them all open to see how they were inside. Mobil 1 was the best construction and Fram was the worst. Fram the worst??..that's all I've used almost my entire life?...ooops!..(They did get me by though..)
Anyone else have any input here?
With todays oils/cars..and synthetics...I'd imagine even 7500 is fine (or whenever the cute little light comes on). I'd like to see the light once....but don't know if I'll wait until that long.
Looking like 500 for first...and every 3000 like I planned from day one.
Thanks for the input.
- Tim
Quad..was the first at 1400?
Now you got me wondering...
- Tim
Randy
Mobil is going to recommend you go by the manufactures recommendation. (4500 +/- miles).
Depending on your driving conditions it will vary.
Our tech does a lot of highway driving, he tries to change his oil every 7500 miles, but goes as much as 10,000 between changes. The Mobil sales force goes 10,000 miles between changes. I purchased a '95 jeep grand Cherokee from our sales department that had 175,000 miles on it (Mobil 1 since the beginning changed about every 7500 to 10,000 miles), still running good and strong.
Randy
Wonder if I should follow the dash indicator instead with Mobil 1 5-30?
How does one get in touch with them?
Jim Carr
My neighbor told me tonight, they arrested the vandals who shot my glass out. At this point, I don't know how he knows, or if it is true. So if it turns out false, I'll let you know. But he says the parents turned them in, it was a BB gun, and they did $35,000 damage. (Probably about 100 cars)
I'm very sad for the parents.
By the way, you can see the oil change message come on without waiting for it. Just change your oil. To reset, ignition on, engine off, press down the accelerator 3 times within 5 seconds. It flashes the message 5 times to confirm it's reset.
Think about it.
