Got a quote of OTD price $271,98 for 2015 Honda CRV EX in PA area. Is this a Good price? If not not can someone tell me what is the lowest price somebody get for 2015 Honda CRV EX
? or should I wait more till Dec end. Please suggest.

Sale price of car is $25,320 and OTD is $27198.
If that is for a AWD I think it is a good price. I have been offering 25,200 for EX awd and getting the yes but we have dealer add-ons that we will have to charge you for BS.

I finally picked up 2015 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD from Ourisman Honda in Laurel MD last weekend. My OTD(all inclusive) was $29k. The OTD also included a college graduate rebate of $500.

spock who did you speak to in Ourisman? I have no luck getting these dealers who have the car in stock to budge in price. They all keep saying "We will beat your best offer" but you have to bring it in writing, in person, with stock number. Its starting to get so frustrating dealing with dealers.

Yes Maybe Tesla can help us get rid of dealers being the only way to buy cars. I don't want a salesman ( They don't have the autority to sell you a car!)
    I want an order taker.

    Here is an interesting link

Ok, I just bought a 2015 Honda CRV AWD from a northern California Honda dealer. I thank you for Stever for your tips and hints. After about a month and many emails and calls around the area. I finally got deal I can afford. Here is the price of what I paid for the vehicle.

    Car price : $24, 800
Add-ons Accessories: $379 ( I dont like this, but I had to pay for it)
    California sale tax: $2020.72 (8.5%)
    DMV license: $272.75
    Doc. fee: $80.00
    Military Appreciation Offer: -$500

    The OTD price is: $27,081.47

I hope this will help someone who is looking to buy one. I would recommend Honda Anderson in Palo Alto, Ca. They give the best offer in my opinion, but I did not buy from them because I live 2 hours away.

    Congrats @thanhca!

@guerinkeywest, Volvo is starting an online buying program, but you wind up working with the dealer at the end of the process. Kind of like GM has been doing for a while with their Shop-Click-Drive program.

Have a deposit for EX Blue. Dealership is in the process of finding the color. I will give details once transaction is finalized. I'm superstitious. LOL. Just a few comments about the process and a questions. Not sure how true or not why do most dealers say CRV EX is a tough get, I'm sure certain colors are more popular but a tougher get. Really. All I want to know can you get me my car. Why do certain dealerships after you contact them for a price insist you come visit the dealership. I would think most people use the Internet for buying cars and go to the dealership to test drive and go back to finalize the paperwork. Lastly why do you always have to meet the sales manager. I'm sure it's a business practice but it's a waste of time especially if he is busy. I actually walked out because of the waiting. Lastly this is a finance question. I got pre approved, amount given was more than I need but was told in the email that I need go see the dealership for the rate. I know Honda has .9 financing for the CRV. Why ?
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
The main reason to get people into the dealership is to seal the deal and get you to stop shopping elsewhere. Other "benefits" include sizing you up so they can guess what add-ons you may fall for and how anxious you are to buy. If you're obviously in love with a particular car, the dealer may not be as willing to lower the car.

Not sure why you need to go in person to get the finance rate. That's probably because they need to identify you with some proof of id. As a side benefit they get to try to upsell you on mop & glow (i.e., paint/fabric protection), extended warranties, pinstripes and all the other high profit items.

If you know what you want, ask the dealer to deliver the car to your house when it they find it. That can cut through a lot of hassle if the dealer is willing to do that (most are, if it means they'll lose a sale otherwise).

That was my bad, I swore I saw 2015 @ .9 but going back to the Honda website it was for 2014

what kind of finance rate are you getting from Honda finance on a 2015 CR-V? If you get preapproved from Honda's website, do they tell you what the rate would be?
  • guerinkeywestguerinkeywest Member Posts: 10
I bought a 2015 CRV EX AWD last night $25499 +TTL $26594.41 out the door.
Had to drive an hour away to Las Cruces NM because the dealer half a block from me would not sell it for same price. He wanted about $1000 more.

Stever, would have liked to have said hello and meet you but I ran over after work and headed back to Alamogordo ASAP.

That would have been fun. I don't get to enjoy new car smells very often. :) That's gonna be my New Year's resolution - go test drive some cars.

Did you buy from Borman Autoplex then? And I assume your local dealer is Jack Keys?

    Yes Yes and Yes

Left here about 4PM and got home about 8:30. Had the deal made beforehand just had to give them money and pick up the keys- still took over 2 hours

    Two hours is good. :)

I had some email exchanges with the Jack Keys Kia here when we were still living in the UP and trying to decide whether to downsize or continue owning a moving van for the relocation. Had a great exchange with a Matt at Thelen Kia in Lower Michigan but the person at the local Kia didn't address my questions and just wanted me to come in. People here I've asked about have given mixed reviews, so maybe it was just the luck of the draw.

Bought a AWD LX for my wife for $23360 + $200 doc fee. Invoice is $23955. We bought it from Zeigler Honda in Kalamazoo, but also was offered this price by Fox Honda in GR, Crown Motors in Holland, Art Moehn in Jackson and Brighton Honda.

Sent e-mails to about 10 dealers (including 2 in IN), and Brighton Honda made the best offer ($23370 + $190 doc fee).

I am negotiating for a 2015 CRV-EXL FWD with Navi, Burgundy (Red Bisq). Best current offer I have is $30950, out the door. With this out the door price, the actual vehicle price is $ 28,500, and the rest is Tax, Title, tag fees. Tax rate is 7%. Not sure if I can get much lower. I am in Jacksonville, Florida area. Thoughts on deal??

I put in the deposit with the dealer for the 2015 Honda CRV AWD EX Black.

    Details :

    2015 Honda CRV AWD EX
    Price of Car : 25400
    Tax (6.5%) : 1671
    Title and Registration : 425
    Doc Fee : 75
    OTD Price : $27572

My credit union is offering 1.74% APR for 3 Years. I took that pre approved deal to the dealer. Dealear spoke to couple of banks that they work with and he is willing to offer for 1.74% APR for 5 years. Let me know if the total deal is better or not. Considering I am in Minnesota, not many dealers are offering deals on AWD EX model.

The best I got is car sale price is $25400 and 1.74% APR for 5 years so far. Let me know if any one is offering better than this, I can take it to this dealer and ask him to match it. I know once I put in deposit, it is very difficult to ask dealer to match it again, but would like to hear from Minnesota CRV owners to see if I can do better on this.

Brian and Stever any advise is appreciated.

Your first mistake is giving any dealer a deposit and still try to negotiate a lower price. Never do this again unless you know for sure the price is good and your ready to buy that moment. I find it best to round up 15 to 20 dealerships if possible and Negotiate via emails, and direct phone calls to the internet managers the last 2 days, last day of any month. If your not a good negotiator start this process a few days earlier.

Your deal is 400 below dealers invoice price minus doc fee's . I don't know where the market is right now in Minnesota. If you make this deal tomorrow you certainly did not do that bad pricewise. I would try for some freebie's from this dealership to sweeten this deal .

3 or 4 oil changes, all season mats, cargo tray, pin stripping etc.

If your not sure of a target price to buy a vehicle. Here is a good formula to stick by.

Invoice price...... minus dealers hold-back on vehicle... minus any incentives and rebates.... minus dealers doc fee charge. There is still another 2 to 3% profit dealers are making on the vehicles . A lot of car people including myself are not sure if the posted invoice price is the real invoice price. Only the dealers and there company know the real price of the vehicle. So this is what we go by from sites like @Edmunds , @kbb, @nada, CR reports, etc

Above is always a good starting formula. If you cant get close to your target price you work back up towards invoice price. Never down from the MSRP.

As the year goes on dealerships start receiving more trunk/ incentive money from there manufacturer's enabling them to sell vehicles cheaper.

Picked up my 2015 Honda CRV EX

    25,100 Px of Car
    880 Dest. Fee
    ---------
    25,980
    278 Doc fee
    15 misc fees in NJ

    + tax and title.

Had several other quotes all from 26,100 to 26,400 including dest fee
One quote was 25,920 but doc fees were more.

Could I have rec'd a better deal if I waited to the end of the month ? Maybe but I was in need a car asap.

I am getting the prices ranging from 25100 to 25800 (destination included) in Chicago area for the same car so wanted to check as your offer seems real good.

    Brian,

Thanks for your advise. Dealer told me the invoice prices is $25990(including destination) and which is offering 600 off of invoice price. Problem is I was trying to negotiate for EXL now, which he does not want to go down below 27900 as I really put the deposit. Only thing he is going to do is offering 1.74% for 5 years instead of 3 years from my credit union. I asked for $27700 for EXL and he does not want to go down.

I agree not putting down deposit would have been much better for negotiating this.

    Thanks,
    Ramesh

In metro Detroit, I am getting an OTD price of $26750 plus 3 years of oil changes for a 2015 CR-V EX AWD.
Is this a good price or is there some room to go down in price?

Will it help if I finance it through Honda finance or dealer? I can pay cash but will finance it if the price is better and pay it off.

Last Thursday I bought a 2015 EX AWD and noticed a little vibration before I bought it but didn't let it stop me from buying it. Last weekend I took a 300 mile excursion and now I have buyer’s remorse because of the vibration. Sometimes it is really bad and sometimes it seems minor but HONDA you better fix this, it is a real problem.

The latest price I am getting is $26500 OTD.
I am negotiating only the OTD price.
State tax in Michigan is 6% + plate transfer is $23.
I consider doc fee as pure profit for the dealer and negotiable.

So you can do the calculation. I think it is less than $25000 +TTL

Not to be a second guesser, but why did you go ahead with the deal after you felt the vibration?  Seems to me you had max leverage at that time to make them fix it quickly before you did the deal.  I drove my new Accord with CVT for 30 minutes before I gave them the money, to be sure it had no issues.

Hope the dealership fixes it for you.

When I test drove it it seemed like pretty minor vibrations and I have heard about the problem. I don't think the dealer can fix it; Honda will have to at least release an ECU code change. I was about 2 hours from home when it got so bad that instead of a little vibration you could almost call it shaking. I thought that just leaving the heater fan motor set to low that it would go away (As discussed on other CRV forums) that made it a little less but still noticeable.

    Hi,

I am planning to buy 2015 Honda CR-V LX FWD in Atlanta ,Georgia . I am getting prices from different dealers, but the least offer i got is $22,900 which includes car price and protection package ($22,400 + $499) without taxes. OTD price is coming around $25K Is that a good price deal?

Was the destination charge included in your price of 22,900 ? what is this dealers doc fee charge?

Do you know your models invoice price.?

I assume yes..as he didnt asked any other charges . Doc fee is around 250$ ..dont remember exactly.. Invoice price is $21,905 .
$21,905 Invoice price is without destination fee..if destination fee included it comes around $22,785.
keep on negotiating.................. your quoted price is nothing special. Not good. Your buying this vehicle not the dealer. Tell them exactly what you want. If they don't have your specified vehicle dealer either finds / orders one OR you walk . Don't settle for any 2015 model that has added accessories you don't want. A left over 2014 model is a different story.

I bought a 2015 Honda CRV Touring AWD(White Exterior and Beige Interior) for $31,250, Dealer had already installed Wheel Locks and Mud gaurds so he said he will charge additional $300 but I negotiated that and he did not add any more for them.
Getting a Touring model was very tough in the area, We have been looking around 150 Mile radius in and around Cincinnati but couldn't find many, Even though I found few, Dealers are quoting around 33,000

    One dealer quoted: List Price:$33,650.00

    Your ePrice: $33,000.00 + TT&L

But I did wait for few weeks until I got a deal of 31,250 + 2098 Tax +250 Documentation Fees.

Not sure if I got a good deal but it is the best I could get in this area.

    Thanks

Looking for a 2015 CR-V EX-L AWD in WA. Only a few dealers here response back to my email. The best quote I got is $28,430.00 (including destination fee, I think) plus TTL. It is lower than invoice (with destination fee) of $28,355 but not much ($75). I am wondering if this is the right price for this regions. Any help/thought from anyone would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

It is for a 2015 CRV EX - 2WD; I don't think there is a need for AWD in Dallas area
