Agreed. Eurotrashy.

Yeah, the stance movement is getting played out. Many of the cars at that event had such modifications, the fad won't fade away for some time yet.
That black E30 2-door looks like the 1987 one I had a couple of years ago, including the color.
Regarding that blue Opel in your 6/15 message, the shape from the angle you posted reminds me of a E30.
parked outside the service area at the VW dealer (had a dealer ad plate, so belonged to them) a neon green VW thing. Of course it had a brick behind the rear wheel to keep it from rolling away. no clue what the story with that baby was.

first time in ages, a last generation Supra (I assume TT), red with the big hoop handle on the back. Looked real clean though, and pretty stock.

Unmolested Supra Turbos can bring big money.

As you can see here:

worth as much as a 996 Porsche
And that's for a NA car. A turbo should do more. A really low mileage 100% stock mint 93-98 Supra Turbo is a hen's tooth already - if one can find an example, probably something to stash away for later - it's a definite future nostalgia car for younger people today. And do it securely, as I bet they are stolen now and then.
I see a few of those in my area, always with varying degrees of tasteless mods.
Well the whole point of the turbos IS to modify them. That's why people want 'em. Some people get startling horsepower out of them.
Saw a similar wagon in the parking lot at work the other day, an older gentleman in the drivers' seat. It was a light yellow color and in pretty good shape. Don't know if it was a diesel or not.
Just passed a six door Cadillac limo, no tinted windows, apparently driven by the owner - a couple with two small kids in the rearmost seat.
Saw a Citroen yesterday. One of those bizarre looking Charlestons it was bright green and seemed to be in excellent shape.
The wheels on those had no center hole so the tires had to be pried off they rims like a bicycle.
I remember hearing that they cold stand upright. with one wheel removed.
Strange, STRANGE little cars!
Unfortunately, the bros who buy them modify more than the engine. I've seen ghastly bodywork and wheels on them, iffy paint jobs, hilarious park bench rear spoilers (the stock spoiler was amusingly large to begin with), I even remember one with a big intake scoop - on the roof. They attract a certain taste.
Several Citroens could do the three wheel trick. I don't know about the 2CV, but the DS was famous for it. Here's a 70s GS in motion:
I forgot what they looked like - never sold too many here.
Maybe it's a good thing they were discontinued.

" It's troo, it's troo"!!
That Citroen isn't bad looking. Rear brakes are tiny!
thought the same thing about the brakes, so I assumed they were inboard.

A friend owned a Citroen SM back in the late '70s- in Alaska of all places. One night he was driving home down some gravel roads at a VERY rapid clip(over 80 mph, IIRC). When he arrived home he found the RR tire to be completely flat- the car had used its hydropneumatic suspension to "retract" the RR wheel and it had handled and braked as if nothing was wrong.

Here's a stock 1993 Supra. I remember when these came out, I was in 10th grade, and filled with want:
Toyota was cool once. Then the beige set in.
Citroen SM in Alaska? The "SM" must have been true for him, if you know what I mean.
that looks just like the one I saw. It was heading the other direction and I was moving through a light, so really couldn't get a good look at it. That color though.

He's owned an eclectic array of cars- Saab Sonett, Lotus Eclat, BMW 3.0CS... His current car is this Z4 M Roadster(you cant see them in the picture, but it also sports pearlescent shadow flames):

I know the stripe colors are an homage to the 70's race cars, but dang, that thing is butt ugly. Maybe it is the red wheels (color and design) really sinking it.

Here's one for andre1969! I spotted this really nice 1953 De Soto Powermaster near the SE corner of Benson and Verree in NE Philly this morning.
Was Mr. C. driving?

Roadburner's Citroen story is similar to the news account of an attack on Charles De Gaulle while being driven in his black Citroen DS. Despite car and tire damage from gunfire, the driver was able to speed away and escape the ambush.
My dad had a 54 somewhat like that when I as a little kid. Except it was a tad darker shade green on the bottom and it was a Firedome. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a lemon so I'm guessing long gone to auto heaven.
A green, but not BRG, TR-6. Paint kind of faded including the Union Jack decal. Driver was an older gentleman who looked like he was enjoying it.
Andre, where are you?
Spotted today at our local car show which happens every Saturday night and Sunday right here where we live. Lots of cars to see. Fintail, you really should come.

That Z4 is a bit garish, yeah. I could deal with it on an E30 M3 or something, but it's a little loud for this century.
Your Saab, right? Talk about bottom of the depreciation curve. But like the ad says, it's a nice car for the money.
I keep forgetting about XXX. I see there's a Caddy show next Sunday, but I probably won't be back in town til later in the day. I need to talk to MBCA people about having a meeting there.
Now, how did that happen? I have GOT to be the most computer un savvy person here.
This was a beautiful 1957 De Soto four door hardtop. Red and white too.
The Saab was a car I looked at for an elderly friend with no car and little money.
The Saab was nice but it's a Saab and she can't afford constant repairs.
The A/C "just needs a charge" yeah, right. He had it charged last year. The cost
of fixing the A/C could exceed the value of the Saab.
For some reason, I can't seem to delete that post! Maybe I should just stay out of here.
Can't delete posts. I suggest writing a different post by editing the original to say something different, or just putting a smiley face, or just a "." will make the puppy running the computer happy. The edit cannot leave a blank post. You can edit the post for 4 hours.
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
isell, you should be able to click on the gear icon of your post and edit it.
The Saab is definitely not for someone without DIY ability. Your friend needs to find an older Corolla or equivalent - they get snapped up fast, so finding one might take awhile - but they can go on without much work for a long time.
Posts can't be deleted anymore. Just edit the old post and replace the text with a smiley or a period.
That's just weird. There is a German word, 'Verschlimmbesserung', that means an improvement that makes things worse. I am afraid that the recent change in format for posting may qualify.

you can edit posts, but I think you only get 4 hours. after that, live with it!

That's a sweet looking car, Lemko. The '53 Firedome my Granddad had was a pale seafoam green, most likely the same color as the roof of that car. He had to replace the driver's fender, hood, bumper, and all of the teeth in the grille, as the car had been wrecked. The donor car was a dark green. I remember it as being darker, but it was probably the same green as the lower body on that car.
I can't speak for 53, but I'm pretty sure my Dad's 54 was a bit darker green on the bottom of the two tone than the one in the picture.
_ There is a German word, 'Verschlimmbesserung', that means an improvement that makes things worse_
Now compliment that with some "change for the sake of change" and I think I can find you a seat in the executive suite
No, I know the "right" cars. they just cost too much.
Sad story...73 year old woman who went through all their savings and lost their house paying for cancer treatments for her late husband. now, she has it in her bones. One leg gone already.
Sweet, decent woman down on her luck, big time.
Still looking. Probably a domestic that is in good shape mechanically.
Even sadder, had she lived in Canada it probably wouldn't have happened.
Shhh...socialism! Just because this is the only first world nation where people are routinely destroyed by medical costs, it doesn't mean anything is wrong. And if you think differently, you're a red Bolshie agitator!
Some old GM and Ford products can be safe enough bets. Last year my grandmother stopped driving, and I was going to sell her 50K mile 03 Taurus for her - basic practical car, but they are usually pretty solid. She was fine when I told her it'd fetch only about 3K. However, at the last minute, she decided to keep it for my uncle to drive her around in. Something like that might work.
I also have a co-worker who had a 99 Corolla, something like 130K on it, but maintained, and reliable. She recently bought a new car, and was going to try to get around $2500 for the Corolla. It has life left in it. However, she let a now-ex use it - maybe she'll get it back.
No, Adam Smith is god whether misinterpreted or not
Maybe it was a brother in law kind of deal?
Some of the functionality here is cool, but an overall improvement, I don't know.
Yesterday, at the GM show in Carlisle PA, I got to see this...

Wow! Any pics of the semi? That stagecoach mural, always loved it.
I see your Pontiac in the background, I think.
