I found a couple other old ones. Don't know anything about these other than they were in a waiting area for a garage in that small town. Note the strap around the body and the kitten on the trunk of the orange one,
I swear the patterned upholstery in my dad's car had red and black in it, but memories fade with time.
Old MB in the pic is a W108 280SEL 4.5, probably 1971-72. Looks like an old plate on the Spitfire as well, suggesting it was last on the road a long time ago.
At a quick glance, the pattern in that '60 Ford does look like it has blue in it, but I wonder if it's actually just a very light gray, and it tricks the eye into thinking that it's the same color as whatever vinyl is being used for the other parts of the seating area?
I saw that same light gray with a blue tone, or is it gray and a blue tone because of all the blue dash and vinyl around it?
I saw a video on the Galaxy premium interiors for 1960 for the Starliner that showed a Ford sales floor book that had samples of various interiors. There was only one showing this color and its pattern.
Here's a '60 Galaxie with a green interior. Or rather, what Google interpreted as "green" when I did a search. To me, it's one of those Caribbean/tropical sea-type colors that's a mix of blue and green, and whether you call it blue or green depends on your own eyesight. Anyway, to me at least, the pattern seems to match the vinyl. However, when I really zoom in, all I see is black, that whitish-gray, and the really washed-out red: I wonder if there's just some sort of complexity to the pattern that tricks the eye into thinking the whitish color is the same as whatever the surrounding vinyl is?
No different than an upholstered couch. We had a darker green couch, and when you looked up close, it had at least seven different colors in the weave. (gold, red, brown, etc)

Good pics, Andre. Thanks.
That single cloth weave with multiple colors is great. If I hold my hand so I can't see the coral on the "Cadillac" in the upper part of the picture, the strand in the weave that's sort of orange disappears from the mix and I see the fabric as being more complementary to the green color of the vinyl and the dash.
Here's a close up I found of a '60 Galaxie that had a red interior...
The reddish-orange stripes look bolder to me, and the darker part of the pattern seems like it's also infused with some reddish orange. But, it could just be camera quality. I guess it's also possible that some of these fabrics are actually reproductions, and therefore off just a bit, compared to the original? Here's a more complete shot of the interior...
I've zoomed in on all of the close-up pics of that '60 Ford fabric I can find. While there are slight differences that can probably be attributed to lighting and conditions at the time of the pic being taken, they all look like the same fabric to me. Maybe McNamara decided to save a few pennies per unit by using a single all-purpose fabric regardless of interior color.
I am wondering if this year Chevrolet will have another extended-length nostalgic commercial for the holidays. I actually sent a PM to their FB page to ask, but probably won't get a response.
I think they usually debuted during Thanksgiving football games, of which I watch zero. If someone sees one next week, please post here and let me know.
I still think the first one was the best--2021--"Mom's Car". Blue '66 Impala SS convertible owned by daughter's late mom and "restored" by the daughter for Dad for Christmas to cheer him up. Yeah, the timeline of the story doesn't pass the 'smell' test, but it got me emotional.

That red 60 Ford really reminds me of my dad's old car. Maybe the color of thread that most closely matches the rest of the car kind of tricks the eye into thinking it is something different. I see the one andre posted is a 4 door HT, which is very rare today.
