Does the screen panel interfere with the line of sight of back mirror? Any experiences. How big screen would be good without blocking the view in the back mirror?
Thanks
I have not been able to find the integrated 2nd row sunshades anywhere. If someone finds those, please post!
thanks,
Dave- shadeguy
I am looking for steel or chrome sidesteps to be fit on a Pilot with some sort of illumination. The black plastic illuminated running boards don't seem to appeal to me.
Also, looking to add maybe some sort of chrome window trim.
Has anyone here had any experience with this?
This is for a 2010 Pilot.
Thanks
thanks in advance......
Anyway, will the NAV play DVD through the screen. Im sure it needs to be hacked (like everything else), but does it play dvd also? If it doesnt, I will probably pass on the nav screen. Thanks for the help!
1. Running board : Premium board
reason : Lighted boards were expensive and nerf bars didn't seem safe(kids feet could get inbetween)
2. Side protector
Given touring has side molding, trying to figure out the best way to protect the doors from dings..
Vertically along the door edge, I could apply a clear tape. Is this the right approach? If so, which clear tape is good? (Vertical protection is to make sure I don't bang the door on something and get dings)
Horizontally, given the molding, what protection would work? (this is to make sure if someone else bangs their door on me, I don't get dings)
3. Corner bumper protector :
I always have bruises along the edges of the bumper in my earlier cars. How do I protect? Given the parking sensor what works?
4. Mats : Floor mats. Thinking of ordering from collegehillshonds
5. Cargo mat : Don't know yet..may be college hills
commentsa ppreciated.
thanks
I just bought a Honda Pilot 2010 and I was wondering if any of you guys have installed an aftermarket dvd nav. if so, from where and what did you guys install?
Thanks
The ends are marked L and R, so you can't install them backwards unless you try to install them upside down! Only problem was self-tapping screws that prevent loosened bars from sliding too far forward. Needed as much elbow grease as I could muster. $132, $149 with tax and shipping from H and A. Got them the next day.
Your pal,
URipADs
thanks.
The seats bolted directly in place of the ones I took off. It was a gamble but it paid off. I now have sliding second row seats in my 2003 pilot. The seats were the exact same color by the way, just not perforated.
1. We bought the trailer wiring harness because we want to pull a small utility trailer. The P/N 08L91-SZA-100 costs 181.90 now, but ONLY accomodates a 7-pin RV trailer connection, not the typical 4-pin flat connector used by almost every single utility trailer out there. Ironically, after you install this "kit" which includes a controller, relays, two wiring harnesses and 7 fuses, you still have to go to Walmart and spend $12 to buy a friggin' adapter to adapt from a 7 pin round connector to a 4 pin flat connector. Given that this vehicle only can tow 4500 lbs, I don't know what Honda was thinking here... Do they think we are all gonna pull miniature travel trailers that weigh 4000 lbs? (Most decent travel trailers have a GVWR of 6000-10,000 lbs!). In any case for $182, why not include the $10 adapter you need for 95% of your towing needs?
Worse, this same item is available online at other dealers for a more reasonable price of $135! Or, you can get a scaled down after market version on Ebay for $50 that DOES accomodate a 4 pin flat connector.
Plus, it is a pain-in-the-[non-permissible content removed] to install this kit. Bolts don't easily line up with the threaded holes in the frame, and if you aren't careful, you can drop parts down inside your quarter panel from whence they will never return, but always rattle around... Honda Engineering needs to revisit the mounting of these parts, to make the installation more user-friendly.
Finally, what was really weird is that the dealer shipped these parts to my house, but they came without instructions intentionally, so I had to Google the installation instructions to do the work myself. And, you could not install this kit WITHOUT the instructions. Honda, what is up with that???
2. We also bought the cargo cover. What a cheap looking piece of crap. Having owned several vehicles with cargo covers, this overpriced cargo cover is a flimsy piece of sh%$. Honda should be ashamed of the quality of the cover. It is really thin and won't even stay in place properly. Worse, I paid MSRP for it, but could have bought it online for 30% less! Argh.
3. Running boards are not user-installable. If you check out the highly overpriced running boards from Honda, please be aware that you can buy them online at a great discount. However, Honda, in what must be a clever trick to ensure that these are a dealer-installed item, left out the threaded screw fittings on the undercarriage, and you must get a SPECIAL TOOL to install these threaded fittings yourself. The tool is Part# LEM722M8, and can be "bought" as a "loaner" item from some dealerships, thank goodness. The key point, though, is that OTHER MANUFACTURERS DO NOT DO THIS. My Isuzu came with the threaded sockets pre-installed, and you could buy the running boards from the dealer or online.
In a nutshell, if you want to "pimp out" your Honda Pilot, you really do need to shop around, and by shopping online, particularly on Ebay, you can save hundreds of dollars vs. buying accessories at Honda dealerships. If you're handy, this may be the best option for you.
Thanks to all.
I ended up getting the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra bulbs and changed them out myself (very easy) and all I can say is WOW. :surprise: If you think the Pilot has low power lights as standard wait till you see the difference if you upgrade. :shades: The new lights are really clear and bright and makes night / rain drivng much better. We had a massive foggy night the other night and I got to try out the new lights. I did not need to use the fog lights. Can't wait to get them off-road.

every forum I've ever read has noted that the Silver Stars have a very short life span. They are whiter but they run hotter hence the shorter life.
I've never used them as the parts store has told me they tend to die very quickly compared to regular halogen bulbs. IIRC, the display at the parts store even notes the life is fairly short.
In any case, good luck with them and let us know how long they actually last.
